  • very smart what bird acadamey did she attend?

  • great job

  • Hi. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your very educational video. I, too, had a nest of robins in my back yard. I could notice the parents' comings and goings to build the nest. On the day the babies were born, I heard them singing. Later, I was able to notice many other birds who came to visit them. Their singing was stupendous. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see when the babies took off, but your video enlightened me. Congratulations. You're a real pro who works with lots of love.

  • Nice job Dave, I have a nest on my balcony and couldn't figure out the type of bird until I stumbled across this video, they are robbins, but the beaks are a bit longer on mine. I'm anticipating seeing the little ones fly off and the whole process. Thanks Again.

  • Unbelievable that you captured all of this!!! Thank you for sharing!!!! Beautiful to witness!! It mustve been a labor of love because I dont know how you persevered while waiting for the final baby to take flight. :D

  • Beautiful recording ........ Thanks !!!! I watched this as I had a nest in my garden and noticed they all flew away this weekend .... I wondered what happened when they took the first flight ......so this helped my imagination

    amazing stuff !! Gods Miracle

  • You did an excellent job filming this video! Mother Nature is so amazing. I have several bird houses in my yard and have watched many eggs hatch. One time when the babies decided to fly from their house one landed right on my shoulder and sat there. I had a yellow shirt on......told my husband maybe they thought I was big bird.

  • Excellent job! Thank you for this great video!

  • awesome video. I just had 4 eggs hatch on my back porch (only 3 survived, it was the shortest necked one), but the mom didn't stick around whenever I wanted to shoot video of her feeding, and I never once saw the dad. lol Didnt even know the dad stuck around until I watched your video. I didnt get to see mine fly either since I had to go out of town for a funeral. Ive been telling all the ppl watching my pix on FB that I have empty nest syndrome too. lol Great job.

  • Nice job. I appreciate your patience. Check out my robin video on Vimeo called Robins - 4 Eggs, 4 Weeks

  • This is amazing, it amazes me how it all comes as instinct to them. I always see nests around my house, but they are high up so I cant see them. but next time, I might try and look.

  • Awesome video... thank you for having the time and the patience for doing a great job !

  • A robin

  • rabinswerebornatmyhoesbfoe

  • cool video

  • well done dave : )

  • im feeling dejavu

  • Truly great vid, thks for sharing this miracle of creation! God bless!

  • I would had kicked them out the nest ad stomped them like Fu.ckers don't have baby near my house

  • @rondaddy10 you should die you fucker.....

  • @beardieboy123 I Was Only Jokin You Pussy

  • @rondaddy10 fail.

  • Great vid, but you shouldn't have been so close. Stress can really screw with their immune systems.

  • I hope you didn't get too close to the nest :(

  • What a beautiful video, thanks a lot!

  • when there was a robin nest on a window ledge at my house my went to the back yard and the birds learning to fly chased him out

  • THIS IS WAY OVER THE YOUTUBE TIME LIMIT!

  • @Goopycrunchi681 You tube removed the (10 minute) time limit in Aug of 2009 :) (to compete with Hula, according to USA today.

  • TY for this wonderful video! We have a robin's nest that had 4 eggs but can only see 2 babies so far - the nest was built in our clematis vine and the weight of the chicks made it fall -( the nest ended up on a precarius angle and fully exposed) so we have tried to prop it up without disrupting anything . Hopefully the chicks are ok...

  • thanks for this video. I have 3 robin babies (although there were 4 eggs...strange!) and the mom and dad don't seem to mind me at all. I give a little whistle and have been doing that since they started building the nest. I throw some meal worms out there and they eat it up!

  • all three of the robins chicks left the nest under my deck, and are now all feeding themselves. Every morning at 5;30am they come up to the side of the deck together, and practice hunting for worms. Luckily I live next to a church with a sour cherry tree in their court yard, because the babies are not too skilled at catching any worms yet. the parents just ignore them now. The male robin keeps guarding the deck, so I think that the female just might nest there a second time this summer.

  • That was a fantastic video, oh my God!! how much patience you got to shoot such a nice video. Thanks for sharing.

  • I went outside today to take pics of the bird. I felt bad because i could tell that the baby was scared. She was breathing so hard and you could tell her heart was pounding. And when the father bird saw me, he went crazy! He was shrieking while looking directly at me. I said that i was sorry to the father and i walked back inside.

