  • Before does look better maybe they screwed up

  • Lol the original looks better quality. Theyve just increased the contrast. Idiots.

  • The town stands as testament to time. Murderious reprisals by the Germans, trying to kill resistance fighters, but they killed thousands of civilans; men, women and children. Herded men into a simple barn and doused it with fuel, killing all inside.

    Never forget!

  • Some people are blind. The Before is more saturated. The After is way sharper, has much clearer detail and natural colour. Over-colourised and blurry does not equal "better".

  • @Trixtah

Yet the older version seems closer in context to what truly happened in those tragic days. Overandblurry is better only if so far as it reflects the times. If only there was a way to capture sharpness and authenticness.

  • People who think older version looks better have little or no knowledge of video restoration older one has alot of blocky artifacts and little detail, and youtube's highly compressed video does no justice to the comparison

  • older version looks a lot better

  • So.. somebody turned the brightness level up and that's it?

  • I agree. The Before does look more HD than the After.

  • It's not about how it looks to actually watch it's about the clarity and detail. Sure something with higher saturation and contrast looks a little nice but it doesn't show you what it's really like.

  • it looks worse. nice job.

  • i like before better because it looks older more real

  • cool!

  • so they turned the brightness up??.... woop dedoo! :/

  • Honestly, I think the before looks better.

  • Before looks better. Also the new DVDs and BDs will be cropped just because a couple of idiots hate black bars on the side of their 16/9 sets. Talk about pandering to idiots! Thing is, idiots wouldn't buy this anyway; archive TV fans will. And us archive TV fans seriously do not like picture cropping. We tend to boycott such things.

My advice: stick with the existing DVDs and give this downgrade a miss.

  • Wtf?
