  • amazing

  • wish he were naked.

  • my fav.........satie.......hi from Athens

  • well done man, brilliant and honest playing !

  • Brilliant, sounds great

  • mcbaldan i have to thanks you for give the sheet of this beautiful melody. I really wanted to play it by my own and now i'm very close to made it. Just for fun.

    Thx so much!

  • I play this song too

  • I love it.

And thanks for your site sheet.

  • Beautiful...:')

  • woooow! marry me!

  • No need to apologize for your guitar, you make it sound like it cost a fortune... beautiful! I'd like to hear a Blood, Sweat & Tears type variation done by 2 or more guitars, perhaps a recorder. This piece should be interpreted by many different artists like the Canon in D. I'm going to give it a try on guitar. Perhaps again later with two guitars or a mandolin. Thanks... well done! Nice touch!

  • Fantástico!!!

  • Beautiful playing. Thank you for posting. I'm trying to download your tab. Thank you again.

  • @fingerpicker23

where are you getting his ( this ) tab at .

    Thanks

  • I agree with poohina - this is the pace and feel i believe satie strove for when he composed this. well done.

  • I love the way how you play and Satie will love your way, too!

I'm gonna share this with all my Japanese friends. Thank you!

  • sublime!!!! Bravo!!!!

  • Very nice! And for all the comments saying he isn't playing, why the f##k would you pretend to play a tune on here? Get lives sad people!

  • gah. i'm gunna learn this song on the uke. i love erik satie. he was a superb composer.

  • marry me?

  • Reallllly GOOOD

  • SOOOO GOOD, NO 3 s'il vous plait?

  • its sounds very nice when you play it on a nylon stringed guitar

  • so awesome how the guitar can sound like a piano and you arent even touching the guitar strings...

  • @adrianao69o he are, look closer

  • magnifique!!!! bravo!!!!!

  • Lovely, simply beautiful.

  • Why would he cheat? He's got nothing to prove to complete strangers. By that logic, I feel it's fair to say that he's actually doing the playing himself. And he's doing it well, too.

  • thanks men for the tabs!!!exelent!!!

  • bravo

  • of course he's playing..and very well :) also you got the second part very slightly wrong (or different) but i really like what you've done..your guitar sounds awesome too, is it a 12 string? can't really tell from the video but sounds like it might be

keep up the good stuff :)

  • wow!:-)

  • very nice:)

  • This is beautiful. Is there an arrangement I can buy, or even a tab for this online somewhere? No matter what instrument it's played on, it's still as beautiful and melancholy.

  • @punkmusicmetal give me your email, i learned this song in guitar class. ill send you a pic of the sheet

  • awesome

  • bravo

  • beautiful song, beautiful guitar, and beautiful player....

  • sounds wonderful. a friend of mine is playing this at a wedding. interesting choice for walking down the aisle but i think it'll work

    @davidxisne

haha keep it in your pants

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • I wish I was smart enough to have a BF like you. Truly, that was amazing :)

  • If only digital cameras could fully capture the timbre changes. Then it would be even more powerful. And I like what you did at the end with the Bmin7 to Emin harmonics. Good job though.

  • I'm a guitarist (well i was for 8 years before I sold my taylor because I stopped playing it and it was just gathering dust) and he's definatly playing it, the people who've said he's miming can't play guitar, it's not even a difficult peice,it would take you around a year to play that from picking up a guitar, probably less if you'd just concentrated on acoustic finger picking, well played though, thumbs up.

  • my god, this is so beautiful. i almost shed tears! <3

  • This is fantastic, though I personally prefer the piano version.

  • That looks like a lot of work for the guitar! Good job! I have the sheet music for this on piano, and I kind of have to stretch my fingers with that. So, you must have skills! God bless!

  • This song it was very important to me, to my ex love and mother of my daugther.

    thanks to you mr.

you make more happy a person in other side of the world.

