OMG brotha, you just shut it down right here. I don't have near as much Prince as you do. I think you've even got my brother in law beat. Nothing like good quality music man.
@Joe1978Meh Thanks. Wish I could've featured some of the music in the video, but Prince is very anal retentive when it comes to that. Hmm, what if I sang the songs instead...LMAO

@EXTENDED91 Thanks, I have many you listed, but as stated in the video, time was limited. Hmm, I may do another edition in the near future, or maybe YOU can post what I didn't have a chance to. Take care
@sgranlund Thanks. This video features Special Edition CD's (with bonus tracks, etc) I created myself. Got tired of waiting for Warner Brothers to do the job.
@sgranlund Thanks for watching. Mazaratti was featured, as well as Jill Jones, Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, Madhouse, etc. Wish I had time to feature everything in my collection.
I have various stuff by prince my self as well as 3 of the albums his protege's "the time" made. Me and you can definitely click if we were to meet because, I was a big prince fan since I was 5 years old and one of my family members buying me the parade vinyl as well. It's mad cool that you are a dedicated fan and that you followed his music from day 1. Have you heard the lotus flower 3 cd set? it is good.
Thanks for watching and posting the comments. I used to have more vinyl, but have since transferred most of the music to CD for archiving purposes. Oh yes, I have the 3 CD 'Lotus Flower' set. IMO, it's better than the 'Planet Earth' CD. There's no excuse for fans not to have 'Lotus Flower' as it only costs $7.99 on Target's website. What a deal
wow ur collection is great man!! it's so fucking hard to keep up with prince as a fan cuz he puts out so much shit!! I ain't got half of what u have but i hope one day to complete my collection. by the way, why was N.E.W.S. not in there? or One Night Alone studio album???
Thanks for watching and posting your comments. I know exactly how you feel about Prince. The N.E.W.S. project wasn't a priority for me while I was busy getting the 'One Night Alone' box set. As for the studio version of 'One Night Alone', not interested. I can only get so much....LOL
Well I meant I would like to have a 2 night performance where we can get a taste of the older concert performances and then the new collaborations that most aren't aware of like the live show in Vegas at The Aladdin. Some of us couldn't go to Prince's concerts back in the day because we were too young but we love the music. True music lovers in general will appreciate his later work. So think about it Prince. How about 2 nights for your true Prince/MUSIC lovers?
I am so jealous. My collection consist of Jill Jones, Purple Rain, Romance 1600, The Family; which I listened to over 100 times, and Prince Live at the Alladin in Las Vegas, which is a DVD/CD. The Live at the Aladdin DVD is great. You hear Prince with some of the musicians he worked with early in his career along with seasoned jazz/funk horn players (trumpet & trombone) great music. It's Prince all grown up. My wish is to see him in a 2 night performance giving us a taste of the & new.
Thanks for sharing...curious...many of us collect music in different ways for different reasons..what is all the remastering about for you? Would love to know.
Remastering for me means enhancing or improving the sound of certain CDs. I also add previously unavailable bonus remixes & non-album tracks to my personal editions. A lot of Prince's (and related artists) CDs sound better when extended mixes of certain songs are included. This is done for my own enjoyment, and anyone can buy software (Magix for instance) to make CDs the way you want. I don't have time or money to wait for Warner Brothers or Prince, and I enjoy making my CDs sound even better.
Prince & his hypocritical purple ass blocked videos by the Family, Vanity 6, and more from being on You Tube. He likes to collect royalty checks from Warner Brothers though!! Gotta love that Jehovah Witness religion he's preaching huh.
I listened to the entire album over 100 times in 1 month when I bought it and almost beat the S*** out of my sister when she scratched it. YES it was on Wax for those of you who want to know. Serious whoop ass session between me and my sister. Yes, she replaced it with in 24 hours. I guess you can say I LOVED THE ALBUM. Still sounds great today.
i still don't get why prince didn't want his music on youtube and he had to sue his fanbase because they wanted to listen to his music. i love prince but that's fucked up.
They say it's because of his Jehovah Witness religious thing, BUT he doesn't have a problem collecting royalty checks from Warner Brothers, now does he. Prince is acting very hypocritical POINT BLANK
i didn't know he was a JW but that's dumb that he can collect checks from warner brothers that own his music but can't let his fans watch and listen to his music on youtube. sounds like b.s. to me. and you're right about one thing, prince does come off as an asshole, as talented as he is.
But Prince is getting paid HUGE royalty checks from Warner Brothers for all those nasty songs that he's keeping off of You Tube. Sorry, but he's a hypocrite!!!
i would love to hear his music and performances on youtube but too bad i can't because of prince and i think it's fucked up, excuse my language, to sue your own fans just because they want to watch your videos and whatnot. to me that's wrong but whatever. dude is stupid for that.
