I've said it on another video, and I'll say it again. I find it interesting that so many people get up in arms because Meiko didn't say anything about Len switching places with Rin. Because Rin never understood the true pain of watching someone you love die in front of you. She knew that the servant (Len) wouldn't give Rin up and realized that by going along with it, Rin would suffer the greatest punishment of all.
I have to admit, it was pretty smart that Meiko thought it through like that, because if Rin's killed, then she wouldn't have regretted anything because she would be dead. Even though Len's death was unneccesarily depressing ;A;
In the end, in my opinion I think that Meiko knew that it was the servant, not the real princess one way or another, but she did not care, she wanted the evil princess to suffer the same thing as she did...

I still believe it's possible for her not to have thought too much into Len's death. I mean, your at the castle, with the rebellion army, there's a guy who looks exactly like the princess and wears the princess's clothes, what else to do? I mean, Len wanted Rin to live. @Krina531 Yeah, in a way. Because in the story, Allen (Len) is Jermille (Meiko)'s adopted brother. That's probably why she was able to tell that Allen was taking Rillianne (Rin)'s place. She had to kill a lot of people, and she doesn't feel that she's such a heroine as people call her.

It wasn't justice, it was an oridinary murder. It's a huge difference between killing the responsible one than just her servant, who tried to protect her sister. In that case, Meiko acted like Rin. At first, she hadn't thought of that, but later she realised.

The only one in this story that was truly good was probably Haku Yowane (Daughter of White). Even Miku Hatsune (Daughter of Green) had her problems, what with her loving Len (Servant of Evil) but agreeing to marry Kaito (Prince of Blue), thus causing distress in Len-- and she committed suicide with his knife.

This is the first time I've watched daughter of vengance... And honestly I was disappointed. I was expecting more out of meiko than the same song as daughter of evil only with changed lyrics..
@iMikeru That's largely due to the fact that Daughter of Vengeance as well as Daughter of Green and Prince of Blue were fan made songs based off the original songs by mothy.
@iMikeru well, it's not an "official" version because Mothy didn't make it. someone else used Mothy's song and changed the voice and lyrics. the "official" songs by Mothy are Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Regret Message, Daughter of White, and Re_Birthday. and all of them have a different tune.
Meiko didn't know Len was dressed as the princess. The song is a narrative, only the parts in the "..." are Meikos dialogue.
It makes it less confusing to people who have never watched Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Regret Message and Story of Evil if it is layed out as a narrative so they don't get lost and think, "Wait... What the hell is going on?"
Despite this not being an official Vocaloid PV, I very much enjoyed the Meiko interpretation.

This is not part of the original series but I think I still listen to it because I like her voice XD; I kinda wish those who made these fanbranches of the story would at least use a different melody...would have made them much more interesting. To me at least XD don't flame me for my opinion lols
I'm sorry but this song is not tottaly correct, She did not want reveng on rin for the death of her 'love' but the death of her father. Her father was the head of the royal guard. but he made things happen behind rin's back, and she found out about it. so one night she asked him to come to her room, the next day len was seen standing by the river side by his dead body, and a few hours later meiko came and saw the dead body, and mourned for her dead father. That is when her revenge was sworn.
Rin sought revenge too, because she had the Green Princess who "stole" her love killed, so she was, in a way, also getting revenge. This is why I think Meiko realizes that they are the same, and that she is no better than Rin, because although she saved a country of starving, angry people, who did she do it for?
The answer is herself.
So she realized she wasn't a hero, she was a daughter of vengeance, just like Rin.

I love how NO ONE in the Daughter of Evil Saga is completely innocent. Each character is flawed and dirty. Rin makes numerous atrocities. Len Kills Miku. Kaito is a narcissistic warlord. Miku plots to turn the kingdom of blue against the yellow kingdom. Meiko takes her anger out on Len and kills him even though she knows its not Rin.
Even the most innocent character, Haku, tried to kill Rin. Still... Haku's as clean as it gets in this story, as she spares Rin (due to Len and her own empathy).
Well, in Meiko's defence, Len killed her father for not paing taxes. So When she relised that Len let Rin escape, she killed him fro revenge and to teach Rin what it's like to loose a beloved family member.
@Krescentwolf That's part of what makes the story so interesting. Every character is well developed in a 3-8 minuet song and as a whole the story stands by itself forgetting the fact that they're lovely pieces musically.

