@xFordyyy I asume you mean the Hauppauge HD PvR. Probably not as that only has a component input. the Blackmagic Intensity Pro supports both component and HDMI and has HDMI passthrough to TV. So it superior and cheaper than the HD PvR.

@xFordyyy of course the HD PvR is external, and doesnt require you to open up your PC. So if you're not comfortable opening your PC, then the PvR is probably a better choice. However if you are fine with opening your PC, then get the intensity pro. It will allow you much more options for capturing videos.
