i think Jinbe and Luffy's friendship will be the symbol of true peace to come between Fishmen and Humans. that's all i am really getting from the last spread page. the idea of Jinbe becoming a part of the StrawHats Crew sounds cool, but doesn't mean it will work well for the overall storyline to come.

I got it! Jinbe can be the helmsman (the guy steering the ship) of the crew since they all have an occupation. I know it sounds like a boring job, but it's time for the SH to stop taking turns steering the ship and have an official one just like how they have an official doctor (before, it was Nami) and shipwright (before, it was Ussop).
I have this sneaking suspicion that now that he has jinbei's blood in him luffy will be able to tolerate the ocean and be able to swim. The blood of a fishman who mastered fishman karate, the ability to manipulate water. Just a theory.

I don't understand how people can seriously think Shirahoshi will join. The reason I don't like the idea of Jinbei joining is because he's old, his character is already developed, he doesn't have any room to grow. Personally I don't like the idea of anyone from this Arc joining, I especially hate the idea of the crew getting a token Fishman to promote equality and rainbows, but if I had to choose someone from this arc to join it'd be either Fukaboshi or Van Der Decken (just to get rid of him).

@Matozu He doesn't have to associate with the king, simply protect it like Whitebeard did by declaring it his territory. Even if he did, pirate or not, Jinbe is one of them, unlike the instance with Vivi and the Straw hats. Hence I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of an issue with the people considering the benefits it provides them with. Not to mention the fact that they would have a less hostile image of pirates now due to the actions of the Straw Hats.

If it was Shirahoshi, it would have been a thought bubble and he would have recognized her voice. He heard the sea kings first, then Shirahoshi block his path and tells him to stop. I missed it the first time, but your question about Luffy being able to hear them made me go back and look!
Jinbei's gonna declines. His love for fishman island NOW is too big to join another pirate crew. Shirahoshi'g gonna become the queen and Jinbei shall be her right-hand man........I hope.
Loved this chapter. Such a positive and hope-filled scene at the end. Every member has a dream and a reason to be with the crew and I love Jinbe's purpose - to break down the prejudice between fishmen and humans. Without Whitebeard, Luffy is the only captain who could be a human ally to help bridge them. By adventuring with and supporting Luffy, Jinbe will be able to change humans' attitudes about fishmen (since Luffy is able to make allies out of almost everyone).

In my opinion, I believe Jimbei will say no...BUT i hope he says yes :)
People say that Jimbei joining the crew would ruin the dynamics...but if you have a look at Jimbei's strength before the time skip, he is relatively stronger than Luffy and his crew...but if you compare the strengths of the Straw Hat crew (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji) to Jimbei AFTER the time skip, the Straw Hats seem to be equal or greater than Jimbei (and thats after seeing all 3 underwater..imagine them on land!)
I'm still wondering about the prophecy they talked about in the beginning of the arc "a man with a straw hat is going to destroy fish man island".. as for jinbe, i'm still not sure how i feel about him joining.. well it was made clear that jimbe was just as strong as ace since their fight ended in a tie. its also pretty likely that luffy has surpassed ace since he has haki now. so jimbei joining the crew probably won't unbalance it to much since sanji and zoro have always been just a tiny bit weaker or even to luffy in power so its safe to say that either one of them could take on jimbei in a fight. He performed just about as well as everyone else in the fishman island battle
And I personally think zoro, sanji, an even robin has some kind of haki. I'm mean oda wouldn't show a panel of them discussing it if they didn't have it themselves. If they don't that would be a little dispointing, but still oda is a genius.

The Straw Hats are busy beating the crap out of their opponents so Shirahoshi has to deal with her own group of Marines. Her power to destroy the world is summoning Sea Kings, but she has to call them out and if those Sea Kings aren't close by (which they won't be unless the Marines get unlucky or they are in the Calm Belt, which they already passed) then she's screwed
Shirahoshi can use her size to her advantage and all...but the Marines would just surround her and shoot her down and even if the Sea Kings heard her, it would take them a long time to get there. The only thing she could do is go in the water, cry, and hide. Just stating the facts.

I think jinbe will say no because I don't see him in the new opening (#15) while the crew is fighting the marines, I think it's when the crew enter the new world, but he maybe in the Sunny but I dough it :)

I don't understand how people can seriously think Shirahoshi will join. The reason I don't like the idea of Jinbei joining is because he's old, his character is already developed, he doesn't have any room to grow. Personally I don't like the idea of anyone from this Arc joining, I especially hate the idea of the crew getting a token Fishman to promote equality and rainbows, but if I had to choose someone from this arc to join it'd be either Fukaboshi or Van Der Decken (just to get rid of him).