@EeveelutionStorm Well Rin was a spoiled brat. I mean if someone killed a person who was special to you, who's to say you wouldn't do the same. We're all human and all capable of the same things. :\ Also, Len decided to take the blame for Rin. Rin totally could have spoken out at the execution but didn't because she was concerned about her well being, which she realizes was wrong in "Message of Regret." But meh, I don't think Meiko was justified in this. Only that her reasons were understandable

@Worsteverything I know but think about it she was raised to be evil and Meiko found out Len was disguised as Rin and could have very well gone after the real Rin but instead killed Len....Yes she could have spoken out but who's to say they both would not have been killed? Yeah...She wasn't justified but she had her reasons... I still don't like her.

The only one in this story that was truly good was probably Haku Yowane (Daughter of White). Even Miku Hatsune (Daughter of Green) had her problems, what with her loving Len (Servant of Evil) but agreeing to marry Kaito (Prince of Blue), thus causing distress in Len-- and she committed suicide with his knife.
Maiko was the daughter of vengeance-- revenge itself is also evil. "I will become evil if that is what it takes to get revenge for my love." "Now we are the same."

Meiko didn't know Len was dressed as the princess. The song is a narrative, only the parts in the "..." are Meikos dialogue.
It makes it less confusing to people who have never watched Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Regret Message and Story of Evil if it is layed out as a narrative so they don't get lost and think, "Wait... What the hell is going on?"
Despite this not being an official Vocaloid PV, I very much enjoyed the Meiko interpretation.

I'm sorry but this song is not tottaly correct, She did not want reveng on rin for the death of her 'love' but the death of her father. Her father was the head of the royal guard. but he made things happen behind rin's back, and she found out about it. so one night she asked him to come to her room, the next day len was seen standing by the river side by his dead body, and a few hours later meiko came and saw the dead body, and mourned for her dead father. That is when her revenge was sworn.

Rin sought revenge too, because she had the Green Princess who "stole" her love killed, so she was, in a way, also getting revenge. This is why I think Meiko realizes that they are the same, and that she is no better than Rin, because although she saved a country of starving, angry people, who did she do it for?
The answer is herself.
So she realized she wasn't a hero, she was a daughter of vengeance, just like Rin.

Meiko was full of anger towards Rin for killing all her loved ones. She didn't care what Len had done, she just wanted revenge on the Queen. Even with Len she'd at least still have a win against Rin by taking someone she was close to. Emotions cloud your logical thinking sooo... Yeah I don't think she thought that all the way through. She really shouldn't have killed him but she did out of blind emotion

Go Meiko! I love it when she's so badass in most vids, she sounds so cool here, I have to admit this is better then Miku or Kaito's version. But I still love the original by Rin XD. I know she regretted killing Len since she cried in the end. It's Rin's fault after all, killing her love ones and stuff... :/ Put all that aside this is an awesome story.. >:D

I think that the reason she killed Len is because thats what he wanted. He wanted to protect Rin with all his heart, so she honered his wish and kill him instead.

I love how NO ONE in the Daughter of Evil Saga is completely innocent. Each character is flawed and dirty. Rin makes numerous atrocities. Len Kills Miku. Kaito is a narcissistic warlord. Miku plots to turn the kingdom of blue against the yellow kingdom. Meiko takes her anger out on Len and kills him even though she knows its not Rin.
Even the most innocent character, Haku, tried to kill Rin. Still... Haku's as clean as it gets in this story, as she spares Rin (due to Len and her own empathy).

Well, in Meiko's defence, Len killed her father for not paing taxes. So When she relised that Len let Rin escape, she killed him fro revenge and to teach Rin what it's like to loose a beloved family member.

I saw the daughter of white after this one and I know Rin doesnt die. or thats what I understood at least. there are just so many versions of this song.

Well, I kinda thought there was a big gap to the Kagamine story, like how Len has a deeper voice and he is flat for a boy. I suspected when he hightened his voice he sounded like Rin and Rin might be a NO CHEST. But this makes MUUUUCH more sense :D
