  • Overpoplulation leading to deforestation is only an issue in the paradigm of the current monetary based system we're in where the western world has to continue to consume disproportionately more and more. The fact is that when you do the math you find that the entire worlds population can fit comfortable in a house with a yard in an area the size of Texax. We have plenty of resources.

  • i think we should sterilize every child thats under the age of 10.

  • It certainly is a taboo subject, the far-right and their religious cohorts do a great deal to forbid any mention of population reduction and to limit the availability of birth-control.

I fail to see what is so shocking about encouraging people to make sensible and informed reproductive choices that would increase the quality of life for millions of human beings.

The work of extreme-right conspiracy theorists contributes to the problem as well.

  • This fucked eugenics shit make me sick!

  • Comment removed

  • Jane Goodall is simply brilliant

  • The lack of action is just a bunch of nonsense.

I think that the elderly should be executions.

  • Pick a person who does not have children to talk about overpopulation next time.

  • @faunos51 I don't think SHE picked who to talk to. We picked to watch her.

  • @HuskerSeaofRed well, that's another way to put it.

  • The economic prognosis for survival is directly proportional to the number of kids that you have; feminism 101. Some say the more kids, the better your survival rate. The more help from the fathers or state but...then the balance is off. Perception is Cultural. Timely. Convoluted. Farce. Growing your own food vs. senate bill S510. Whether you've tried to live sustainably or not; you are linked. Everyone is now sitting with everyone. The natural order is faster than us. Your video captures it ALL

  • What a charlatan woman... there is no overpopulation...

  • @MGGoblin ????? africa has not enugh land to substain the population it has now.

  • @gethsoftware 1- Get Google Earth and look at the cities in Africa. 2- Look at the huge empty spaces there are. 3- Look at the topsoil being cultivated. 4- You come back here and give Like to my comment, because I'm right. The world is not overpopulated, the world it's just too poor my friend. These video you may like: /watch?v=OXrN9HhnCcM - or talk to agricultural engineers and demographers. This woman is a charlatan.

  • @MGGoblin that is to say if it can be cultivated. the proplem simpy is that africa is very dry. land does not eaqule farming. allso the soil they have is depleded fast. they are simply too many people, and not enugh food.

  • @gethsoftware No no no. Africa is massively depopulated, there are colosal plains of EMPTY space, it's not like Europe where every 300 km. there is a city. There is not "too much people" - there is too few. The problem is not carryng capacity, the problem is poverty.

  • @MGGoblin . capitalism feeds on poverty. there is no hope for the poor as long as this economic system rules most of the world, seven billion people , many of them poor are messing up the world , what can be expected with growing numbers? the problem is not lack of space(that is obvious) the problem is resource depletion and pollution that lowers the quality of our living.

  • Sterilisation.

  • @jeshopk So you're pro-choice. Thank goodness.

  • @jeshopk I assume since you are going against population control, that you are also against abortion too? And you call the people who acknowledge real problems fanatics... You sickos need to get a clue.

  • @jeshopk you are the religious fanatic, aren`t you

  • Society at large is far to sanctimonious to face up to the harsh reality of this imminent global catastrophe. Better to close your eyes & wave your finger at anyone who dares acknowledge the elephant in the room.

  • too bad we don't have educated people like this woman in washington dc

  • It's the test-market of any "free" people: the will to establish governmental eugenics' boards; to fish from bridges; to bury Mom in the basement. The pocks that flush our faces; the crud that aggregates our agri-forms; the holds on stocks; the tendency of women to wash their waist-length hair in the kitchen sink for the sake of convenience—these are what we as men & lesbians file north from as they are in popery's limbo between tolerance & toleration.

  • A great BBC doc, more on this topic at "One Planet, One Child" and "Overconsumpulation"

  • She is abolutely right but the religious zealots of this world won't face the reality of this situation.

  • Thank you, Jane Goodall!

  • She tells the truth. Our planet overpopulated by human and the growth must be stopped. (Which means that no-one should be killed, but the birth rate should be reduced rapidly.)

  • @KristelSitz you are right, but for catholic nutjobs using a condom is the same that murdering a full grown human being

  • @KristelSitz YES!! That's what i keep saying to myself ;D

I'm so proud of you! :B

  • bitch...everyone who´s in favor to overpopulation .. start kiling yourselves...

im in favor to animals and their habitat but controling population??? you damn freaks of nature... now i belive in demons...:(

  • @pinadeiro Maybe watch the video again. Jane makes clear the distinction between overpopulation and population control.

