lol my dads computer is one of those vista computers but really i dont like vista, anyway i played farcry on his pc and it boots of all the time. One time i got it to work but when i went outside of the sewer it was just colours and crap everywhere lol "im not sure about the details of his computer all i know really is that its vista.

it's not vista that would cause that problem, it would be the GPU. either drivers are out of date or it can't handle the graphics

I have a EEE PC with windows XP on it. I also have Far Cry on a 80 GB external Blue Eyes driver. Mine has water But laggs alot. Half the time my driver dosent boot. would you think 2 GIGs of RAM would help? (im making a video of it)

I just upgraded ram to 1gb and overcklocked it to 1ghz, I dont know how much it will help for farcry, but for lineage2 it realy helped.

To be fair, this proves nothing. Everyone knows at 900 mhz things arnt gonna be as smooth as a high spec machine, I assume its onboard graphics as well. The eee pc is not a gaming machine, the fact it can even handle windows xp is a miracle.

Win XP, on this PC runs very good, there is no problem with it, I even watching HD video on it. EEE PC is more powerfull than winxp needs.

I agree, this is not gaming maschine, but you can play some games on, while you are on the trip.

mhz are the number of clock cycles per second a processor can perform, so they are as close as you can get to a measurement of a CPU's performance. Obviously there are other aspects that affect speed (FSB, the fact it has a solid state drive). While the miniumum spec for xp is 233mhz, id love to se an old 386 try and handle it.

My eee boots windows in about 15 seconds..Web browser up and running in about 22 or 23 lol. Yeah it sure is a miracle that it works at all.. Yeah..

How did you set the EEE to 900Mhz with Windows? I've seen people suggest the BIOS hack to do it, and a software program to up the FSB. Which way works best? I've read that the BIOS modification can brick Eees.

notice how he didn't go outside, that is where most of the performance issues people have with the game crop up.

He also didn't do anything that was really intensive (such as a gun fight with several AI, while explosions are going on, and helicopters are flying overhead) Impressive that it would run at all, but this is far from any sort of benchmark or indication even of what FarCry gameplay would be like on this little laptop.

The resolution is really small and at that resolution you don't need very high res textures or anything for that matter, even half life 2 episode 2 runs on this fine :D

Please note that if its set to 900mhz ITS NOT AN OVERCLOCK , it is its actual performance. People reports being able to reach max with stability 967.7mhz or a little more.... 900mhz is safe.

some say that CPU at 900mhz can overheat, they suggest to set it at 850mhz. I am always setting it to 900, it isint very stable, sometimes PC crashes.

I guess it depends on different EEE's then. Not every EEE are identical. If you're lucky, you get one fully stable at 900mhz =P , but i guuess is better at 850mhz like Archibalis says.
