actually that did happen to me. when I was in the US on holiday, some guy at the passport-check said "this is a terrible picture of you, you look awful. luckily you look much better in the flesh."

I remember going to Lanzarote with my friend and we were late for the plane. I thought I'd lost my passport and did exactly what Michael did at 0:23.