  • They seem to preach about over population in western countries yet, never in 3rd world countries, where the majority of the races breed like bunnies and then european nations are expected to send billions in foreign aid to support them?!

  • The problem with overpopulation is not only about consuming resources. It is the fact that people in themselves are terrible beings - noisy, ugly, stupid, aggresive, ignorant - and...so their presence does not mean only a physical pollution of the environment, but so much also a mental/spiritual pollution. The presence of ordinary people makes Human Life impossible.

  • Great. I'm ready for population control. I'm tired of seeing stupid twits who can't even afford 1 kid go and have 3,4. Then I am forced to kick in and help pay for their bad choices. The dumb are outbreeding the intelligent. That doesn't portend good things for the future of humanity.

  • @hecatesilver There's always someone more intelligent (or someone who thinks they are) and they think the same thing about you. Does that give them the right to kill you?

  • she speaks wisely, ok. but I don't get one thing. how those supposedly 'overpopulated' countries harm the rest of the world when for instance an average African family of 8 to 10 lives on a fraction of what is used up monthly by a middle class European. i guess sth is wrong here. either you say you fear that countries such as India may combine population growth with industrialistion and increase in consumption or you should use overconsumerism instead of overpopulation.

  • @worthywomanpl

They dont use a fraction, developing countries like India and China already are catching up and passing U.S. Yes the U.S. is wasteful but thats not because of development its because our country has been slow to adopt recycling and green programs because its bad for big business. That being said we pollute alot less than we did 30 years ago.

  • i keep wondering if she is a zoophile, getting into the lower primates, or i should say they in her... well in any case thats an important accounting she gives of the 3rd world trash we should be sterilizing EN MASSE!, especially the lowest IQ groups, like negros in africa... and abos in oz... just read RICHARD LYNN'S global IQ charts, a great primer for a massive sterilization campaign... our new motto could be: RETARDS GOTTA GO FIRST!

  • yeah, god is doin suck a great job. 7 billion just about. Whoops, did I say suck??? Hey PenochSucksIt, get a life.

  • Arrogant totalitarian control. The west is decreasing in population as it is, due to personal choice. We have no right to force or pressure anyone to stop having children in the 2 thirds world. Humanism failed with both Stalin, Hitler and Mau. Sadly, here we are are, barely a generation later and it raises its lying, narcisistic, ugly head once again.

Jane should stick to lice eating, feces throwing, canabalistic chimps and leave human population to God.

  • @Enochsawit stalin, hitler and mau humanists? hahahah. i think you need to learn little about philosophy, and if nothing else then i gotta invoke godwins law in here. you are saying that we shuld not control population. that is wrong. we shuld. if you cant feed them, dont breed them. hell. the people whuld control their own populations in there if chatolic church whuld not spread its bullshit claming that contraseption is bad. there are allready too many there, that is why they die.

  • @Enochsawit she's one of the leading anthropologist, so I think that she is more than able to talk about it.

  • A ethical and fair way of reducing all environmental problems to less than half their current level by the end of this century can be found at "One Planet, One Child" or "overconsumpulation"

  • @MrDustock "Overconsumpulation" is not a MYTH. Look it up here on youtube.

  • "- greed is the problem,"

It's not really the only problem. Our ability to adapt and modify our environments allowed us to continue increasing our populations. And competing will still happen regardless since resources are ever limited on earth.

  • Not birth control but DEpopulation

Kissinger's National Security Memorandum 200: "depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World... U.S. economy will require large and increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less-developed countries ... Wherever a lessening of population can increase the prospects for such stability, population policy becomes relevant to resources, supplies and to the economic interests of U.S.”

  • flx789, humans do not demand the rape of the earth - corporate greed does.

Humans live quite simply & happily unless programmed by a clever public relations industry to lust after plastic toys, faster cars, lawns, riding lawnmowers, bigger-bigger-bigger TV monitors, more & more weapons of mass destruction, etc. All that has to be cultivated - and is - for the profit of corporations.

It's insanity, flx. It is foolish to think and assume that corporations are not a problem. Koyaanisqatsi

  • It is foolish to think and assume that overpopulation is not a problem.

  • Is overpopulation the problem? Or is the unwise exploitation and destruction of earth's resources by rapacious corporations the problem?

The current money system demands more and more... consumption and destruction.

People are not the problem -- greedy corporations are the problem...

This unfortunate subject generates a lot of ugliness, including genocide.

Fact is, 7billion people can fit comfortably into the State of Texas.

Find a video called "Overpopulation: The Making of a Myth".

