  • If we keep sending jobs overseas at the rate we're going, college graduates will be flipping burgers.

  • don't worry everyone, tom will drop dead in a few years, he's only about 500 pounds now. even though he's rich, his arteries don't know that

  • I never flipped burgers or worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart.

I worked as an inserter for a daily newspaper right out of high school.

I had a volunteer gig during college reading news at a University radio station.

I was a radio board operator out of college.

Now, I am a writer, freelance and have been for years.

I have to say I agree with Tom to a certain extent.

A number of people don't have the brains and/or willpower to have real careers.

So, they have shit jobs-feel sorry for them.

  • @sasquatch13ja "suck to be you" is such a douche phrase, douche!

  • @sasquatch13ja "suck to be you" is such a douche phrase, douche!

  • i am just turn 28 and when i listen this i directly planing go to collage..he is right..thanks father

  • If affluent, educated people have the fewest children, what will that do the demographics of this country?

  • this one is rubbing me the wrong way a little ! I got my degree, yet with this shit economy, i wash cars at enterprise! fuck my life.

  • @pervmanyesican I can toatly relate dude. Funny story my best friend is a millionare and comes from a multimillionare family and bags groceys at Krogers he is 22 years old. I shit you not

  • @pervmanyesican sucks to be you, but tom leykis is correct on many points.

  • It's sad but I look at girls the same way!! I have busted my ass for years to get where im at!! When I see chicks at low rent jobs I think REALLY!!!! why should i even try to date them!!!!

  • Most of the poor people I know got someone nocked up early in life. Maybye it's different in countries were there are no opportunities and no access to birth control or abortion, but here in **this** country you CAN go to college, you CAN use birth control, and you CAN get an abortion. No more excuses!!

  • this very episode when i heard it was my eye opener, i had a dead end job and a girlfriend, i ditched both, moved 1200 miles away, lost 120lbs and im now pursuing my dream of being a helicopter pilot. tom, you are the best!

  • Tom is pretty accurate on this. I am a freelance writer and have been struggling because of the economy but I have never worked fast food nor have I done a lot of shit jobs in my life. I would rather be a broke writer than a flush cashier at my age. 38 year old cashier? 32 year old fast food worker? A bit too old, I would say. The only difference I don't laugh at them, I just feel sorry for them.

  • Its funny how there's people in america who dropped out of college and they are some of the wealthest people in the world and there are also people out there with PHD's who are working at fast food joints.

Tom has some great points here especially to those who go out and fuck up and have kids at an early age. People need to make better choices.

  • mommy's bwa bwa lol

  • We need you Tom, we need you like a fat kid needs cake

  • After years of being degraded and shit on working as a cahier, I decided to stop being the "errand boy" for pricks like this and start taking from them. I am recieving 20,000 dollars in GRANTS while i am NOT WORKING AT ALL and going to college full time. So all of you white collar pussies can keep paying me to not work and help me go to law school. THANKS!

  • i 100% feel u bro

  • the man is genious.... why did his show have to get cancelled?!! we defineatly need to do an online strike to bring him back on the air.... what do you say?

  • You know I'd like a wife but there just aren't any worth a good god damn, Idon;t want my kids going to public schools, I don;t want my kids going to daycare, I don't wany MY kids getting shots, vaccinations, innoculations etcetera.

This all affects how much money men can dole out each week, this where th term "paycheck to paycheck" came from! Women do nothing, children do nothing cost a ton to maintain and men don't make enough to save, that is fucked, you can't explain that away.

  • My point is the Prices went up, Men's salaries did NOT! Women entered the workplace and made conventional marriage obsolete, women have no responsibilities nowadays, women have no wifely qualities: can't cook, can't clean properly, can't dress appropriately, can't fix a flower arrangement to save their lives, can't paint, can't spell, can't read, can't apply makeup properly(look like racoons) too much hair coloring, shabby trashy jeans and the list goes on and on!

  • Capitalism works when you're riding high on the hog and slurping from the trough but it fucking sucks when you don't want to make ridiculous money (over 100K$/yr.) If you make even 60K$/yr. you can still barely afford to pay off a mortgage on a house,if that. Tom the system is fucked, it's always been fucked, if it worked how come this country has so many economic problems?

  • Capitalism worked fine until the Government fucked it up by making it State-controlled-Capitalism. Free-Market Capitalism is what America was built on and it doesn't exist today. Our scumbag politicians have turned our country in to a mediocre Social-Capitalist shit-pit. Bailouts ,State-controlled "education" and an endless supply of Welfare.

  • @joeycusack80 blame democrats for this.

