Wrap this around your heads if you turn on the news man murders little child, and then the news describes how a CHILD was brutally murder if anything needs to be changed or censored then it's the news
bottom line, it effects a small amount of people, and to those people, video games could be a tiny portion of the trigger that leads to violence. so there is no point even debating, whats the point?
Ahh yeas the time of Atari what a carefree time....i recall taxi driver was in cinema's and Travis Bickle was blowing peoples heads off......what a fucking joke. There is no evidence that violent video games cause violence.
I like how the guy is saying that the qualities before playing videogames is what causes violence not that the videogames causes the qualities that lead to violence. Good report.
The irony is my mother is the other type: Very responsible, but ignorant. Luckily that means I don't (mostly) have the genes or upbringing of psychopathy, and so I enjoy entertainment without trying to live it, but unfortunately that means I have no interest in understanding what's so fun about dancing or grapefruits. Yuck!
Basically, the issue of videogame violence is the same as cinema sexuality or violence, comicbooks causing delusions of grandeur, risque novels, and going back forever in civilized society:
Parents without a sense of responsibility (who usually pass this trait down to their spawn) don't want to take the blame, and somebody smart realizes they can be very popular if they can find a "universal" scapegoat. I would tie this example – of mostly unsuccessful scapegoatism – to a popularity contest.
Desensitization to violence makes people more likely to NOT panic under pressure. After all, whoever heard of a combat medic who fainted at the sight of blood? If anything, violent video games encourage a Nationalistic point of view -- and that's a good thing! We need that now more than ever. National Revolutionary Vigilantism would solve all of Our Nation's woes. For example, what should we do about the subhuman degenerate internationalist cartels that treat humans like chattel?
So here's my question: I never thought violence really had an effect, and most gamers didnt either... BUT, what about other things?I don't think they have an effect (and I know language doesnt... Most kids hear more cussing in one day of middle school or one day with certain people/parents than they do in a game, and they turn out all right), but does anybody know that things like use of drugs, sex, and, maybe more importantly, disturbing things like that of Dead Space 2 have an effect?
people always say the kid is going to get it anyways. NOT IF THE FUCKING PARENTS WATCH THEIR KIDS. If it is that bad dont let the kid have the 360 or ps3 in their room. Put it where you can see your kid play.
shouldnt they be researching the Frustration of video games not the violents, like a 12 yr old will be more angry over Dieing over and over then seeing violents and BLOOD!!!

Desensitized? Only those with mental problems. Like Jack Thompson. He has one.

Yea that is the bottom line. Parents need to govern their children's activites. Parents need to step up to the role, not government.
