Gestern abend war über Magdeburg eine Aurora borealis zu sehen, vermutlich wegen dem Sonnensturm.

This is no where near real time! In real time you don't see the stars turning around because of the Earth's rotation, and you don't have the clouds racing across the sky like this.

Let's get more aurora videos in true real time to better show what the it actually looks like. But otherwise a nice video, after all.

hab im juni/august was von starken sonnenstürmen,und mögichen PL's gelesen...bin 2-3 tage lang abends von fenster zu fenster gerannt, aber nichts war zu sehen...gibt es hier in südwesten überhaupt möglichkeit sowas zu sehen

ich hab sie schon mal live gesehen in meinem Urlaub auf Island, des war voll geil, nicht nur die lichter waren genial sondern auch die landschaft ist wunderschön, natur wohin man blickt, und die menschen sind auch sehr freundlich :)

omg, nice coloring. i wouldn't be surpized if this shot was taken around christmas. the aurora borealis is such a fasinating subject to me, in 6th grade i had to do a project explaining what the aurora was, what caused it, etc.

my friend...the Aurora Borealis...occurs only from september 2 october and from march 2 april...it is pretty rare and it happens at the dawn...plus...it happens around the north and south poles...it didnt actually happen in any country, its just that u can see them from certain countries... =]

Hallo Aleakhala, der Film besteht aus Einzelaufnahmen von jeweils 30 Sekunden Belichtungszeit, erstellt mit einer digitalen Spiegelreflex-Kamera mit hoher Empfindlichkeit.

Hierdurch erzeugt man eine leichte Aufhellung der nächtlichen Szene. Eine Farbbearbeitung habe ich jedoch nicht vorgenommen, die Farben sind auch so in der Nacht zu sehen gewesen - ein überwältigender und ergreifender Eindruck eines einmaligen Naturschauspiels, das in der Intensität in D nur selten zu sehen ist.

das Aufnahmedatum steht im Begleittext:

"Der 60 Sekunden lange Film ist bei dem starken Ereignis am 8. November 2004 entstanden."

Das Ereignis war seinerzeit bestimmt rund um den Globus in sehr vielen Ländern zu beobachten, da es sich um einen extrem starken Ausbruch handelte.

Im Moment ist leider Sonnenflecken-Minimum angesagt, da müssen wir noch bestimmt 2-3 Jahre auf neue Polarlichter warten, bis die Vorraussetzungen wieder einigermaßen gut sind.

if god created aurora borealis... why is there nothing in the bible about it... or about any other logical things from space? these wonderful pictures are a sideeffect or pure science... there is no evidence that any kind of god or higher power other then the natural powers have anythink to do with it... i dont wanna make your religion down... but people who see this shouldnt think that this is proven gods work at is seems from your comment

maybe you are right it is just situation when is -40 grade cold and sun rays are creating this forms and colors. And 1 more if you don't trust in god than let others

you see...the aurora borealis is created by sun rays colliding with the ionosphere in the 2 cold regions which creates rays of energy...

apparently...the sun rays hits the cold regions of the world when its dawn at ur country..which is also known as the south and north pole...

at around 2004 i saw what appeared to be northern lights here in england, both me and a friend saw it for around 2 minutes in a northern direction... when we told other people about it they didnt believe we had seen it, after seeing this video i believe that possibly at some point in 2004 northern lights came extra far south and was visible in many places even here in england...!

Yeah, it's got to be possible in England. about 7 or 8 years ago, I even saw the Northern lights in California, which is hundreds of miles south of the UK (even Germany for that matter). I was so confused, I'd never seen such a thing!

People don't seem to think of Germany as being "north," yet they'll think of Minnesota (where I live) as being north... The city I live in northern Minnesota (Duluth) is 7 degrees south of Hamburg and Berlin, and we see the Northern Lights. You don't haev to be at the North Pole to see it!
