Iconic for Wrigley, for the huge support making them top 5 for attendance year in year out irrespective of results, for the central role they play in the sporting life of a huge metropolis. They are not perfect I accept but they are a huge huge ballclub.
Boston is better in my opinion, way better nightlife, museums, colleges, hospitals, skyline, its on the ocean, higher wages, better looking women should i keep going...

As far as skyline goes, I think the overwhelming majority of people here are able to see that Chicago's is way more impressive. Ocean? Chicago has the lake. Fresh water. Colleges? True, Boston has the world's best, but Chicago is arguably the second or third best city in the world in terms of colleges, so it's not like Chicago's lacking in that respect.
@MrCantstandliberals Main difference is, despite the huge size, Chicago is extremely friendly (even the ghetto isn't so bad) and Boston is super violent on every street. More bronies should live there, because there is way too much crime and hostility to newcomers.
For you guys fighting about Chicago vs. NYC..etc.. NYC is bigger and has more glamor. Chicago is a much more real city and it is far more clean. When I grew up in Chicago.. New York ppl would come to our place and act like they were somehow better than us.. they would quickly find out that they would be outcasts in the N'hoods and couldn't really go outside.. they soon moved back to NYC where they were safe.. Both cities suffer from liberalism.. but Chicago has much better women as well..

Boston is a good town with a good skyline but Chicago has a better skyline and just has that urban feel Boston lacks. Outside Manhattan nowhere in North America quite has that "Big City" feel you get on State Street or lasalle or crossing the bridges.

Cubs and Red Sox, Bruins and Blackhawks, Bears definitely and Patriots and Celtics and Bulls are all wih the probable exception of the Patriots unarguably top 4 iconic franchises in baseball, hockey, gridiron and basketball respectively. Not even NY has as many truly great franchises.

I visited Chicago last summer and instantly fell in love with the city! I also went to NYC but after seeing Chicago it was dissapointing. Chicago is such a clean city and NYC can't even be compared in that mather.

There are some world class things about Chicago. The symphony orchestra, the shopping on the mag Mile, the Impressionist Collection at the Art Institute etc but the undisputed highlight of Chicago is the skyline. The best in the world. Not the biggest but the best. In Nth America only Midtown manhattan compares.
@Bundashit: Toronto does not count since that is Canada. You act like Toronto automatically comes in behind our top two city skylines just because it is your largest city. @donzaliko I know London better than NYC but enjoyed NY in my time there. Objectively there is little or nothing to put one ahead of the other. Essentially both have everything a city could and should have. The NY skyline is undeniably superior and the initial wow factor is greater in NY - as it is in Chicago without question - but London has the layers of history to make up for that. To be honest its impossibe to judge. two superstar cities.

NY has a more famous skyline but Chicago's in probably better and more aesthetically pleasing. It is the best skyline in North America. The giants like the Hancock, Trump and Aon dwarf Manhattans scrapers and it has a symetry nowhere else has. Vancouver and Toronto are not even comparable.

@srnomrio Yes steroid abuse media bias etc all are real issues. However the Cubs and Cards were huge franchises long before Sosa or McGuire. Baseball has Cubs, Cards, Yanks, Dodgers. Basketball has Celtics, lakers, Hockey has Canadiens, Leafs Hawks. EG Italian soccer has Inter and Juventus, Spanish soccer has madrid and Barcelona. Sports leagues have iconic teams. The Cubs are an iconic team.

I visited Chicago last summer and instantly fell in love with the city! I also went to NYC but after seeing Chicago it was dissapointing. Chicago is such a clean city and NYC can't even be compared in that mather.

Not to mention the world's most powerful government is only a few short moments away in D.C. CIA and FBI!! I think what gives NY a bad rap is the trash, not very clean and sometimes the chaos of taking taxis and living on island with thousands of people. Suffocating sometimes.

@srnomrio As a stock Exchange NY is far and away the biggest but as an all round financial centre handling insurance, currency exchange, futures etc London is the leading city in the world. One could say NY is leading in North America and arguably joing lead with london as a global financial centre. Chicago is a hugely important finqance centre but not on a level with NY.

There are some world class things about Chicago. The symphony orchestra, the shopping on the mag Mile, the Impressionist Collection at the Art Institute etc but the undisputed highlight of Chicago is the skyline. The best in the world. Not the biggest but the best. In Nth America only Midtown manhattan compares.

Chicago is still growing with people from the westcoast & east coast moving here from job relocations & job tranfers. @donzaliko I know London better than NYC but enjoyed NY in my time there. Objectively there is little or nothing to put one ahead of the other. Essentially both have everything a city could and should have. The NY skyline is undeniably superior and the initial wow factor is greater in NY - as it is in Chicago without question - but London has the layers of history to make up for that. To be honest its impossibe to judge. two superstar cities.

NY has a more famous skyline but Chicago's in probably better and more aesthetically pleasing. It is the best skyline in North America. The giants like the Hancock, Trump and Aon dwarf Manhattans scrapers and it has a symetry nowhere else has. Vancouver and Toronto are not even comparable.
