Idk why you guys are comlaining, before my dad shipped to Vietnam he lived in a hooch on Fort Bragg with 15-20 other guys. You'r esoldiers, your life isn't always going to be glamerous. Obviously the new barracks are not the answer so perhaps maybe we need to go back to the open bay style barrack: foot locker, wall locker, pad locks for security, common shower and toilet facilities like during WWII. I was in the Army in the 1980s and we had two man -three man rooms that was it. No private kitchen or toilet and it was the same when I got out and went to college and had to pay for it! Since you are being deployed constantly your not "home " to use this space anyways.

I can understand the crowded rooms, I lived on main post with 4th BDE we had the old like 70s or 80s room, we had two man rooms with 3 people in it, and NCO rooms with like 4 or 5 people in it. That overcrowding is an issue, but on another note. That first room looks unoccupied but maybe it was assigned but no one moved into it yet. I'm guess you guys just moved in there?

i was in 4 BDE also, i remember having 4 people in a 2 person room. those baracks all around the airfield are horrible. nothing like the ones on north fort. i'd rather live in the north fort barracks and be crowded than the ones that we were in.

Come to 3rd brigade 520 and look at the 1 man bedroom me and my roomate share, along with a common latrine, 1 kitchen for 2 COMPANY's and 2 sets of washers and dryers for my whole floor. I really feel for you guys. I remember my husband being in a room with two other soldiers and he had much more room than these pictures you've shown, and this was 20 years ago! The comment about your command not keeping to standard is correct, they've ruined a good thing and made it worse. Send this video to your congressperson and senators and keep doing it until it gets recognized

I'm sympathetic as a former soldier.. Barracks can and do at times suck ! All I can say is if you think that is bad just think how cramped sailors are on Navy ships ! Sailors share racks, at least you got your own bed!

What the heck is your problem with these barracks? The overcrowding situation is not a flaw in the design of the barracks but rather a flaw with your command for assigning that many soldiers into one barrack room. I was in the Army for 10 years and have seen worse. Quit complaining on the net to gain attention because the situation is not similar to the incident in Fort Bragg. Take your complaints to your command if you have the intestinal fortitude.

However my room was huge compare to yours...In fact my barracks still exist as of today. I think is building 2766? right in across what it used to be the madigan hospital..3 story high white buildings..go see them

Maybe you should go to the 4th BDE side of post and see what its like to live in barracks that were built 50 years ago. Ok for 1 now Soldiers are using the internet to cry about what they do not take care of. Every day Soldiers are destroying what the Army does provide for them, new or old. 2nd is that the 5th BDE Soldiers have new barracks and should try to live in what 3rd BDE has lived in for years. Give it time.