  • @hooliganism49.Republicans are just as Bad.

  • Tom's capitalistic-logic might work for overweight radio talk show hosts, but it doesn't work for everyone else. This country was fucked anyway when women entered the workplace, all that did is just destroy men's salaries and dilute the workplace with useless, inexperienced pussies.

If women were not working nowadays I would make 30$/hr. Prices on everything goes up but nobodies salary increases to compensate for the increase in prices!

  • I could bust my body and brains out and I still wouldn't make any damn difference at all at work.

Except then I would have no time to do anything for myself, to relax. Wake up at 4:30AM work until 5PM get home do all the regular stuff now it's 9PM and time to go to bed to get up again in 7 HR of sleep, it's fucked TOM, your system is fucked, capitalism is fucked, it's not a FREE market economy it's a free-for-all market economy!

  • Come on guys, please don't take him seriously. Him giving "The other half" job counseling is just about as funny as hm giving dieting advice.

Trust, He won't live much longer. I give him 5 years tops. Actually, he is so morbidly obese, he probably won't see two thousand twelve.

  • Like I said inanother related Leykis re-post I'm a technician / mechanic and have to work just as hard and be just as knowledgeable about systems of the car as a doctor does about the human body. But the so-called "doctor" makes minimum 80,000$/yr. the young mechanic technician makes 30,000$/yr. WTF is up with that, explain that away!

  • BTW that's a 50,000$ difference in pay!

I work 9 hours a day, am ASE certified, have an Associates in Science and want to own the business I work at someday and that's the plan.

But it's absolute bullshit for some douchebag college loser who has NO real world experience what-so-ever can make 80K$/yr. and me with 4 yrs. experience makes 30K$?

  • Your job has less demand and is simply less valued. Don't get me wrong I am sure you are educated and work hard but if a Comedian can get people to pay 20 0r 30 dollars to make them laugh in large numbers all over the country does he no deserve that money?

  • Sure he deserves that. I'm just pissed man, a lot of young men get screwed and pigeonholed into poverty. I can't afford a house nowadays! If I were me 26 yr. old in late 1950's America and still a mechanic I would have enough for a good house, a wife and a kid and two cars at least, today I have two cars, an apartment, but I can't afford women's overpriced habits, I can't afford a kid, I can't afford a house, a mortgage, taxes, bills!

  • I know what you mean. I live paycheck to paycheck and go in the hole at the end of every year until I can get my tax return and cash in my vacation at the first of the year to pay off the debt I got into. Sucks.

  • Walmart = divide and conquer, communism=divide and conquer!

  • I'd like to ask Tom if he supports Walmart superstores as a form of so-called "competition" for local buisnesses? So when Walmart comes to the outskirts of your town and ruins all local businessmen is that good with you Tom?

Because if it is it answers a lot of other questions about your thought process.

  • As much as i like tom Leykis . he has to realize that not everyone becomes tom leykis lol. He should stop spitting on average working class people. Not everyones life is based upon getting a better job and more cash . even though most ppl want a decent job there gonna be on no where near as much as Tom leykis. I dunno what its like in USA . but i graduated from uni over here in the UK. 22 yrs old ,degree .relevant work experience and no bastards get back to me . its not all easy.

  • Yeah you make a good example I'm the same way now 26, no stupid bitches ever got any of my money always wear a condom not welping bastards, professional technician/mechanic, single I don't earn enough to have my own apartment and I work 40 hours a week with time and a half paid overtime, America is fucking it's young adults over it's not merely "you need to do your job better" it's just the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, that's all it is, obviously.

  • No the poor don't get poorer- they get Welfare. The person who gets fucked the most are the WORKING CLASS, NOT THE SO-CALLED POOR.

The tax laws are set up so honest working men like you get fucked in taxes which then get redistributed to Scumbag Bureaucrats, Lowlife Welfare moochers and Multinationals. You need to start your own business bro. I was getting fucked in taxes until I went from an EMPLOYEE to becoming a contractor(less red-tape and you get to write off purchases as company expenses!)

  • Lol! Yes, welfare "moochers" is what brought this country to it's knees. What part of TX do you spawn from?

  • @kramnrublaw .I am not from Texas you Liberal Blowhard.Yes Welfare Moochers along with Corporate Scum brought down this country. The working man gets fucked with ever increasing taxes to bail out bankers, corporations and to fund some Ghetto-Whore or Trailer Park Trash who shits out a half Dozen kids..Fuck You Very Much

  • LOL yes please pursue the medicore please LMAOOO it just makes it easier on me less competition. Oh and I got a pizza delivered by a fifty year old guy one time lol.