  • @ACIMessentials pro-life people and overpopulation people should unite to hire a professional assasin to kill all those third-world dictators and millionaires to profit from the poor

  • @crazytalkerman - you are living up to your name. :) i'd prefer to see the 'naughties' healed. punishment and murder don't work... they just come back and do it again. healing prevents it from recurring.

  • @RapeOfInnocence I thought it would be a good idea, since some pro-life people think that killing abortion doctors and/or bombing abortion facilities save babies, killing corrupt people in third world countries would save quite a lot more babies

  • @ACIMessentials -Now that we have computers, lets use them OK ? Good ! Go to Google Earth, now go to any big city lets say NYC, OK ? Good ! go down so that you are about airoplane height, and slowly go west, you will start to see how MUCH land that there is,...keep going, keep going, all the way across, then up and down,or north and south, lots of space huh?Do the same in any and every country world wide.Overpopulation?Bullsh!t.

  • @ACIMessentials It isn't the matter of "fitting" people anywhere. My whole family of six can fit in a closet. But how much land do we need to grow our food, to produce our energy and material goods? The video you mention doesn't take resource harvesting into account at all. Absolutely idiotic.

  • @shumila - in a space the size of texas - do the math - each of 7 billion people would have approximately 40'x40'. now, that is if everyone was corralled into texas. but they're not. we have lots more land for everyone. arable land. if corporations didn't rape the land for trees, oil, gas, use chemicals everywhere - it would support farming & gardening. and land can be reclaimed. "The one-straw revolution" by Fukuoko is one approach. there are many possibilities. try being creative.

  • @ACIMessentials I have no patience for people whining about corporations "raping the land". Corporations cater to our needs and, more importantly, our wants. Would you give up electricity, lumber for your home, ready made clothes, jewelry? Take a wedding band for instance. Many have or crave one. But you have to blast (with energy + 5.5 tons of water) and corrode 2 tons of rock (with Hg chemicals) for a single wedding band. Look up book "Confessions of an Eco Sinner". We all sin individually.

  • @shumila - i think there's an entirely different way of thinking and being that is not common and so it eludes most people. we have been programmed to think a certain way. 'try being creative', means 'think lovingly - without fear." you are thinking from fear. we have been taught that happiness comes from having 'things', yet what we REALLY want is contentment, fulfillment, love, peace, joy, etc - and there are many ways to accomplish that end. there is never a need for lack, ever.

  • @ACIMessentials Eh? I assume you at least "want" a computer so you can leave comments on youtube. Do you know the life cycle of a computer? How much environmental degradation each one is worth? What of the coal you and I are burning right now to be online. By "think lovingly - without fear" you mean "ignorance is bliss". We ALL need and want things. Even you. Go be a hermit in the woods and carve yourself an existence from the sweat of your brow. Only then will I believe you need no "things".

  • @shumila - i want EVERYONE to have a computer and universal free energy - technology has been suppressed - did you know that? we could make computers that would last a long time. we are conditioned to think obsolescence is essential; it is not. everyone could always have the best of everything. corporations thrive on outdating things... you are putting words in my mouth. i never said ignorance is bliss nor that i want no things. we neither need to destroy the world nor live in lack.

  • @ACIMessentials its not thinking obsolescence. its planed obselecense. yeah. corporations are in the end imoral systems that only goal is profit. there shuld be laws against planted oblesence.

  • Absolutely! Such clarity. Solving our energy problems is NOT making more windmills and Nuke plants. It is simply smaller populations. Then wars will be unnecessary. War is not a human foible, it is a survival bi-product. When there is nothing to fight over, there is no need to fight. It is a lie to say war is a human weakness. All animals fight over resources when there are too many animals. So, don't dare bring GOD into this. There is no GOD. Only Planet Earth our mother.

  • @aliensoul ---Yeah,only planet earth, our mother and her star the sun.And 15,000,000,000 more stars, with their own earthlike planets in her milkey way,her galexy.Plus 30,000,000,000 other milkey way like galexys.Yup,we are all alone huh ? Fools..............................

  • @billy1212ist

omg! did you go and count all the stars and galaxies? you really think there's more populations out there? youre crazy! you drinking too much water man. you should cure yourself and try tequila with the little live scorpion inside. This will cure your delusions. I have to report you to homeland security. You sound like a bully terrorist, calling people names and stuff. we must hunt you down. you are too danger to society.!!! hahahahaha!!!

  • @billy1212ist

you should take the nuclear salts. I think your brain is infected with the radiation bugs falling all over your brain case. But don't do anything..... please don't do anything. Just continue your mindless ranting and raving. We must get rid of you. You take up valuable space for me. you drink my water and eat my food. You need to disappear from the planet and go live your populations in the sky. You must leave here now.

