My husband got me this for Christmas ..mine as a memory stick in the shape of the spoon to go on the computer to use the cookery book its great..we have just had our first lot of chips they wear great thanks..
@MrCowyman haha... aw MrCrowyman I don't think they can make a battered fried chicken in these; otherwise they would have showed it to boost about it.
it's probably expensive cuz they have to cover initial costs for manufacturing and patenting. sounds great but i know i won't use it often enough to justify my indulging in such a lavish pricey product.
I think I'll pass. Not worth the $300 or the counter space since I can do the same with a frying pan and oven. It might have been worth it if it could make battered foods like tempura but I think I can get away with baking that in a convection oven.
I love my Actifry, but I agree... "epic fail" totally sums up the timer which not only doesn't stop the machine, but (at least on mine) beeps really softly and even 'steams up' when the unit is in use! The only other downside to the Actifry is that the 'paddle' inside makes it risky to make anything 'breaded'/'crumbed' yourself (most pre-made frozen stuff like chicken nuggets are okay), because it breaks the food up too much. But chips/fries in it do taste great!
I bought one of these... and I'm pretty happy with it. It's great for frying potatoes and other vegetables. It does NOTHING you couldn't do in an oven, or on a stove, BUT it is extremely easy to use and the results are good, which makes it Perfect for me.
DONT expect French fries, as you now them.
The timer though has to be one of the most epic fails ever, as it does not turn the machine off, but just beeps...
The actify is an exciting product that adds a new dimension to cooking. It can cook certain foods more perfectly than any other gadget. if you are a foodie I highly recommend you explore this option.
the host is literally taking over the show and not letting the dietician to talk.. lmao!
