ncap say WITH OPTIONAL SIDE AIRBAGS IT IS 5/5 SAFETY RATING WITHOUT THEM IT'S 4/5 STAR SAFETY RATING, WHICH IS STILL GOOD!

so they build cars with above 2.0 lt and not much HP.

in europe we have economic cars with less than 1.6 lt with turbo and kompressor  more powerfull and safe !!!

I think it depends on where you buy it. I mean I bought the new Ford Ka and I have frontal airbags and sideairbags in the seat incl. knee airbags. What surprises me is the technical variation of the Ka from country to country. Mine is bought in DK and comes with Airbags as mentioned, ESP, Hill assist, CD player, AUX jack but in Germany the basic model like mine has neither.They're all add-ons to purchase seperately

the old KA from I believe 2007 has aux-port on the stereo.

Seems daft that all new KA models dont have it.

you would surfive and walk away. when you are travelling at 40mph, and you see a car coming towards you, you do tend to slow down a bit when you hit the breaks. & on the side inpact, that was on the basic studio version of the ford ka, if you go to the Syle/+ or Zetec you can have side and curtain airbags, i think, or their at small opitional extra. over all, i personally, think this should deserve a 5 star.

fords are starting to improve, but build quality is poor. doesnt even have side airbags as standard and its 2008, lookes like a vauxhall corsa to me