  • @billy1212ist

we need to know your name.... we will send you a free bag of healthy nambenas. It is very rare and expensive. give us your mailing address so we can send it to you before the USPostOffice is out of business. Too many people to account for. Your Obama is getting ready to stick you into the FEMA camps. Down here we all know about it. This is why we are sending all our criminals and stupid people to the states. Obama is helping us by keeping the borders open. hahahalalala!

  • @billy1212ist

hey kid! I know you are very busy counting the grains of sand on all the beaches of the world, but maybe you should spend some time protesting saving the lives in haiti. The more lives they save, the more jamaican drug lords and slave traders get made. The U.S. is the biggest progenitor of population boom. Bano and Clooney are intefering with natural selection keeping the population in check. Spend time harassing them. I guess you have to finish your counting, huh!

  • @billy1212ist

hey kid!! You should contact Harry Ried overthere in D.C. and help him count. He's not good at counting. Neither is Obama. They can't seem to get a handle on the trillions and trillions and gazillions they are putting you dumb-down americans into debt. It's hilarious to see you americans taking it. You all are going to be streetpeople soon. You guys are doomed, and here you are getting all antzy on how many stars there are. KOOKOO KOOKOO!! Tilt Tilt Tilt!!!!!!

  • @MrDustock 58 national science academies and 5 volumes of peer reviewed papers and journals in the millennium ecosystem assessment disagree with you. The worst overpopulation (unsustainability) is in rich countries.

  • @phillips78 - if we keep doing things the way we've always done them, then you are correct. if we do things differently, then the globe can sustain quite a few more people - and well. what is required is some creative thinking. what i see in eugenicists is not that.

  • @RapeOfInnocence Who said anything about eugenics? The globe cannot even support 7 billion long term based on the losses and damage to ecosystem services already measured by the Millenium ecosystem assessment and the Global Environment outlook 3 which are crammed with peer reviewed scientific papers documenting all these losses. We need people to voluntarily choose to have smaller families (especially in rich regions who consume the most) or there is no chance of everyone escaping poverty.

  • @phillips78 - see video titled - Brzezinski: "Its easier to kill a million people...than it is to control them".

it's true that the destructive habits of corporations cannot be sustained. if you cannot figure out how billions can live well on planet earth, fine. but don't say it can't be done; bow out and let others do it.

who talks about reducing the size of the population? the rich and famous. how to accomplish that? earthquakes, wars, plagues, tainted food, water, air, vaccines...

  • @RapeOfInnocence You have misunderstood again. 58 science acadamies see reducing population growth through voluntary contraception as the key factor in reducing environental damage. No-one needs to die, they just need to choose to use voluntary contraception, the rich need to have smaller families and so does everyone else.

You seem to have been listening to nutcases like alex jones and other conspiracy theorists who make money from gullible people.

  • @phillips78 - it's nice that 58 academies vote for birth control, but seriously, listen to this video: Brzezinski: "Its easier to kill a million people...than it is to control them" - listen carefully to 1) the words and 2) the tone of voice.

the well-educated have smaller families. a solution might be to educate, not just school.

do you also believe that circumcision doesn't hurt babies? that was an agreed-upon, peer-reviewed notion for many years.

people do not destroy; corporations do.

  • @RapeOfInnocence You said "people do not destroy; corporations do" Corporations run on profits generated from public spending. An average american uses 9 global hectares, someone from India barely uses 0.8. Rich people have more of an environmental impact than poor people. BUT, everyone is a consumer. Ecosystem services cannot support 7 billion. With just 1 billion people reacjed through voluntary contrcaption and yep, education plus healthcare everyone could escape poverty.

  • @phillips78 - greed is the problem, phil... greed fuels waste & plunder, wars & murder. imagine, if you will, a world without money where everyone simply has all they need & want without having to compete, to rape the earth for its resources, to destroy. imagine, if you can, everyone being wealthy enough that they have no fear, so there is no corruption or criminality. imagine a world of people who are content without harming anyone or anything. nobody 'needs' all the corporate junk.

  • @RapeOfInnocence Yes greed is a problem and I agree that constant growth is an impossibility on a finite alternative planet. You may be interested in thework of growthbusters-look them up :)

  • @phillips78 - good site, thank you. bottom line is that we have been led to believe that the purpose of life on planet earth is money and pleasure. hubris. intelligence is the ability to think, but wisdom = experience, knowledge, good judgment. currently, money is the name of the game on planet earth, but is it wise to destroy life and life support systems for the sake of money? i guess it boils down to the purpose of life. is it money? pleasure? or is it something deeper?

