After capturing the northern Song capital at Kaifeng in 1127 , they pursued the fleeing Song armies and expanded southward. They even crossed the Yangtze river and sacked the Southern Song capital at Hangzhou. Then they encountered a Song army led by General Yue Fei who managed to defeat them. Since then, the Jurchens feared Yue Fei and would prefer to avoid him during battles.

@bzm54835 Yue Fei is a famous patriotic Song dynasty general who defended the Southern Song Dynasty after the Northern part of the empire was lost and the emperor was captured by the invading Jin Empire (Ancestors of the Manchu nomadic tribes). He fought to retake the old country and rescue the old emperor but was eventually imprisoned by corrupt advisers to the new emperor and died in prison.
