Yes, we all love ABBA. The world love ABBA. They are not afraid to wear all types of costumes. They are smart and clean living and after many years as our favourite pop stars, we still love to look at their fotos and admire them. Compared to other scruffy looking pop groups who smoke and drink alcohol on stage, I think in ABBA we have real angels as our favourite pop stars. Thank you ABBA.
i go to school with foreigners from sweden, i played this once while i was cleaning my dorm with my door open and some of them passed by and started singing along. it was cool.
I've loved this song since it was released. I'm American, so I grew up hearing it in English--but I've always thought Swedish is the most beautiful language in the world. Still, "k" = "sh" is kind of blowing my mind. I was under the impression that Swedish spelling was more "phonetic"/consistent, and didn't have "tricks" like my silly language!
K is pronounced k in front of hard vowels (a, o, u, å) and sh in front of soft vowels (e, i, y, ä, ö). (Not the second e in kärleken however, since it's an inflicted form of kärlek.) Swedish spelling is pretty consistent, except when it comes to sh-/ch-sounds, which we have about a gazillion spellings for ... ;)
"Fernando" was not originally an ABBA song but was written for Anni-Frid. It appeared on her 1975 #1 Swedish solo album, Frida ensam. The song was written by Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Stig Anderson and was originally titled "Tango".
i like all three versions of fernando the one in spanish, english and swedish idk if there are other languages.but i'm sure they are all awsome too this real music.not like rappers today making up words because they are too slow to make real lyrics
There is a fourth version in German. Like the English version, it is not a love song but the event it describes is not at all clear. Still wondering who wrote the lyrics. Bjorn certainly speaks German, but did he do them?
Very true, the Swedish version is about love, but it does rise so far above the simple love song in that it depicts loves pain realistically, then revels in it, glorifying love itself -- "long live love, our best friend." How sublime: "Har du nagra glada dagar kvar Sa spela, spela, spela dom for mej. If you have any happy songs left? Then play play play them for me."
I = jag you = du love = kärlek hallo = hej bye = hejdå dog = hund cat = katt mouse = mus pig = gris welcome = välkommen my name is... = mitt namn är.../jag heter... see you = vi ses peace = fred happy = glad friend = vän/kompis
Is it your love, Fernando? Has she left you, your great, great love, is that it?.................................
Long, long will the love live, our best friend, Fernando............................."
I'm sorry, the sound doesn't work on this computer so I can't listen to the song and this is all I can from the song. I will finish the song tomorrow =)
I love this Swedish version of the song. I'm trying to learn Swedish, and seeing the Swedish lyrics along with the English translation of them really helps. I love how some words and phrases sound/are very similar to English, such as "bästa vän" - "best friend", "fyll ditt glas" - "fill your glass", "vill du dricka...?" - "would you drink...?". Swedish is such a beautiful language.
sorry ive made some small mistakes below: vår bäste vän. nåra glada sångar kvar, vackra sagan blir aldrig lång. but its basically right. also in english shuld be sadness can be heavy to carry. hope everyone can learn this song in swedish for christmas. happy christmas abba fans
SORGEN KAN VA TUNG ATT BÄRA Sadnedd can be heavy to carry MEN ATT VÄNNER SVIKER ÄR NÅGONTING MAN MÅSTE LÄRA SIG But that freinds let you down is something you must learn. JAG HAR OCKSÅ MIST MIN KÄRA I have also lost my love. VEM ÄR DU SOM TROR ATT DETTA KUNDE BARA DRABBA DIG? Who are you to think that this only affects you? HAR DU NÅGRA GLADA DAGAR KVAR If youve any happy days left SÅ SPELA SPELA SPELA DOM FÖR MEG So play play play them for me.
2nd verse: SKA VI SKÅLA FÖR DE ANDRA? Shall we toast the others? SOM FICK EVIG KÄRLEK OCH DE TROM SOM BOR I VARJE SÅNG? That got eternal love and humm the tune that lives in every song. ELLER SKÅLA MED VARANDRA Or toast with eachother. VILL DU DRICKA FÖR DEN LYCKA SOM JAG UPPLEVDE EN GÅNG? Would you drink for the happiness i experienced once? DET ÄR LIKA SANT SOM SAGT Its just as true as said. DEN VACKRA SÅNGEN DEN BLIR ALDRIG, ALDRIG LÅNG. The beautiful story is never never long.
they are singing about a lost loved one. it really breake my heart hearing this song. my friend died in a car accident at the age of 15, and this was her favorite song. it was about 15 years ago and i still cry when i hear it. but i love it. miss you yvette/marie
this is such a cool version jim, I just love it in swedish, i'm sorry I requested it, I thought I looked thru your videos, but maybe i'm getting old and just forgot! THANKS!
Thank you Kat. I'm getting the hang of this video business and with everything new I find out about movie maker, makes it a little less of a hassle. This is (Fernando) one of their biggest songs ever..#1 in 12 countries!
I love this Swedish version also, Jim. (Seems all us ABBA fans have the same feeling!:-) It really showcases Frida's great voice. I like the English version too though. You did a great job with your slide show again, as per usual. The bubbles at 1:40 looks a little like Lawrence Welk! Haha!

Wow Angel, thank you. I've found a few little ways to play with movie maker, and they don't look to bad! Nothing earth-shattering, but cool to me(I'm so easily impressed)!

Thank you shay. I downloaded it in mp3, but had to convert it back to wma just to import it! After it was done, I then converted it back to stereo...sounds easy right? The process took a while, but it didn't win...I did!

Thank you Laura. They are considerably different. According to what's in front of me, Stig Anderson wrote the Swedish lyrics. "The narrator tries to console the heartbroken

This was one I definitly had fun with. I really like this version over the English one a lot! I've figured out a few more things with movie maker by experimenting, and i'm having fun! Thank you Elin.

Well, here's the next part of the song:
Long, long will love live, our best friend, Fernando.
Fill your glas and raise a toast for it, for love, Fernando.
Play, play, play the melodi and sing the song of joy.
Long, long will love live, that love, Fernando.

First part:
Why are you sad, Fernado?
Why do you play so low, what's going on?
Is it your love, Fernando?
Has she left you, your great, great love? Is that it?
The one who have loved and lost, knows that things like that always can happen.
Sad things can be heavy to carry.
But that friends lie sometimes is something you must learn.
I've also lost my love. Who are you to things that this kind of thing only happends to you?
If you have any happy songs left, so play, play, play them for me.

When you put the two side by side, this one is better hands down! Your right Angel, her voice is warmer and fuzzier in this version.
Thanks Angel.

This was one I definitly had fun with. I really like this version over the English one a lot! I've figured out a few more things with movie maker by experimenting, and i'm having fun! Thank you Elin.
