  • Hi. I just read The Botnia Dietary Study. They state that recent studies only show insoluble fiber to 'perhaps' be associated with reduced diabetes risk. What was stated though is the beginning of the definition of insulin resistance. Good video here since it is true that dietary fiber is inversely related to insulin resistance. It is also important to let the listener know what types of diabetes exist as well the information sources used.

  • i ate lots of fiber for years & im still suffering from digestive problems. my skin is shit too. too much fiber is bad & the reason you get 'constipated' when you stop is b/c you became dependent on it. did you know that milk for babies has NO fiber

    i need to cut down on breads & grains & all that shit. have way too many problems with my skin & digestion

  • Fiber is a complex carbohydrate that can not be digested by the human digestive track.

  • I used to eat san-bran which contains 15g of fiber per serving (2/3 cup), so that's a lot. Then I found out that yeast flakes, which I eat a lot, contains 22g of fiber per 100g, only 18.5g of carbs and a huge 47g of protein.

    Daily, I get at least 25g of fiber so I'm pretty pleased about that.

    My Dad was explaining that I have a high risk of diabetes, which I don't believe because my carb intake is always less than 100g a day and I eat a lot of fiber.

  • Fiber bulks up the food train that's makign it's way through your system... helps it pass through normally and comfortably and to peopel with GI issues, it can really change your life if you've been lacking fiber and gradually increase it