Hey everyone,
I'm 115 years old and I'm trying to become a successful Pokemon trainer, I'm gonna move to another universe in 2012 to learn from the best. Pokemon means a lot to me.
I've just started training. Professor Oak gave me Charmander and I used him to catch a Pidgey. It would mean a lot if you guys supported me on this.

Honestly at first I defintnely didnt want jinbei to join at all and i was totally against it... but the way luffy just shouted out JINBEI BE MY NAKAMA!!!!!! it just all clicked for me and felt right I trust luffys desision 100% and I respect him honestly its inevitable that Jinbei will join the crew now so theres no point going against it.

People who say they don't want jinbe to join the crew say that only because they believe he is stronger than luffys. Somehow I doubt that. At this point luffy is stronger, or just as strong as jinbe. Bounty doesn't mean anything. 2 years ago on the island of women I honestly believe if boa hancock didn't fall in love with luffys she woulda have given him a run for his money. And her bounty is only 80million and she was able to go toe to toe with smoker, and opponent luffy had no chance against

@Matozu He doesn't have to associate with the king, simply protect it like Whitebeard did by declaring it his territory. Even if he did, pirate or not, Jinbe is one of them, unlike the instance with Vivi and the Straw hats. Hence I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of an issue with the people considering the benefits it provides them with. Not to mention the fact that they would have a less hostile image of pirates now due to the actions of the Straw Hats.

luffy actually showed a sign to hear the seakings voices! when was like destroying noah in the previous chapter there was a speechbubble that said "stop it " but it wasn´t one that looked like when they talk it more looked like the speech bubbles from the see kings so he thought it was shirahoshi first but it wasn´t !!!

addionally, i kinda called jinbe joining back during the whitebeard war. a few things to consider:
a: ace asked jinbe to watch over his brother should he die.
b: jinbe compliments luffy very well, and this is the typical way that oda has members join, after a emot. ordeal.
c: jinbe respects luffy, having watched luffy go thru hell (the gnat in the tornado), and come out alive, and realizes luffy is the next 'roger'
its gonna happen. and i cant wait, he'd be an EXCELLENT addition to the crew!

People arguing about Jinbe's bounty: it's been stated that bounty does not compare to strength by Shakki.
People saying Jinbe is going to stay: he just declared himself a pirate. How would that look for Fishman Island, to have some pirate associating with the king? IE, reason why they couldn't associate themselves with Vivi when leaving, because she's royalty, and they're pirates.
People saying Jimbe is stronger than Luffy: yeah, he was pre time skip, but I'm positive Luffy has outgrown Jimbe

Look at chapter 647, Page 8.
In this scene, the "STOP IT" is written in a thought bubble, not a speech bubble. Luffy then asks "Who is it?!" If it was Shirahoshi, it would have been a thought bubble and he would have recognized her voice. He heard the sea kings first, then Shirahoshi block his path and tells him to stop. I missed it the first time, but your question about Luffy being able to hear them made me go back and look!

Loved this chapter. Such a positive and hope-filled scene at the end. Every member has a dream and a reason to be with the crew and I love Jinbe's purpose - to break down the prejudice between fishmen and humans. Without Whitebeard, Luffy is the only captain who could be a human ally to help bridge them. By adventuring with and supporting Luffy, Jinbe will be able to change humans' attitudes about fishmen (since Luffy is able to make allies out of almost everyone).

In my opinion, I believe Jimbei will say no...BUT i hope he says yes :)
People say that Jimbei joining the crew would ruin the dynamics...but if you have a look at Jimbei's strength before the time skip, he is relatively stronger than Luffy and his crew...but if you compare the strengths of the Straw Hat crew (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji) to Jimbei AFTER the time skip, the Straw Hats seem to be equal or greater than Jimbei (and thats after seeing all 3 underwater..imagine them on land!)

I'm still wondering about the prophecy they talked about in the beginning of the arc "a man with a straw hat is going to destroy fish man island".. as for jinbe, i'm still not sure how i feel about him joining.. I'm all for fishman-human bond but i feel like jibe could win against luffy in a battle or at least tie just because of how experienced he is, isn't he like waaaay older then the rest of the crew? he's been a shichibukai as well..

well it was made clear that jimbe was just as strong as ace since their fight ended in a tie. its also pretty likely that luffy has surpassed ace since he has haki now. so jimbei joining the crew probably won't unbalance it to much since sanji and zoro have always been just a tiny bit weaker or even to luffy in power so its safe to say that either one of them could take on jimbei in a fight. He performed just about as well as everyone else in the fishman island battle

The Straw Hats are busy beating the crap out of their opponents so Shirahoshi has to deal with her own group of Marines. Her power to destroy the world is summoning Sea Kings, but she has to call them out and if those Sea Kings aren't close by (which they won't be unless the Marines get unlucky or they are in the Calm Belt, which they already passed) then she's screwed