  • Right now, there is a bluejay nest in my back yard. Two days ago, one of the babies fell out! We discovered the fallen baby because my cat was creeping on the baby bird when the mother and father bird literally started to swoop down as if they were to attack the cat. They never really touched the cat. But we got the cat inside. We aren't allowed to let my cat or dog out right now. We are trying to keep the baby as safe as possible until she learns to fly.

  • Robins nest in the strangest places. I have one nesting under my deck which is only three feet from the ground. I never thought that a robin would nest so low. All I have to say is she has some guts to risk her life. So far so good, her three chicks are due to leave next Tuesday.

  • Fascinating video. I watched the whole thing. There is a robin building her nest in our crepe myrtle tree. I cannot wait to see the babies.

  • what a beautiful family

  • WOW! What an awesome video, thanks for sharing.

  • that was awsome what did u do with the nest on the power meter did u keep it?

  • , GREAT video, my 5 year old loved it and had lots of questions. thanks

  • fantastic video!

  • lame

  • Fantastic video!!! Thanks for sharing it!!!

  • ah. some american blackbirds (ok, they are called 'robins' but they are more like our uk blackbird, not our robin lol)

much prettier than the european blackbird. almost identical in appearance apart from colour. the behaviour and 'tameness' is very similar and the song too - i think i heard one singing at one point. im amazed that nest survived the attention of crows/magpies etc

  • iv found a bird wile ago prankt and i builed them a nest in my shed left the windows open they she had there babies and then they all flyed away

  • there was the same bird today and it was a baby who got hit by other birds so my dad took it home to recovery it and it was hungry and we couldn't find any worms.then later it flew away to another house and was standing at the window and i was sad that i was going to die and the bird flew somewhere els

  • you sure miss them

  • At least this bird didnt "Fly off the handle" after eating crap. :-)

  • Very nice video Dave!

  • moms cleaning dads thinking of the game tonight.. haha

  • haha.

    HOW CUTE!!!XD

    the babys in the nest!

  • it is awesome Dave, that even with the years you have spent living that you take the time to appreciate the things some of us take for granted. Truly awesome!

  • i saw a bird without wings on time :( some1 must cut it of

  • What a great film. Maybe they will come back for a visit.

  • When I was living in college, apartment, I saw robins build a nest in a vent where the kitchen hood exhausts out. The parents actually came back again during my final year.

  • Great job Dave. It is always fun to witness the miracles of nature in all it's forms! Gary

  • refreshingly simple and interesting. but... why are baby birds so fugly?

  • It's beautiful watching nature grow. :]

  • Very entertaining and refreshing to see nature at work but I found it interesting that at 10:05 into the video you focused on what appeared to be chemtrails in the sky overhead.

Are you aware the Government has recently confirmed they are putting toxic chemicals in the jet fuel of commercial and military flights around the world.

Are you aware that in conjunction with the world health organization and UN there are Eugenics programs in place to exterminate more than 95% of the worlds population

  • Great job Dave! That took a lot of work on your part to document all that. It was really fun to watch. That's really cool how they just got used to you being around.

  • You going to make a proper nest place for them for next winter? Bet theyd love to come back ;-)

  • My parents named me after this bird ;-)

  • As always, love it! There are very few robins in the area we live in. I miss them. I remember my Momo would always say "spring is here! The robins have come back!"

  • This was a GREAT one! I really appreciate the time and effort that you took to put this one together sir. Standing there for several hours to capture a bird's first flight deserves some recognition. All of your videos are very informative and educational. Thanks for doing this one, I loved it. In fact, I watched it twice! 5 stars!

SHADYSPAW- my cat shady

  • there was a robin last year that would fly up to our porch and just attack the window for hours and hours i guess it saw its reflection

  • Wow awesome video Dave, i can imagine the hours and hours of filming that went into this 16min vid.

2 Things reminded me of humans first the birds not wanting to leave the nest when getting looked after too well at home lol and second the last bird to jump reminded me of jumping off the top board at the swimming baths lol just building up the needed courage :)

Im afraid there are far too many cats where i live to see anything like this at my house, reminds me more of my nans house.
