Actually, Andre's name was spelled correctly in Katakana. When you spell it literally like it's written, though, Andore is what you get, so intentional or not, they did find an effective way to avoid a lawsuit. As for Hugo's name, my main guess is that it's to distinguish him from the rest of the family.

my thoughts on Hugo, his wobbly stance, the fact he is 3rd heaviest Street Fighter but tallest, the Bgm (3rd strike) sounds like Hugo's is in a basement , he doesn't seem to clean his "room" much, his movements, and mostly the fact when he pries his eyes open no pupils are seen, all of which creep me the f*ck out and made me think of him as a monster however he's a fun character to play as... that and next to Remy's and Q's bgm it's addicting as hell (not saying hell is addictive)

@Lrdvltr If Hugo was in SSFIV he wouldn't be able to parry, which would make him a fail as a character. He's the ultimate punisher but he can hardly punish anything without parrying. Think about it, the reason beginners at Third Strike can't do anything with Hugo is because they don't know how to parry well. Only pros can effectively play Hugo because they are so damn good at parrying incoming attacks. Without parrying, he is trash. Just try to win a matches in an arcade only blocking with him.

Im not as good at parriying, so my only strategy with him, its to cut missed opponent attacks and counter.

But yeah, if you against a human, and he knows that, your only option its to learn parrying, mostly because Hugo´s low speed.

@WolfSyn lack of forsight and a silly assumption, your forgetting that the other characters can't parry him either in ssf4, so the playing field is even, with Focus attacks he is a bigger threat. He has an anti air grab with 3 ranges a running grab and a standard command grab as well as special attacks such as his hand press and clothes line. Top this off with him being reworked to play appropiatly in SSF4 and Hugo could be and would be an instant threat and probably the best grappler in there.

@WolfSyn A good example is Dudley, dudley is an instant threat in SSF4 because of the removal of parries allowing him to apply the pressure. Also I should note that not all pros rely on parrying. Parrying only consistantly shuts down projectile characters like Ryu or Remy who can't apply pressure. Parrys does'nt help a character it hurts them. With no parries in SSF4 a character can easily apply pressure to win the game. Zangief is one of the best characters in SSF4, Hugo would be the same.

@shoNuuff Your absolutely right, parrying does make projectile zoning games ineffective... so what would Hugo be able to do against Ryu/Guile's projectile game in Super VI... close to nothing. Pro Japanese Hugos whole damn game is with parrying, without it he could probably never get far in a tourney. Without parrying Hugo will have even more terrible match ups than he already does in Third Strike. Sure he's got great damaging moves but that doesn't mean anything if he can't get in period.

@shoNuuff You forget, Dudley is a really good character in Third Strike. Hugo... not so much. I think the Japanese are correct to put him in lower mid tier because I think he is slightly underrated because pro Japanese Hugos can play him masterfully with their skill in parrying. Without parrying though, I'd say U.S. tier lists are more accurate, that Hugo is the second worst character in the game just above Sean.
