is that a B flat major 7th add 9th or is it a 6 9 chord at the post return of chord progression...did Jimi use that in the original recording, as well...I don't recall that he did.

Anyways, good show on your part to add some originality to the cover version. Yeah, Jimi was quite different in that he interspeced a lot of jazz chordings and voicing into his blues playing.

Most peeps don't realize that.