  • lag the bed

  • the gymnopedies are very well suited for guitar and sound better in my opinion:) plus gnossiennes

  • You're really good at playing the guitar 'cause it's a play for piano so there are to many notes to play whit guitar, incredible! Love it! :) Good job!

  • Well, seeing the posts before, i opened up my eyes (they were really closed) and he really isn't playing that piece, That's for sure! Agree. Sorry.

  • Very, very well done!

  • Where did you get the music? I would like to learn it too.

  • O.O marry me?

  • I'd play it even a bit slower.. this song needs to take itself all the time in the world.

In my humble opinion anyway. But i very much likes your play. Thank you

  • Usually, I don't like guitar versions of Satie's work, but you did a pretty decent job, even on a 'cheap' guitar.

  • well done!

  • nice:P!!!

  • ENORME!!! in english... MORE THAN GREAT!!!!

  • @abzoc Mdrrrrr, THE mot pour enorme, se serait HUGE ^^

  • Great work

  • zzzzzzzz

  • Lovely. I inspiring. Leaves me wanting more. Where do I find more of you?

  • Beautiful.♥

  • Great job Man, very inspiring. Thanks for posting.

  • this is realy good keep up the good work

  • Amazing..I like the tune :) Thumbs up bro

  • please, take off that horrible watch when you record other piece.

  • @fepelo75 Nobody wants your opinion.

  • if you don't want opinions don't upload your videos. I give my opinions if I feel like it.

  • Ahh, JessAtlas, it's not your video. Who are you to write on behalf of everybody?

For mcbaldan: aesthetics is important in art. I couldn't help getting distracted by that watch. Better not to wear it. That's all. In the other hand, nice interpretation.

  • do you happen to have tabs/score that you can share? I would really appreciate it

  • @Aphidina , a link was provided in the program notes/video notes. Click it and then click "Classical Guitar Music", then by Composer, click "Satie" then scroll down to find Gymnopedie No 1 by "Satie, Erik".

  • why are there idiots saying he's not playing it lol.

Why would he go to all the trouble of placing his fingers in the exact position of the notes and pluck the correct strings, just to dub over it??

Youtube constantly mess up audio/video synch

  • maybe better suited to piano but still excellent, I love it

  • "used my cheap (and only) guitar in this video"

I don't think you, or anyone needs an expensive guitar to make something sound good. This sounds wonderful.

    Nicely played.

  • Although i love the piece and how its played, i cant help looking at the comments that say he is not really playing, just miming along. Ruins it slightly for me.

  • @Imfine3 I am definitely playing.

  • @mcbaldan Ok thanks, just checking. Maybe theres a lag on your camera?

  • @Imfine3 No, it's been youtube that has messed up the audio/video synchronization in my videos so far.

  • @mcbaldan yeah i don't think he would go through all the effort to place his fingers on the right notes just to mime it.

  • @Imfine3 if he is just miming why can you here the metronome in the background??? numbnutt!

    Very nice playing

  • @armandin2048 I agree that he's playing it, but if that's a metronome, he's not keeping very good time! He says it a camera problem, not a metronome or clock.

  • @Imfine3 Same with the last video that I watched of somebody playing it on guitar. It was so shaky I couldn't tell if they were playing the whole thing in one. Shows the skill involved when you even have to question it.

  • You play this beautifully x

  • whats your watch called?

  • @ZVS379 the sound is a weird camera effect. not a watch.

  • hey get out of the picture! cant you see im trying to look at stuff?

  • @mcbaldan lol man i think he was reffering to your hand clock :)

**very good work by the way!

  • Well played, but you could have played it more dynamic with more felling.

  • Comment removed

  • you are playing good but the sound sucks=)

  • ke profondità bellissimooooo,,,,,mi piacerebbe poterlo fare,,,ma non sono cisi brava!!!......complimenti!!! Giuditta

  • from watchin so much electric guitar i keep on thinking that guitar has 7 or 8 strings just cus the neck is so wide

  • Way to go man. I enjoyed this very much. Satie rules.