No man, no harshness, you make a good point, Prince does get royalty checks for his old work, I wonder if there some agreement with his JWs about not promoting his old "nasty" work, I dunno. Will we ever know? Not sure. Just letting fans/fams know that there MAY be a lot of other issues we dont know about and not direct a lot of anger towards the dude, even though it can be slightly frustrating.
You can bet his Kingdom Hall is also benefiting from his Warner Brother catalog. This is so hypocritical to me and it's not just Prince. It's OTHER JW celebrities who made a MINT from 'nasty' or 'worldly' music...Jill Scott (VERY GRAPHIC), Gerald Levert, etc. As for Prince, he knows where is bread is buttered, and that reminds me of his crusade against WB. No matter how great an artist is, they STILL need the muscle of a major label. I'll support Prince, but not as I once did in the past
One last theory - there might be issues of payment to previous band members and other involved in the making of the albums.
Ive shared this wit U so you calm down on the name calling, directing your anger solely to Prince, you have to consider and think beyond what you see. I've held a mastertape in my hand, it made me think hard about the issues concerning remastering. Bootleggers are awful, they continue to be taking advantage of his work even if its for free, redirect your anger.
Thanks for your comments. What about Ebay ? When a Madhouse, Jill Jones, Mazarati, or other rare CD sells for $100+, does Prince see any of that money ? No, and he can't change or alter what consumers want, and it's NOT that Jehovah Witness tainted music he's been releasing. The genie is out of the bottle and Prince cannot erase his legacy. I could make a MINT selling CD-Rs, and despite many recent offers, I refuse to. I feel you on the bootlegger issue, but remember the cassette days ? LOL
... so tackling the massive work of re-recording, working with pro-engineers, diggin out original artwork, unseen photos and add to that the possibility that many those "rare" demo unreleased songs may have been lost because they only existed IN those cassette copies he loosely gave out to associates in the 80's, and you have some serious time, money and work involved.
AND! And add to that Prince will not let anyone NOW just enter the Vault without him being there...its insane.
Despite Prince's devout JW religion, I'll bet he's not complaining about the huge royalty checks he recieves from Warner Brothers. Yeah, he's still making MAJOR LOOT from 'Head', 'I Wanna Be Your Lover', 'DMSR', 'Soft & Wet', 'Sexy M.F.', 'Do Me', 'Let's Work', 'Darling Nikki', etc. If he were 110% devout, he should publicly denounce those classics and refuse any of the royalty checks from the good folks @ WEA.
3. The Vault. IF...IF Prince were to remaster or release all his previous classic albums, he'd have to go into the Vault, pull out master tapes, pull out demos and alternates and so forth. Some tapes may have not been played for many years, they may be deteriorating or at the point of re-baking them and salvaging. Maybe. But the sheer volume of effort to remaster the work, Prince would have to not continue creating new music and putting on shows, moving forward...
2. ...Prince is now a Jehovah Witness. Most of his older albums have adult language, very sexual themes which is the essence of Funk and so forth. His spiritual views in a few albums also are not in line with what he believes now. So there's a VERY valid reason to believe Prince doesnt want to revisit, deal with or associate himself with many of those songs. Again, both spiritual (nto religious) and sexually charged songs, which was the interesting theme or duality of all that great work.
Prince is a JW, and that's fine, but why do I see him at countless sporting events, etc. Seems like Prince is having his JW cake & eating it too. Too many contradictions buddy, and he's not gonna make us forget about his glorious pre-JW era. No matter what he does
...so yes, why doesnt Prince remaster his classic WB albums? I have several theories and ideas as to why the delay...
Here are few theories -
1. Warner Brothers Records which isnt really a record company now but more TimeWarners owns the rights to his master recordings, Prince may not want WB to make anymore profit on his recordings which he suggested that they did not create and basically stole in way from him.
What you have is a licensed copy of Prince's music.
Also, you CAN NOT REMASTER if you dont have the master tapes, a pro-remastering engineer and...did I say the master tapes? Yes, the master tapes and Prince in the room. Will real remasters EVER happen? No. Never.
What you have is what I would call fan compilations or fantasy albums where a fan may make an ultimate version of the album with singles etc.
I love the sunset with Camille cover...yes, sunsets with Funk! Puurffect!
Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge. Personally, I think Prince is a musical icon, but he's also an anal retentive asshole most of the time. I'm not waiting for him or Warner Brothers to give me the product I want and neither should anyone else. My REMASTERS sound GREAT and friends who get copies from me are very happy. Fantasy albums ? Maybe, but I love the fact that I can enjoy all of the rare music in whatever format I choose. Fuck Prince
Seand67, Ive been a fan for more than 20, I own almost all you have on almost every format, Ive seen Prince in person many times, met him twice, I know the frustration as a fan. I figured out that its sometimes a one-sided thing, meaning fans get a bit ignored and the love isnt mutual like MJ and his fans. He LOVED his fans and gave them what they wanted, no hesitation.
