@Minsoo0290 Starcraft 2 wouldnt work on a console at all, unless they dumbed it down to the point where it barely resembled the game. Blizz have no intention of releasing SC2 on any console.

They're apparently developing a port for Diablo 3 for PS3, so if you're a PS3 owner there's that to look forward to. Either that or get a PC and join the gaming master race.

In the first Starcraft game, the first major villainous Terran group you face is known as the Confederacy. Before Arcturus Mengsk's "Dominion", this group was the governing and tyrannical law enforcement system. The Confederacy's forces were divided into "squadrons". The most well-known is the Alpha Squadron, led by General Edmund Duke. Sometime later, Duke sided with Mengsk as part of a deal to earn a better life. Duke was later killed in the Brood War by Kerrigan's swarms.

Just because the Confederacy sounds like the Confederates in the Civil War doesn't mean that they'd have that flag... Unless Blizzard wanted to play with us. Also, I'm betting that the place in the picture is Korhal, where the Dominion rules. If that's the Confederacy's flag, why'd the Dominion have it strewn all over the city?

Good point. You could be right and that Blizzard is experimenting with something familiar to get that "historical appeal" to its audience. But here's a small theory to answer that flag question: it's like the modern-day southern U.S. still hanging Confederate flags on their properties. Trust me, I've seen it before. I live in Texas.

Could be pride in heritage, because technically the American Confederacy was seen as a "force of change" and a "rebel group", sort of how the Sons of Korhal in the original Starcraft played the part of. Unfortunately, I didn't really read too far into the Starcraft literature that was released so I wouldn't know of the Confederacy before its time in the first game. I hope that gives you a bit of perspective. As for a direct answer, I can't really give it. Sorry.

However, let's not get too serious about this, because it was only a question of curiosity.

I guess IRL Confederacy's role would be less emotionally charged as a symbol of slavery and biggotry and even be romanticized in 500 years from now like an equivalent of medieval despots (knights/samurais) for our contemporary era.
