sega saturn is like ps1 but half as good, same as dreamcast for that matter, sega shoulda ended that mistakes quickly but they thought they could save themselves, sega shoulda stuck to doing the best 90's arcades/games, eg naomi, vt2, segarally2/diehard/daytona usa2 etc... sonic ruled to but not on dc

I always thought Sega Rally was a good looking game. Obviously it won't stand up to Sega Rally 2 seeing as they're on different systems (although it has a much smoother frame rate than its sequel.) Also, Sega Rally WASN'T a launch title, that honour goes to Daytona, Virtua Fighter, Clockwork Knight and Panzer Dragoon!

The main reason why I kept my Saturn. Still plays great, ace for time attacks, shame it only had 4 tracks and 3 cars which is totally cack. The arcade version on the PS2 is ace, but only got released in Japan. SEGA Rally 2006 (Japan only) on the PS2 wasn't all that good.

This game was goddamn arcade perfect as far as gameplay went - played this until I beat the fastest time by a full 10 secs back when Sega Saturn Magazine UK were offering a years worth of free games for the fastest to complete the first 3 courses. I videoed that **** up, packed the vhs into a box, and then promptly forgot to stamp the package :P Being 10 yrs old is so noob :)

Sega Rally 2 was an unfavourable mix of arcade and simulator, I think. Sega Rally 1 on the Saturn was pure fun, whereas the DC had Metropolis Street Racer... damn MSR was such a bloody good game!!

I generally like these reviews but this one is bad. Sega Rally Championship was a great game for it's time. It had awesome controls and brought a new concept to rally games where different surfaces affected the car's handling. Plus it didn't look bad at all graphically for it's time. It was fast paced and colorful. In the comments you can see there are a lot of people who appreciate this game.

It's clear the reviewer hasn't played this game much, because there is a third unlockable car.
