when I was in Temple Bar Dublin, I bought my first pint of Guinness, and after the bartender finished the first pouring, I wanted to take the glass but everyone beside me funny yelled at me to stop because I had to let it there for the final touch :))

It depends mainly on what kind of beer you normally drink. Guinness can be an acquired taste, meaning not everyone likes darker beer like this.