  • 80 thou a year is great to start off then continue to make more than that and you got it nailed.

  • Nothing's wrong with taking a mediocre job and pursuing other interests.

  • I find it funny that most the jobs he speaks of have a purpose.....what PURPOSE does his job serve....is he not simply for entertainment? or am i wrong? America's smartasses have a sad confusion between what is "a want" and "a need"

  • toms job is a public service.

  • Tom Leykis does not WORK for a living, he collects treats from radio stations who serve up SIN.

  • I hope the dude at costco with the yellow marker does not recognize Tom Leykis the next time he is at costco because I thin k he would b e very pissed off !

  • if everyone went to College and didn't fix cars, change oil, drive trucks, be security guards, deliver stuff, who would do it? Why can't Tom just be happy with his life and leave other people alone? What does he care what other people do for a living. And again, somebody has to do these jobs!!!!!! Not everyone is College material too.

  • Tom is one of the most intriguing people I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

  • Most of what he says is right on, but in this clip he just seems like a pompous bastard. He cannot know these people's situations and yet he makes fun of them... seriously, what an asshole. Note: I did not knock up my girlfriend nor work in a minimum-wage job.

  • What he's saying needs to be said. The simple fact is that the single largest impediment to anyone's success is themself; period. Success doesn't 'happen', it is MADE. Somebody should have ridiculed the 40 year old at the Costco entrance when he was 18, he would have made better decisions.

  • Allot of what Tom says is common sense. But sometimes you need to hear it.

  • FIRST TIME LONG TIME....

  • Tom's theory did not apply on you but it does apply on on many other cases.

Your illogical statement is like a slot machine winner saying those warning against gambling "failed" on his case.

  • Just because you're the exception to the rule doesn't mean EVERYONE is.

If you can't understand this basic concept, you're an idiot.

  • Tom is a a Masterdebator

  • "Masterdebator"? OMFG thats hysterical lol.

  • Most of Leykis's callers seem like morons so I have to assume that the majority of his audience are idiots. But for the ones who aren't and who read, do you notice the similarities between and Ayn Rand and Tom Leykis? He is what she wrote about back in the day.

  • I know she wrote about objectivism and metaphysics but I kinda off understand what you mean but i dnt. I just started college so I am still learning please explain what you mean I would really apreciate it

  • The callers to the radio station is somewhere around 1-2% of the total listeners. The people who call, need help because they are idiots. Not the audience. It is also very entertaining.

  • I love Leykis like an older brother

  • i was a high school dropout. get a GED then join the army and use the GI bill afterwards to make something of yourself. its what i am doing, it can be done. you dictate your own life, don't sit back and let someone else control your life for you.

  • um, i was referring to the ones that have no ambition, i DO control my own life. this guy just gives good advice

  • @greycloud24 I don't do anything. I let God decide for me. THANK YOU JESUSSSS

  • @cristalmar lol

  • @greycloud24 Thats soooo much more work than just NOT BEING HORNY AND NOT HAVING SEX!

Its so easy to have a good life with little stress and all you have to do is NOT FUCK A BITCH WITHOUT A CONDOM!

    EASY EASY EASY

  • @thisgame2 nope, if it weren't for the army i would have never made it into college. its the choice for those who have few other options. when you grow up and figure out that not everyone has life handed to them on a silver platter let me know.

  • Comment removed

  • @thisgame2 congratulations on your success. not everyone has your insider knowledge nor your skills. however just about anyone can take their dead end life and go to the army for a little bit of refocusing. if someone is down in the dumps and doesn't know how to get out, i suggest the military as a good answer. it will change the way you look at your problems, and it will teach you to overcome them. a good attitude isn't something that everyone is born with.

  • @greycloud24 I agree with you if you're saying that the military is a great place to learn disciple and build character. The problem is that I've met too many guys who did 4 years in the military that are working as security guards making $12 an hour.

  • @ejdf870 those guys obviously didn't use the army for all the benefits it could have given them. but ye for the most part i think goal oriented behavior and discipline help people out a lot in life. and the people who need the army aren't the ones who had good parents that taught them responsibility. but smart poor people can also benefit from the army. it does pay for college, and a short stint as an officer can get you a good degree.

  • high school drop outs end up with all the low paying jobs

  • i haven't had to deal with a minimum wage job yet. and i don't plan to.

  • at the end of the day, he's right. we may not like it but it's a cold hard reality. I myself am guilty, just like most of those who struggle financially. even if we don't like his delivery, most of us already think it to ourselves when we wake up each morning and go to these suck-ass, low wage jobs.