  • Unkind comments about her here demonstrate just how right Christopher Hitchens is when he says that religion poisons absolutely everything. A discussion about overpopulation leads to hysterical allegations that she's advocating killing hundreds of millions. "Who decides?" and so forth. These are comments from know-nothings stultified by their own superstitious beliefs in bronze-age fairy tales.

  • @sdavis3398 agreed, watch "overconsumpulation" for more info.

  • Stupid cunt, I bet she´s the grandmother of hundredths. How dare she goes to a village and orders them how to live their lives. This bitch is an old witch.

  • @SuperNorthAmerica Primitive peoples require instruction from more intelligent peoples, after all, the primitive peoples lack a historical period of learning.

  • @CayleyBeiseker That is the same thing the first colonist said when they came over to America, and it was the natives that had to save their butts from diseases using holistic medicines. Now in that equation, who were the primitive people? I say the colonist. So, I guess you are right "primitive people lack a historical period of learning"... The indian taught them how to irrigate, farm, and hunt. Without the indian, the colonist would've all died off.

  • @SuperNorthAmerica actually she was offering free voluntray contraception which reduces HIV infection and reduces the impact on teh environment, while allowing women to choose how many kids to have. Are you pro AIDS?

  • @SuperNorthAmerica It is you the are who force your believe to other people, you religious delusional nut-job

  • I deeply respect JG and her work with chimps, however the carbon footprint of a typical "westerner" is 15 to 20 times larger than a typical "third world person" meaning if you have 3 kids in the U.S for instance, they are using the same amount of resources that 45 to 60 kids would use in let's say Bangladesh. Just food for thoughts.

  • @iorr98 And your POINT is?

  • @iorr98 The Carbon footprint of a chinese person is greater than that of every nation except the USA, for another 8 or 10 years that is. China and India combined pollute more than the rest of the planet combined.

  • @CayleyBeiseker That isn't true, an average American uses 9 global hectares per person, someone from Europe uses around 5-6 global hectares and someone from China uses on average 2 global hectares. China's population would need to be 5 times larger to equal the per capita pollution of the US citizen.

  • "They don't want to be controlled..." Nah... They don't want to be killed off because of your stupid theory...

  • @rmaynard626 are you seriously saying that Jane Goodall is stupid??? Really? do you really think that the human race is in any danger of dying out due to lack of procreation? come on!! what we are in danger of is dying out because we have spread like a plague and in doing so destroyed the very thing which gives us life and sustains us....EARTH!! you do realise that we require oxygen to breathe? we require plants and animals to eat and to pollinate other plants etc...YOU my dear are stupid.

  • @mochuisle79 Yeah ...She's stupid... It is greed that is causing the problems that we are experiencing today, not overpopulation. I equate her logic like unto trying to put out a fire with a gasoline. Multinational corporations are the culprits. For them, profit is more important than maintaining earth in the manner in which God has given it to us. What would be the process on reducing the world's population without out right killing large masses of people? More importantly, how decides?

  • @rmaynard626 You ask "What would be the process on reducing the world's population without out right killing large masses of people?"

Birth control, later marriages, just not having children is obviously what she is suggesting. Why do you possibly think she is advocating killing? She never says anything like this.

  • @rmaynard626 So how do corporations force all kinds of people to have children which puts a huge demand on limited resources and where you ultimately do not have the resources to feed everyone? Sounds like a religious fairy tale to me.

  • @CayleyBeiseker I never said that corporations force all kinds of people to have children???? 2ndly, Big corporations own and/or oversee these "limited resources". The land has become contaminated due to all the chemicals that are irrigated into the soil killing off the underground ecosystem that help nourish the soil, which then limits crop growth. God uses insects to nourish the soil. The whole theory is flawed and dangerous.

  • It is like a drowning ship, our world. The people of the ship have the strength to get survive by themselves, But then as you start swimming toward the shore, somebody else grabs on to you. Now you do work for the two. Then somebody else may do the same, until instead of one of you surviving, all of you drown.

  • The aerosolized aluminum oxide propellant that's being sprayed into our stratosphere from tanker jet plains, and utilized in the name of terra-forming and aerial obscuration, is THE cause of Alzheimer's Disease.

  • A marriage of hell & sobriety exists—in order to prosper a man must be sober and consign his perambulations to revised notions that form the laggards' code. As dog-faced eugenicist Jane Goodall wishes: many more of us in physical number shall worship the common monkey—his strength & cunning.

  • @ThingsTerrestrial Wow, Onward Real Discourse So All Lies Are Dead.