But in fairness, if you're a fan, you also have to put some effort and TRY to understand what makes the guy tick. Cont...
Sorry, If I seem harsh, but I don't have time to figure out what makes Prince tick. Shoot, that's been a major selling tactic of his from the jump...to create some controversy, which in turn made the public 'curious'. VERY ingenious, but it's kind of tired now. MJ & Madonna also used this tactic.
hey sean just wondering if you could explain how to use Magix. i downloaded it and have no clue. i wanted to try a couple of cds that are from the 80's. any suggestions of how to?
Congratulations on your investment. I have Magix Audio Cleaner 2004, and don't know about the new edition you have. At any rate, read the manual and practice with CD-RWs. Using Magix is gonna take some time initially. Also, use the Customer Service phone number in the manual (website might also have some FAQs). I had to make a few calls back in the day. Enjoy!!
Thanks 4 watching. For remastering CDs, I use Magix software. Sometimes the process can require a lot of time (especially when converting & cleaning vinyl is involved), but it all pays off in the end. I can't wait for Warner Brothers to do the right thing and give us CDs that should be sold. Gotta take matters into my own hands when my collection is at stake.
When record companies won't do the right thing and release music the way I want (or the way fans demand), creating CD-Rs are perfect. If you want to sit and pin your hopes on sorry ass companies like Warner Brothers to re-release music that's been long out of print, that's fine, but I'm not having it.
yeah man he took off my nasty girl video I just played the song with clips of vanitys videos and he took it off within a few hours of it being posted I still love him though
Hey, seand67, we needs to talk Prince stuff , I have a pretty decent collection of rare finds, and "other stuff" .
what I did notice when you were showing you related artist, you didn't mentioned The Three O' Clock. This band released 1 album On Paisley Park. titled " Vermillion" which featured the song "Neon Telephone" which was only existed as a Prince bootleg before this version. which I have the LP and rare 12". there's more hit me up, I sent you a friend request.
ok i am 22 years of age and i know who Camile is and from what my mother told me and Prince fansites Camile was never made ??? could have fulled me lol
it is said camile is the first time Prince used the Spead up voice wow
I just wanted to send a personal messege to about how lucky you are to have that Prince collection. I had a very large even could say ridiculous Prince collection from rare 12 inches to a personal check he wrote out to his bank in 78. Just looking at that collection of your's made me want to cry dude. I lost all my collection in a storage fire about ten year's back. I even had a copy of his Cloud Gutair and mic gun i order from the NPG Collection in 94.
Thanks for watching. It took many years and a lot of work to obtain this collection. I remastered CDs and transferred a lot of rare music to disc since Warner Brothers refused to.
Good stuff I have all of the retail versions myself. Except the Madhouse and Jill Jones stuff. You said you couldn't show all, but do you have the cd called "party of the times"? A collection of prince covers by other artists. Goos shhit. Also, the Carmen Electra cd? That was good too. Nice job man.
Thanks 4 watching! Never heard of 'Party Of The Times', BUT I do have Carmen Electra's CD...sounds like a bunch of NPG songs, but not bad for the 2.99 I paid 4 it!
Like I said in the video, "I can't show everything". Of course I have all of Jesse Johnson's CDs (which I remastered to include extended mixes & B-sides), plus Morris Day's 3joints on CD. Tamara & The Seen ?? Hell yeah...Everybody Dance! I remastered her 1st album on CD, and I also included as bonus cuts the extended mix of 'Affection' & PLUS it's non album B-side 'You Bring Me Up'! Trust me...I'm on it!! Thanks for testing me...LOL
Sorry, I was never interested in Wendy & Lisa's CDs. I heard they were pretty good, but Prince didn't have anything to do with them...no songwriting, production, instrumentation, vocals, etc.
Wow! You are a true Prince fan. I remember Raspberry Beret...and Diamonds and Pearls. I think those were my favorite Prince songs; at least there the ones that come to mind first when I think of Prince.
Okay....u have got to be Prince's number one listener for one...and '87 Prince and Sheila E? I was BORN in '87. LoL..I got some catchin up to do. Prince must be talkin about something I missed. Nice collection, man.
Wassup Big D. I see you have the Batman soundtrack. I was wondering if you were going to mention that because I know most of that movie's soundtrack is Prince's music.
WOW!!! A person could do an extensive totally inclusive discography of Prince music from your collection. If all of your collections are this extensive you might want to consider insuring them all. Great stuff!! I can appreciate your passion. Music is my first love as well.
OMG DUDE your doing all the stuff I would do if I had the technology to do it!!! I got soooooo many questions to ask you about this vid alone, but I'll hit you with a pvt about that!!! EXCELLENT VIDEO MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Warner Brothers Records which isnt really a record company now but more TimeWarners owns the rights to his master recordings, Prince may not want WB to make anymore profit on his recordings which he suggested that they did not create and basically stole in way from him.

