GENETIC INFORMATION CANNOT HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) in nature is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. I would just like to point out that Lord Hathoor never adequately addressed my core argument: that God is perfect BY DEFINITION, that anything which is perfect must exist with necessity, and that therefore God exists.

Also a sufficient basis for requiring a belief in God is the fact that Jesus gave everything, temporarily, you ought to therefore love Him, and in order to love Him you must believe in Him.

I provide many sufficient bases for belief, and all anyone can say is that I'm stupid.

OK, I made it through the whole thing (while working on a document). If this debate was for real, and not a performance piece, then I think you got trolled. No way was this guy for real. I know the whole idea of "Po" is that it's hard to tell sometimes, but I think your opponent was just poking fun at you and your debate. I think what you should have gotten to was the source of the claim that "God is perfect." He's claiming that God is perfect, and according to him, that claim proves God exists. It's almost like he's saying that, if you can think something up, it automatically becomes real, and that you have to believe it - or else you hate Jesus.

As I listened to the whole thing, it became obvious that you could never really pin him down on any solid position. And the thing about "the Devil" planting fossils literally came out of a comedy sketch that Bill Hicks did once - only in the comedy sketch, it was God planting the fossils. I mean, the irony was just incredible.
