Documentary a little sloppy in places. It's a little too pro-christian to be considered truly impartial - examples include the constant references to jesus as a historical figure (far from a historical fact) and the reference to constantine "accepting" christianity (as if it were some kind of proven fact).

The facts generally seem fairly well represented, but it's definitely a little partial - perhaps for the sake of making it more palatable to it's audience?

gah... they had a HUGE mistake. Constantine was not a christian when he held the Council of Nicea. He was forced to be converted in his death bed, but he remained a practicing Pagan all of his life, and only converted as the last nail to the coffin the council placed humanity in... most likely he was preassured to convert, but I bet he died a Pagan at heart.

I love how the History Channel aims for the lowest common denominator. I enjoy the stories they tell but always take it with a grain of salt. I had to study the Documentary Hypothesis from those who agreed with it, but we finally came to the conclusion that there are too many faults and historical inaccuracies for the Documentary Hypothesis to be true.

Kitchen - google books has a lot of it, this guy dominates as he has a Ph.D. in Egyptology and Theology and is very straight with his answers, he almost has no respect for those of the Documentary Hypothesis and talks about them as if they will never read his stuff. Just read it, I love it because he has no respect for those who come to these conclusions and only has respect for historical evidences.

For me the "isms" influence too much, and of course there are contradictions and mistranslations. It would be suspicious if it didn't have them. Jesus spoke 90% in metaphor. I see much of the same in the Old Testament, aside from histories. I do not require lab perfection to receive the gift of faith that I received from the contents.

Came here to watch an interesting video that I missed on cable. And what do I find? Ppl. that claim belief in a god wishing the others that dont believe exactly like them be pushed off of a cliff. Thats probably why religion is losing credibility. If you want to represent your faith it would be wiser to use honey than vinegar; i.e. through your deeds.