  • Evil bitch.

  • Well since that greedy rich chimpanzee fucking bitch was raped and murdered in Africa, that's one less social parasite we need to worry about overpopulating the third world. Too bad every other greedy rich asshole in the optimum population society doesn't seem to want to join her to help solve their problem with the rest of us

  • More on this issue on the video "overconsumpulation".

  • this is more fucked up then what the stormfront nuts think

  • WTF???!! They said that there's negative population growth in Europe and positive in Africa, and that it's "unbalanced." Are they racists?

  • such a difficult and divisive issue. i am a financial analyst and invite you to constructively debate a proposal i have been researching over the past few years. please note i will not be participating, and there is no ad revenue on my site. feel free to debate anywhere you like. perhaps like me, you are frustrated by apparent lack of ideas.

its not possible to post links here, hopefully some of are you able to find the populationidea site, type as is.

  • By saying "Overpopulation in the Developing World " she just got put on the NWO's s@#$ list, everyone knows the only hemishpere that deserves this kind of attention is the "west"... There's sustainable ways of producing a s@#$ ton of food, instead we genetiaclly modify crops to produce 3 times the amount of poison we spray on them then we ask ourselves, "where did all these detrimental "diseases come from?" While at the same time subsidize farmers to not grow food, so as not to flood the market.

  • WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE JANE TO SAVE THIS WORLD

  • Sterilize the third world including nations like China and India. I went to China and literally was sick for a week due to the air pollution caused by the over consumption and population. In a baffling twist of economic logic, it seems the poorer people are the more they tend to reproduce and the higher their incomes are the less. In some of these Sub-Saharan African, South East and Middle East nations they have ridiculous rates of birth like 6.7 children per women. Sterilize now!

  • @theone1087

    "Sterilize now! "

Can I sterilize you, by force? [Snip Snip]

  • For more on this issue see "Overconsumpulation-Overpopulation is NOT a myth"

  • chop their balls off. stop children from starving to death

  • Well, fortunately jet-setting Dame Jane will depart this world soon enough. She probably uses more energy getting the cork in and out of her ass than half the population of Africa combined.

  • I'm glad I didn't have someone like JG as a teacher.

  • I suggest people look up "overconsumpulation-Overpopulation is NOT a myth" or the BBC's "how many people can live on Planet Earth" for more info on the topic.

  • if poor people would STOP reproducing, THEY WOULDNT BE SO POOR! feeding poor people is just going to let them live long enough to reproduce and drive themselves into deeper poverty.

  • @facemadness

No this isn't the root cause of poverty. It's the rich that are taking all of the resources for them selfs and forcing everybody else to suffer. It's better for poor people to stay poor because they don't waste as much resources which in turns make the Earth resources last longer in the future.

  • what a knucklehead. she cares more about chimpanzees than people. fact is, the population increase is constantly declining to the point where the peak population is estimated to be around 9 billion. if there are too many people who has to go "dr" goodall? you? your family? are they overpopulating the earth?

there are dozens of governments trying to get people to have more children.

NONE are telling people to stop having kids.

Go back to the jungle with your fellow primates.

  • @phil8888 My God, what a moron you are. She's not saying we should kill anyone. We just shouldn't have more. PERIOD. End of discussion. If you want to have kids, then take responsibility for them suffering through war, starvations and other problems because of needing food that other people will have to take. To prevent this, we all need to stop having kids! At least for 10 years. And then we can start again. But not have so many kids per person as people have now. Ever.

  • @vgman94 haha, obviously you don't know anything about demographics. the PROBLEM in most places now is a fertility rate that is TOO LOW. the main reason for the population increase now is people are living longer. the problem is that there are not enough young workers to support the elderly population. Not having children will mean an even worse situation. young people increase productivity. the world is nowhere near overpopulated. the most densely populated areas are usually thriving!

  • Not at all. The average birth rate in the US for example is 3 kids. And a lot of people in my state have 3-5 kids. There's more children then adults and that's a problem. What you're talking about are economics. What I'm talking about is ecology. We're destroying environments & many species for our selfish uses. This is a crme against the animal kingdom AND ourselves. As 1 house can feed 4 people. But with 9, they'd starve. We're too populated now and you think we're not. Who can think this way?

  • @vgman94 the fertility rate in the US is 2.1. 2.1 is the bare minimum level for replacement. Any lower and you have population decline. The US is a rarity in the Western world when it comes to fertility. It has the highest rate. Every other country is much lower, some approaching 1. There is enough food on Earth to feed 12 billion people. The problem is not production, it's war and greed, which causes famine.

