  • Uh, how about just approach from the nice clean opposite direction? Even if the wind wasn't right, would be far safer.

  • I TRIED TO LAND AT KSLC THIS MRNING ONFSX,BUT I CRASHED DUE TO THE MOUNTAIN WINDS.

  • nice and steep approach just the way it should be done. flare was too perfection

  • @listo120 I agree!

  • you lived, congrats, personally I would have opted to land a little further down the runway and allow more space between my aircraft and the obstacles. A little wind gust and your airspeed drops and so does the airplane, just a little mind you, and WHAMMMO, there are your obstacles that you are flying over.... right in your windscreen. I guess there are about as many opinions as there are pilots, but I don't think it was that impressive. More of a pilot demonstrating a lack of good judgement.

  • Awesome video..beautiful country side, and skillful flying! :) Thumbs up!

  • come on there is nothing tricky there.

  • Didn´t look that tricky ???

  • more like an obstacle coarse - I wouldn't want to come in at night with those high voltage lines there ready to fry anything that gets near them

  • Think of this, you're sitting in a little cessna, and the pilot just does it for scaring you to death, he screams: What the fuck is that? NO NO, FUCK FUCK! then he turns the aircraft to a tight left turn xD

  • Is that an Ikarus Comco C42? I love those.

  • Ok, its close to wires, but i see agricultural aircrafts like EMB-202 and pilots flying below power wires (4m) and passing about 1 to 2 meters above trees! This is amazing! You must see! And this guys flying in this condition almost everyday in south Brazil.

  • Okay, we get it, your a great pilot. Quit stopping the video to jack yourself off and let us watch.

  • nicely done. obstacle clearance landing 101 right there. did u even flare? looks like u flew it onto the runway.you put her down betteer than i couldve proabably. nice job

  • good work getting in there!

  • San Barth is hard too!

  • that looks a lot like "Lower Upham" if that sounds familier, im learning to fly an Ikarus C42 there :)

  • Those power lines were giant. Great landing!

  • Wow this dive before touchdown looks scary.

  • Sorry for your loss

  • Thank you CamDaMan2011.

  • Sorry for your loss.

  • Nice job....stay safe though

  • How long s the runway feet wise?

  • To the family of pa28flyer, My condolences on your loss. He looked to be a great pilot.

I lost a relative recently a favourite aunt. not the same thing i know. just wanted to pass on my regards to you all.

  • What happened? Was he in a plane crash?

  • Hi maverick967. Mike (my Dad / pa28flyer) died after loosing his battle with cancer in August 2009. He was a great pilot and we miss him deeply.

  • I love you dad. I miss you so much. XXXX

  • The pilot of this video sadly passed away August 2009. We miss you so much dad, you made us all so proud. Night night pa28flyer.... fly those planes in heaven, See you when we get there. xxxxx

  • what happened? plane crash? if so very sad and im sorry

  • This is my dad :-)

  • Comco Ikarus C42....nice little Ultralight ;-)

  • Been in one of those!

  • looks like a fun one, we have some pretty tricky ones up in Scotland in river valleys and what not as well, always fun in the flexwing

  • dang massive slip there, good job putting her down safley man

  • hi, is that lower upham airfield near southampton???

  • Yes it is, I presume you have been there to work it out from that angle.

If you have not flown from there yet come along and see Andy, he will soon get you up there so you can do it for yourself (if you have not done it already)

  • thank you - im 13 years old and have had 2 flying lessons from old sarum but its closed down now! I hear hes doing lessons for £65! is that correct??

  • I don't know the exact price, luckily I have not had to have lessons very often for a number of years now, just check flights which are not quite the same. His prices are certainly lower than average, it would be well worth either a visit or a phone call to check.

  • thanks - by the way it was a great landing! Im watching it right now! How long was that lesson?? Where abouts did you fly??

  • It wasn't actually a lesson, one of the instructors and I were just playing with the aircraft. I have a better version taken by one of my passengers on a different occasion when I get time to sort it out. The video exposure is better on the other version although the weather is not as it is raining!

  • gluck on the other side pal. keep flying :)

  • yes, it is, the PA-28 actually struggles to take-off in that airfield.

  • did you do a touch n go? sounded like the engine spooled up at the end of the vid!

  • Well spotted, yes that was an intentional touch 'n' go. I still do them from time to time when the wind is in the right direction just for the practice of getting in over the wires. I have another video taken more recently of this approach that is better quality, when I get a few minutes I will post it. It has full land, taxi and park plus a comment from a relieved passenger.

  • haha awesome will have to watch when you post it! that looks like a fun runway to approach! would love to do circuits on that one!

  • nicely done, short grass strips are always fun

  • They certainly are but it is a good way to stay sharp. This is a nice little runway. Power lines, trees, and buildings one end. Wind shear, trees, more power lines at the other. A hump in the middle and waterlogged when it rains. Great fun!!

  • any idea how i can mount the cam inside the cessna while doing my flights?

its very hard to hold the cam and fly on the same time..i have JVC dvd camcorder

  • Who came first, the private landing strip or the utility company and their power lines?

  • nice visibility from the Pit there :)

  • Unfortunately the camera was on auto exposure and was setting itself for inside the cockpit so a lot of the outside is over exposed but you still get the general idea. Version 2 will be along soon with better picture quality but worse weather!
