  • im a upcoming jv player and i have to be able to jump serve i hope this help if anyone has any tips for me or know of any where else online i could learn more i would surly appreciate it!!

  • when i jump, i dont have alot of power like it goes high and far but it doesnt hav much power, prob on my toss but great vid!!!!!

  • i play high school volleyball, im on the freshman and jv team, and i hope if i get to learn how to jump serve and do it well, i can make varsity by the end of next year. i hope i can get it!

  • to bring the ball into game with a jump serve isnt that hard (playing volleball since last month.) but to do a useful jump serve that really brings the opponent into trouble is a hell of work so keep practising

  • Im 12 and i can kinda jump serve like 3/10 times but im just working on it but i have killer overhand serves

  • I've been jump serving fot a few yrs now and I only do top spin.... every once in awhile ill get a floater.... it's the most annoying thing ever when I do >:(

  • Everytime I try to jump serve I always hit my wrist and fail somebody help pls....><

  • ive been jump serving since i was 10 and i was only 4'8"

    lol

  • @darknessblade100 omg same!!!!!!!! wel over hand and i always had trouble cuz when i tossed it and ran after it my legs couldn't jump tht high cuz i was short!!

  • i wish i could jump serve ITS SO HARD ive practiced for a year now and i cant do it...maybe im just too fat : /

  • i only know how to jump float wish i could jump top spin

  • okay you do not hit the ball out in front of you and IT IS almost like spiking because you want to finish with your arm down at your waist

  • i can't get my foot work right just yet.... i need a video for THAT

  • 130,000 + videos? WTF!

  • @TheLeilisa

stop spamming any videos where you need to be tall

  • a slow motion would be really helpful to ilustrate everything.

  • how tall are you ?

    is 5'10 good for VOLLEYBALL?

  • i know HOW to do these things but executing is a whole other matter..i just dont have the coordination :(

  • @yyourfacee Practice, practice and more practice.

  • i have my jump serve

  • im 13 . I can have a great top spin / downball serve . Im learning to add a jump to it, to increase the angle point from where I hit .

  • @jovanify k

  • "And that is how you jump serve a volleyball." My ass, in this whole video, you only showed one demonstration of you doing a jump serve. And who knows? The ball might not have even went over the net.

  • I love doing jump serves

  • Less talk and more show....everybody can read that stuff, the video is supposed to show

  • This is a video ... I don't want to watch your face... no offense... next time try making a video with you in slow mo and the talking just as audio. Thank you! :D

  • so much talking! when a camp told me they just said think about an approach of an attack and hav a good toss and showed how 2 do it twice

  • Your jump serve looks more like a free-ball to me. Unfortunately if you are born with a perpetual slow twitch shoulder muscle like yourself, you might as well throw the ball over. I didn't hear you talk about foot work at all. "Feet" is the first thing you think about anytime in volleyball, not the toss.

  • u should show how to do it..instead of talking 2 much..no offense.

  • is there any freakin boys all year around leauges in Indiana?

  • hes jump serve sucks

  • daaaamn he's good

  • i can jump serve since i'm 10 :p

  • i'm 14 and i can jump serve it's so much fun!!!!! i really want to make junior varsity next year in 9th grade

  • your serve doesn't like good. you suck man!

  • i just got my jump serve last night and i also just turned 14!

  • @ineedabeachtan You sound like you acheived a skill in a video game.

  • im just starting to jump serve and im 16. i really like it cause its way more effective. i wanna be able to serve a jump float

  • yes this is legal.....when a ball hits a foreign object such as the ceiling, posts, antenna, spectators, team members not playing in the court, officials, even a bird flying.......that is considered as BALL OUT.....

  • @hobosrule4444 lay off

  • @hobosrule4444 you suck

  • my school is having volley ball tryouts in the next week and im 11 with absolutkey no idea how to play volleyball but after watching all this stuff i may be able 2 do it so thanks. :)

  • i am 11 and i am a good jump serve now because of you

  • wow i wish i could of jump serverd when i was 11 lol

im like 16 and have killer jump serves but didnt learn to do that till like 14

  • im just like you i can do killer jump serves and im 13 but i wish i could have done it when i was younger so i was better

  • I Wish i had killer serves when i was 16.. im 17 and im barely managing jump serves.. they arent so great.

are you on ur school team?