  • This song is fun to play on guitar, and you do it wonderfully :)

  • well done, do you know where can I get that version in tablature?

  • That was pretty :)

  • Pretty sweet man!!!

  • woooo! amazing! Bravooo!

  • what a cute version!! a like it.. :)

  • Its like Goodnight kiss from Dream Theater

  • muy bonito! la transcripción que tengo es distinta. Esta obra necesita de mucha expresión: los matices, los colores... vale la pena trabajar en ello. =)

  • this is really amazing!

  • Superb!

  • Lo hacés muy bien

  • I love this song! :))

  • Beuatiful! Perfectly played!

  • Sensitive. Beautiful.

  • Although I understand the guitar's problem with the lacking "bandwidth" for this song it still sounds nice. :)

  • 200/5 ottimo

  • hermoso ^^

  • This is really well done.

  • That's what you called real appreciation of music, you could actually give gymnopedie a new meaning!! But, I still like the piano. I can feel the dynamics there :D

  • I agree with you when you say that the piece is much better suited for the piano. But, I think you did it justice as well as someone could on guitar. In the beginning, the notes are spaced apart -just so-, so that a certain amount of tension is created. One note is played, and the next has to be hit just right. Not to early, lest it sound rushed and impatient; Neither too late, the effect would be lost from the tension falling apart rather than the reward of deliberate release.

  • TEEAACCCHHH MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow..that was great!

  • Nice job.

  • Awesome :-) 5 stars. What cheap guitar do you play ? I want buy a guitar like yours.

  • You braught it with so much feeling.. I can feel it in my whole body.

    10/5

  • very nice!

  • Jipo

  • good job, thank you

  • dynamics?

  • yeah it was nice. Ive been learning gymnopedie 3. But I have seen figured out that the score is a bit odd. Where did you get your score from?

  • I liked it! Nice playing. It's a beautiful song.

  • you can do better?

  • lovely...... so talented

  • Yeah! Don't stop knocking out those lovely major sevenths man!

  • why the hell has this comment been down thumbed... :|

  • That was well beyond perfect!!!!!!

  • Well done. It's a beatiful piece of music that's pleasant and magical.

  • romantic..

  • Nice playing! :) 5/5

  • I believe you don't have the knowledge of what classical guitar music is about.. Before you post your stupid comment, read about what music is..

  • this is how you play in classical guitar style, dumbass

  • Dude, using your nails is a form of finger picking, and if you think it's weird, or the way women do it, then you can suck my shaft.

  • @ponyseizure

After you've done sucking another round on your mothers teat how about you leave your trailer and learn about the real world of music you uneducated turd.

  • can i has milk?

  • mcbaldan, nice playing of this piece - I enjoyed it. Thanks also for the link to the sheet music.

  • I love the fluidity in your playing

  • Its amazing

And you're so beauty (sorry but I had to say it)

  • looks like he has recorded the piece and then filmed himself playing it after.

  • the strings dont move at all when he plucks them with his fingers

  • timmay from south park? You must be the mosre retarded of the two (j/k) but this gentleman is playing what we hear in the video. It's played very soft, so don't expect to see the strings vibrate so much, even though you can see them if you look closely

  • I think that you are correct. Regardless, this is a good rendition of this song considering it is supposed to be played on a piano, not a guitar.

  • lmao hes not even playing it

  • of course he is

  • uhhh, stupid?

  • you nailed this song, sounds great.

  • Dynamics please...

  • tenes el audio descompaginado con el video

  • It really reminds me of the original pianoversion! This is one of my favourite compositions ever!!! Beautyfull interpretation my friend!!!5***** greetings and respect from Bram D., Holland

  • Super! Me gusta mucho!!

  • I appears that you are playing it in standard tuning, am I right? It sounds beautiful (even if on a cheap guitar :P) It's a pity you can no longer post videos, best wishes!

  • Moi ! je trouve pas mal à la gu
