metaphor for the pains of growing up me thinks. he gets taller as balloons pop, buildings are made out of classified adds. Evil characters look like the dark stranger character forced in little kids faces when they are 5-7ish years old.

wow! 10,000 dollars and a whole lotta opportunities! This short has a very adult theme to me. It means that we all go through hard times growing up but you have to try your best not to forget who you are inside.

Maybe balloons represents the child's innocence and pieces represent the life, the society, humans who destroy it (our innocence) by little. AS we can see, he tried to keep his balloons but he can't escape from it, thats life. Now he is "corrupted" as the others as us. Whatever i like this vid

Shocking? OUTRAGEOUS! I would have paid to see that one! Brilliant - and flawless - its a mini masterpiece that should return feature films from schlock advertisements to real entertainment of a cartoon and trailers before the feature - this is incredible.

This is why I love animation voice over - and now I know who to bother for weeks upon risk of arrest to seek to work with!

Rock on! This is the best little gem I've seen in a very long time. I'm inspired again!

I really like the ambiance, the sound designer has done a great job indeed. But besides the sound: the animation, the story AND the sound are very well blended into a small masterpiece.

Why is all on vfs about the bad bad evil in the world???

And why is it allways black or white? The kid and the balloons white, the deamons black?

Everyone has his own evil and his own good inside himself.

And if someone turn into evil, it's cause the hatred, maybe the fear in his heart and not because somethink from the outside make him do.

So in the real world, the kid could've choose if he wanne turn into a baloon popper -.-

This was my interpretation. Balloons + Kid = Joy. People without happiness/balloons try to take it from others hence the child's transformation with the popping of each balloon. It doesn't make the sad people any happier so they go an find another person to leach the happiness from.

The child over cherishes his last bit of happiness and eventually wears it out.