There was much more starvation 300 years ago when there were about 1/20th the people.

  • @phil 2.1? Tell that to my state... If you count people who have lived here for more than 2 generations, then maybe you're right. But you discount immigration and new settlers. Who the Hell wants 12 billion people?! We've already destroyed a few dozen species thanks to our overbreeding. Why make more? And where I live, it's already overpopulated. And not by smart people. A good part of it is greed, but having less kids helps the amount of food per person. So Overpop has a good part.

  • @vgman94 the amount of food available to feed people is not dependent on population, hence why when the population was 100 million, far more people died of starvation. We have 6 B people, but enough food for double that number. If you believe that humans are just a problem on the Earth, then you should advocate an extermination program. I, however, believe humans have a special place on this earth and a right to be here. How dare you say we are less important than animals.

  • @phil8888 Not dependant on population?! Shows how much you know about science, or even logic for that matter. Look up carrying compacity and environmental degradation and actually read a few articles. Also, look at how humans treat each other. Watch the documentary Earthlings to see how we treat animals. With all our problems, our potential and specialness goes down to below animals. Animals don't hate each other for beliefs. Few kill for fun. And what REAL quality do we have that animals don't?

  • @phil8888 the TFR worlwide is 2.53, well above replacement rate, in addition the consumption per capita is rising and it is a multiplication of population by consumption per capita that counts when analysing impact on the planet. A temporary drop in population through voluntary contraception and smaller families is a good thing while we are increasing consumption per capita. If one increases the other must fall or impact increases exponentially.

  • @checkyoursources I believe the 2.53 figure overall. However, in some places, there is underpopulation or lack of population growth which is the cause of major problems. As proof, many countries offer incentive programs for people to have more children. It makes sense logically. People are living longer, around 80 in western countries. If they retire at 60, that's 20 yrs where they must be supported. If the next generation is half the size, 3rd half that, etc. then it's top-heavy and unsustainbl

  • @phil8888 A falling population in one area is irrelevant if the overall population is still rising unless of course you think one person is more important than another?

in the west we use 20-30 times more resources per capita (and should reduce our impact if we want others to escape poverty with their own fair share) so a fall in population in these areas is nothing to be worried about for now.The Earth can support just 2 billion long term at European levels of consumption per person.

  • @checkyoursources

I must tell you though. Your arguements are a little outdated, but they are as good as, or even better than, the spokesperson for NASA/Goddard Space Center. You should contact him and fill him in on what he doesn't seem to know about the propagation of the AGW HOAX.

Thank you for getting me prepared to clober this guy when I stumbled across him spouting a bunch of crap. I knew what he was going to say before he said it thanks to you.

  • @checkyoursources

And let me ask you. How do you feel about NASA's shift in policy to identify COAL as the primary cause of AGW and that oil, and gas are not a problem? Remember me telling you that the oil industry wrote the cap and trade laws to put coal (40% of our nations energy) out of business? How do you feel about NASA shifting their rhetoric to accomadate this shift in politics? And note T. Boone Pickens at the Aspen Center pushing AGW despite ownership in Natural Gas. Remember?

  • @FreeinTX If NASA shifted, it's because coal has is about to become the primary fossil fuel used in the world, (mainly due to it's increased use in power stations in the MEDC's overtaking oi within the next two years, not because of politics.

No amount of evidence is going to convince someone like you of how AGW is the current most likely explanation for recent rapid warming is it?

It appears that your dislike of policy has dissolved your objectivity on the science.

  • @phil8888 "I believe the 2.53 figure overall."

You shouldn't. World TFR is now 2.46. (CIA World Factbook; 2011 estimate)

  • @EasingDifficulties you said, "You make no sense."

Maybe I'm just not being clear. I only get 500 character segments to make very complicated arguements. Its difficult sometimes. What do you NOT understand? There are about 6000 people that want a one world government where THEY are in charge, cannot be voted out, and run everything! To reach this goal, they need to lower population by 80-99.9% THEIR STATED GOAL!

  • @FreeinTX Stated by whom? please quote directly where this has been said, not from a blog, I mean direct from their mouth. You've been listening to Alex Jones too much, haven't you. Your paranoia is extreme.

  • @checkyoursources The well over a dozen "-gates" were from an AP article entitled, "What to say to a global warming alarmist"

Every single one of those "-gates" are documented and sourcable! Every week, new information is coming out about the fraud.

  • @FreeinTX Oh great, a media source, the media is never influenced by opinion and politics more than anyone else! Try using some peer reviewed papers written by people who know something.

