This series is the pinnacle of Yuri anime without a doubt. It treats its subject so lovenly, so tenderly, It's a shame the creators made it only an 11 episode series. Particularly since Ah-chan goes through so much growth in the manga, which is so deserving of her character, and the anime fails to address.

This is probably the best Shoujo Ai anime out there. Instead of just going with Yuri fan service, it actually has three dimensional characters and a real take on homosexual vs hetero sexual relationships.

Yumi Arai 荒井由実, Yumi Matsutouya now, is the charismatic singer in J-pop history and Anime fans of the world may know her song in "Kiki's Delivery service" of Japanese ver. Very nice anime and even nicer manga. The anime tiptoed a bit too much around sensitive subjects such as sex, and thus missed a few emotional subjects. Though, admittedly, including any sex in yuri is... dangerously close to develop into... yeah. So maybe it was for the best they left such topics alone. All in all, good stuff.

@HentaiNoKamiSama92 Shimura Takako (creator of Aoi Hana), also made a series, first as a manga and now as an anime, called, "Hourou Musuko"....It's amazing. It has literally become my most favorite manga/ anime series of all time, that means I love it more than Bleach, Deathnote, Code Geass, Naruto, and Pretty Face...So yeah, you should check it out if you liked Aoi Hana :3