  • @xxslvrxx -im 11 and i can jump serve

  • @xxslvrxx im 11 and i just learned to jump serve but its hard to get to 6 i get it over the net though :)

  • @noeveras1999 don't be worrying about jump serving until you've mastered everything first lool.. Some of the teams I've played against all jump serve but can't get the ball over the net for shit elsewhere.

  • way to put down somebody younger, like the old saying goes, why don't you pick on somebody your own size

  • i can jump serve. im not the best at it but i can and im only 13

  • me too. and i can kill the ball pretty good. xD

  • so can i! im not the best my best friend is like the best jump server ever! i can jump serve too im only 13. im better at hitting though. im on the A team 4 vball at my skool which is like the highest best team:))

  • yeah its in the rules if it hits something on the ceiling or anything its a point for the other team

  • If it hits the ceiling and lands on your side, it's non-playable, so it's your point.

  • yep now i know since i accidentally threw the ball up and forgot to hit it when i was serving :( fuck

  • umm no, if the balldoesn't cross the net when you serve it considered out. When it hits the ceiling( and stays on your side) the ball is still in play. So if you serve it and it hits the ceiling, then falls down to your side its considered out. If you serve the ball and it hits the ceiling then it goes over, its considered out because the ball didn't stay on your side

  • I meant when the opponent hits the ball and it hits the ceiling on your side, it's non-playable.

  • oh sorry, then yeah your right

    haha i misunderstood you

    sorry again

  • It's no problem, no need to apologize.

  • it is.

  • I could easily dig a jump serve!!! Float serves however I can have a lil' problem but nothing major!!!

  • I too have trouble with float serves. Don't know why, but they always catch me off guard.

  • i think high toss is better to start with before quick tosses. just my opinion. timing does it all

  • try taking a two step uproach and hit the ball at its highest point also the jump flat is much harder to pass

  • 2 step approach? 3 seems like a minimum for any non-gimmick serve.

  • If you are using the same steps you do for your hitting approach, then your fine.

  • i toss mine mad high and just watch but then i take my three approach steps and jump like im spiking. if you put enough spin on it and hit it hard it will drop like a rock in the front row

  • your approach is fine kid

  • Ok Thanks.

  • ur approach is actually the most effective way to jump serve because it puts more power into ur serve

  • Thank you!!

  • your coach is probably teaching you a float serve, those tend to have quick tosses. this one is a top spin jump serve and you usually use the high toss for this type of serve

  • ok...that got me really confused... he says toss high enough to make an approach, but my coach says you need to keep your toss short, like i start off with left...right left (toss the ball like an inch from my hand)jump up and hit it....what does he mean you need to make an approach???

  • coaches usually say to toss short, because when you toss it high, most likely you won't make a perfect toss, so the ball would shift and cause you to mess up your serve. But when he says approach, its just as the word is. the approach is your "left right left & jump." (usually whatever your feel like doing 'L R L', 'R L R', w.e) But if you toss it an inch from your hand, it seems like your hitting a jump float.

  • you need to throw it high to give yourself enough time to run, jump, wind up, and swing before the ball drops too far down.

tossing it high means the ball will move faster as it drops, so timing your serve is harder. but the ball will have more spin and more speed going over the net.

  • yeah your probably doing a jump float ..wayy different

  • make an approch as in if you are going to spike it...

  • well an aproach is if you hit a down ball it goes right left right jump up and then hit the ball down

  • nooo dont do that that's not a good jump serve

if you do that u dont get high enough to send the ball down or enough to hit the ball hard enough

watch somev professional volleyball videos here on youtube (Olympic volleyball) and watch their jump serves. you'll see they throught it very high and approach. watch it. and you'll see what he means

  • key thing to remember is to always make your mistakes deep into the court. don't try and pound the ball right infront of the net.

  • im a good hitter, and my normal serves are fine but i just cant get the jump serve everytime. I often do not make good contact and ends up falling short...

  • i think you should expand a little bit, i am an intermediate volleyball player and i need a little bit more information on the hitting video too

  • hey volleyballcaptain2 i need a training program of volleyball for vertical leap.. i am volleyball player too :D

  • use your brain, when u're teaching someone u're not suposed to show a full-strenght serve, it's suposed that the watcher is able to at least see what's going on lool

  • @SephirothIshere hez a expert . . so he shows if u practice u cn reach this level of jump serve . . if this serve will be weak....this vid wouldn't hv had 63,000+ Views . .

  • thanks dude

  • thanks i scored the winning point with that serve

  • thankssssss

  • thanks =DD

  • that didn't teach anything

  • or maybe you just weren't listening...

  • thank you