  • @checkyoursources

    Give me some more time.

    I have a nasa scientist from Goddard Space Center, ADMITTING;

    1. No change in temps for 13 YEARS!

    2. AGW is NOT provable unless we go to the moon and take samples.

    3. That weather stations went from 6000 to 1500 in number and that the measurements were not dependable or reconcilable.

    4. That 25 people from a known dis-info group SOLELY reconciled the sateillite data that is used.

    5. The best. That oil and gas are NOT a concern to AGW.

  • @FreeinTX 1) NASA actually says 2000-2009 was the warmest decade on record and warmer than the previous decade.

    2) you don't "prove" theories, you reduce uncertainty in them. This is basic science, please catch up.Most theories are acted upon at 90% certainty, we have 95% for AGW.

    3) NASA's GISTEMP analysis, the CRUTEM analysis, and an analysis by NOAA's NCDC are independent of each othe and their software independently tested. 4

    4) rubbish

    5) even more rubbish.

    Climateate: The Lion That Squeaked

    Dr. Compton Tucker

    NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center

One of those "deniers" teaching our children about the Global Warming HOAX! Where is he from? NASA! Goddard Space Center! Check YOUR sources! They are being exposed more and more every day!

  • @FreeinTX The fact that 6000 people want less people in the world doesn't invalidate the fact of overpopulation. If those "secret organizations" are planning a population reduction, then because they think it's necessary. Or what would you think? That they want to reduce the very same population that makes them rich - for no reason? I can't follow your logic. And what's the problem with 60 million people on earth anyway? This would be great.

  • @MillyVanillification You said, "The fact that 6000 people want less people in the world doesn't invalidate the fact of overpopulation."

Your right! However, the FACT that you have NOTHING to back up the claim that the world is overpopulated DOES! Based on what do you draw the conclusion that the Earth is overpopulated or even faces that problem?

  • @MillyVanillification

You said, " If those "secret organizations" are planning a population reduction, then because they think it's necessary. Or what would you think? "

They want 500 MILLION people because that is the highest amount of people they can control without worry of being taken out of power! An unelected FASCIST world government run by 6000 masters, and 500 MILLION 3rd world desperately empoverished SLAVES incapable of resisting the NEW WORLD ORDER!!!

  • Watch "overpopulation is not a myth"

  • @checkyoursources

You said, "Watch "overpopulation is not a myth""

What is it based on? A bunch of speculative predictions that were based on facts and figures that had been skewed for political expedience! Just like the AGW hockey stick graph and the peak oil senarios. But take note, every year after their "facts" ended and their speculation began, every year, they are more and more inaccurate! NO temp increase, not spikes in temp! A DECLINE in oil demand not a rise! More oil supplies!

  • @FreeinTX According to the comments it was based on: Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, NASA, NOAA, the most recent IUCN Red data list, Oregon state university study: Family planning: A major environmental emphasis, UNFPA, gapminder, world resources institute data.

2000-2009 was the warmest decade on modern record according to NASA, NOAA, the met office, the japanese space agency, EEA, DEFRA and every independent meteorological society out their. next.

  • @checkyoursources YOu said, "2000-2009 was the warmest decade on modern record according to NASA, NOAA, the met office..."

First, you highlight RATE, then you talk about warmst decade on record. The HEAD OF THE IPCC said that there has been NO SIGNIFiCANT INCREASE IN TEMP since 1996, which means, even if 2000-2009 WAS the warmest, which it has been shown to NOTY be true, it does NOT mean that it was significantly hotter or that the RATE, the term YOU highlighted, was signigficant!

  • @checkyoursources

2nd - I listed TWO DOZEN examples where scientists were CAUGHT lieing about their data, changing data, disposing of inconvienient data, making data up, closing data stations that were not convienient, on and on. Other examples that showed that organizations like the MET, NASA, NOAA, JSA, and etc were being used by their governments to promote the bunk science.

Stop being an IDIOT and start doing the research!

  • @FreeinTX There is no need for speculations. Our population figures are well known and well founded.

Each human being needs an avg of 8 european acres (80000m2) for living This includes crops, streets, parking lots, living areas, water, mines, woods, etc. The Americans need 50, Europeans 22 and the Indians 2 acres per capita. Just calculate that against the soil available for planting crop and you will understand why there is talk about a limit.

TOTAL B-LLSH-t! Made up by a bunch of GLOBALIST AGENDA SCUMBAGS that seek ONLY to cut decent paying manufacturing in free nations and send the industry to SLAVE WAGED FASCIST countries for the exploitation of their labor! Stated goal of the UN's 5-5-5 project!