Prince is still getting dough from Time Warner and whatever label he signs with every 2 years.
seand67 2 years ago

MJ & Madonna also used this tactic.

hey sean just wondering if you could explain how to use Magix. i downloaded it and have no clue. i wanted to try a couple of cds that are from the 80's. any suggestions of how to?
helloweenfan 2 years ago
Congratulations on your investment. I have Magix Audio Cleaner 2004, and don't know about the new edition you have. At any rate, read the manual and practice with CD-RWs. Using Magix is gonna take some time initially. Also, use the Customer Service phone number in the manual (website might also have some FAQs). I had to make a few calls back in the day. Enjoy!!
seand67 2 years ago
nice collection you got. i was wondering how do you remaster the cd's?
helloweenfan 2 years ago
Thanks 4 watching. For remastering CDs, I use Magix software. Sometimes the process can require a lot of time (especially when converting & cleaning vinyl is involved), but it all pays off in the end. I can't wait for Warner Brothers to do the right thing and give us CDs that should be sold. Gotta take matters into my own hands when my collection is at stake.

CDRS are a turn off man

When record companies won't do the right thing and release music the way I want (or the way fans demand), creating CD-Rs are perfect. If you want to sit and pin your hopes on sorry ass companies like Warner Brothers to re-release music that's been long out of print, that's fine, but I'm not having it.

I even had a copy of his Cloud Gutair and mic gun i order from the NPG Collection in 94.
nosferatusbutt 3 years ago
Thanks for watching. It took many years and a lot of work to obtain this collection. I remastered CDs and transferred a lot of rare music to disc since Warner Brothers refused to.

I suppose you know the big hardbox set of "One Nite Alone", including a book. Very nice package to have and to show...

Nice job man.
wreckastow 3 years ago
Thanks 4 watching! Never heard of 'Party Of The Times', BUT I do have Carmen Electra's CD...sounds like a bunch of NPG songs, but not bad for the 2.99 I paid 4 it!

jcdevotee 3 years ago

jcdevotee 3 years ago
Like I said in the video, "I can't show everything". Of course I have all of Jesse Johnson's CDs (which I remastered to include extended mixes & B-sides), plus Morris Day's 3joints on CD. Tamara & The Seen ?? Hell yeah...Everybody Dance! I remastered her 1st album on CD, and I also included as bonus cuts the extended mix of 'Affection' & PLUS it's non album B-side 'You Bring Me Up'! Trust me...I'm on it!! Thanks for testing me...LOL
seand67 3 years ago
Hey...what about Wendy & Lisa.....thats good stuff too!!!!! I have all four of them :)
123sunnny 3 years ago 2
Sorry, I was never interested in Wendy & Lisa's CDs. I heard they were pretty good, but Prince didn't have anything to do with them...no songwriting, production, instrumentation, vocals, etc.
seand67 3 years ago
A got alot of the bootlegs on album and cd.
noirad79 3 years ago
I agree, but Prince & the various record companies refuse to do the right thing, so I take care of business on my own terms..Funk them!

Wassup Big D. I see you have the Batman soundtrack. I was wondering if you were going to mention that because I know most of that movie's soundtrack is Prince's music.

Oh yeah, I have that CD and more that wasn't featured in the video! Stay tuned...The Michael Jackson's section is going to be featured VERY SOON!!!!
seand67 3 years ago
WOW!!! A person could do an extensive totally inclusive discography of Prince music from your collection. If all of your collections are this extensive you might want to consider insuring them all. Great stuff!! I can appreciate your passion. Music is my first love as well.
ZenitraG 3 years ago
Thanks, and yes I have insurance PLUS 'back up' CDs stored away....LOL