  • He has some pretty valid points. I pity the idiots that had children at a young age and stuck w/ a mcjob for the rest of their lives. I'm never letting that happen..

  • this man has not been on earth long enough to be in talk radio.he had plenty of doors opened for him.humble is next to wisdom and as you know ,talk is cheap.hes pretending to himself.

  • Konnichi-wa JDTLA. At the age of 30, it depends on how long you have been in the labor force and what your job title is.

A great Leykis trick: People tend to leave receipts with their balances near ATMs. Find a receipt with a large balance and write your phone number on the back and give it to a hot girl. In the United States, women will generally want to meet with you In Japan, I don't know how well this trick would work. I am hoping to visit Japan myslef in the near future.

  • Hey,I'm a Leykis 101 student from Japan!

    I got a question.

How much is a Leykis 101 student in LA, who is, say, 30 years old, supposed to make?

  • at least 80,000 a year to be pretty successful.

  • The Tom Leykis shows demographics are men ages 18-45.

  • Tom Leykis generally offers emphiral evidence to back up his topics such as statistics, news articles, and university studies. People either love or hate Tom Leykis for who he is and what he says.

  • Is Tom stealing all his idea's from T.V.? Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David should go after his Big Ass. He should get on a Lie Detector, He Beat one of his Wives, Smashed a Glass in her face, Smashed her head into a Fireplace Then Threatend to Murder her.. Whoo what a Role model for men.. Maybe Trash Prison Folk...

  • We already know about this. Would you please

tell us something we don't know. Geeeez give

    us a break. Cliche city.

  • Leykis is right. I worked hard to earn a Bachelor's degree. I did manual labor in college to pay my way.

  • I grew up around a lot of ambitious people, and yet it took a hard-drinking fat guy to instill some sense in me. I had no motivation at one point, but now because of Tom I'm getting double majors in hard, mathematical subjects at a prestigious university. His advice is about more than just getting laid (although that's certainly a big part of it). Thanks, Dad!

  • A great attack on duty as defined by Kant, and egalitarianism.

  • Wonder what he'd be doing if he wasn't on the radio.

  • Fucking while working on getting on the radio.

  • Most likely he would still be doing solicitation by phone or something because his college degree is worthless. He talked about getting a degree and moving up the latter. But his degree isn't necessary for radio. The radio biz is this, keep pushing shows until you get one that is successful. That's pretty much what happened in Tom's case. Of course, the message he is sending out is good, but if he didn't have that show, he'll be in the same situation as the pizza delivery man he is bashing.

  • I do agree with him and am also glad that people paint themselves into corners like that so they will be there to wash my SUV and serve me my steak that they usually cannot afford.

  • People, Leykis isn't making fun of all people who don't have a degree. Some people are perfectly happy with that, and if you have listened to Tom, he at least admits that he isn't talking about those..But, most people, who have terrible jobs, are miserable, and it's really their own faults. That's what he's talking about..He's talking about the losers who made themselves losers by making bad choices..

  • He kind of sounds like Carnegie.

  • yeah. but its worth it.

  • Dear, you're the moron! College grads do have more debt than non-college grads, but they make more money. The risk of having student loans is little. Go to college.

  • I'd rather be in the situation that I'm in now, a post grad, gainly employed in a rewarding profession with 25 grand of debt remaining. I would rather have that than to take calls from annoying Directv customers for 8 hours a day with minimal benefits, or jockey a register at Wal*Mart. It is 100% worth it to dive into debt in order to have a job that is fulfilling and appreciated. It's called an investment in yourself, and is far more valuable than getting into debt for a car or even a house.

  • I use this Leykis segment as a motivational piece now that I'm back in college to make a career change...lol

  • With out truck drivers,Tom couldn't get his fat fingers in a bucket of extra-crispy KFC and wash it down with a Coors Light. Every one makes this world go round and there may be "circumstances" don't be an ass.

  • wow. u must be one of the people that hes talking about. and this is america. so he can say whatever. and he gets paid millions to do it. so why not.

  • Leykis was still struggling when he hit 30. Come on! Be honest, Tom! It depends on what your career/field. Maybe the pizza man is studying or is working on something else? Who knows? Leykis can be an Ass at times about this subject.

  • He is exactly right -- when you get to your 30s you should be productive not sitting on your ass waiting for espresso customers to give you money for your coffee business.

  • Hey Tom, why dont you attack your core audience. good 1. Because you were so successful at 30. Or did you forget???

  • What was he doing at 30?

  • Making himself successful

  • Father, thank you for your great advice

  • No you're not wrong tom!
