Maybe you can solve the dilemma I'm in, I want a new guitar, either the Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX or the ESP EC-1000. What do you prefer and why?

@GusWrightBmx Thanks man! I get asked this all the time haha but I like them both about the same.. if I had to choose between them, I think it'd be Epiphone. It all comes down to personal preference. I honestly don't even play these anymore either.. got a 7 string ESP a few months ago and have barely touched my 6 strings since haha

@REVofRoCk1 My 7 string is an H-307 with Seymour Duncan Blackouts, so it's fairly similar to the 351 you mentioned. It's a great guitar, but they only made it for like 2 years around 2001 though.. my first guitar thats a neck thru, which is awesome.

Also going to be upgrading my macbooks harddrive and getting an external RAID drive from them as well. My buddy got the iMac with a 512 gig SSD and a 2 tb internal.. that thing is ridiculous.. only 8 gigs of ram, but that SSD helps run his programs really fast.

@FillingtheVoidReview Thanks!! I shoot myself in front of a green screen playing each guitar part separately. I then upload to my computer and use the chroma key filter to key out the green. Once I do that, I am then able to layer the left and right video. I use Final Cut Express 4 and it comes with a wide variety of video filters/effects, only thing is.. Mac only software.. If your running a PC, I would recommend Sony Vegas.. I have never used it, but have read that it is comparable to FC.

@ledeadmandu666 I plug my guitar right into my POD UX1 which plugs into my computer via usb. The tone I made for my guitar was with the program that came with the UX1 called POD Farm. The UX1 also came with Ableton Live 7 (limited version) which is what I use for recording the tracks. Hope this helps!

@tburn66 They are both awesome guitars and you can't really go wrong with either one. I would recommend playing them both before you buy and find if you like one better than the other.. I never played either of them but I'm lucky enough to have both!

really the main thing which amazed me was the effects but not so much the audio next time focus more on down picking technique and audio rather then insane effects:)

I usually just play what's comfortable to me because people say that theres a huge difference in the sound and agreed, if you listen closely you can tell, and you can obviously see haha but I play so it's comfortable to me:) Also, yes the tone isn't great at all but thats because it's a computer program! hahah I plan on buying a nice amp and a good mic in the near future so that should improve!

I can't decide on what guitars to get because I'm getting rid of my ESP KH-202 and its terrible. So i've been noobing around a bit with the reviews and stuff but I can't choose between a Epiphone Les Paul Custom in Alpine White, A Epiphone Prophecy EX or the ESP LTD EC-1000. If you played any of those can you give me some reviews about your experiences with them? I need some serious opinions and its hard to choose!!

I like to play my ESP better but I like the colors of the Epiphone. I love the ebony fretboard on the Epiphone.. Put it this way, I wish my ESP had all the colors that the Epiphone has, that would be an overall great guitar to me.

I can't complain about either of them really. I'd recommend trying both of them out. I would say look for a used one and just wait for a deal (make sure there aren't any major problems with it) and you'll save some cash!

I actually tried playing the end of the solo all picked but I couldn't get as close to the sound as I could while doing the pull off's so I figured I'd stick with that, as for the the octaves in the solo, I'm not sure I know what you mean? (note that I'm not actually a good guitar player when it comes down to knowing scales, chords, etc, I learn with the help of tabs and to get more accuracy, I learn what isn't correct, by ear.. as best I can!)

Btw a request would be to do some Mors Principium Est. They're melo death, so if you're into melo death check em out. They're really great, also they tune in E standard, which is interesting. Anyways great vids, keep em' comin!

The epi is a great guitar for the price, I would personally go with an esp again but it's all personal preference really.. and the epi sounds really good with a clean tone, the emg's give it a nice unique sound when compared to standard humbuckers that come in other similar les pauls. Also, I took a listen to Mors Principium Est. They had some guitar riffs that sounded pretty cool but other than that, they don't do much for me... any song's in particular that you would recommend to listen to?

About MPE, I personally really liked Finality and uh Inhumanity alot, but also some instrumentals they did, such as Lost Beyond Retrieval and Forgotten. Also the solos in most of the songs are pretty great. But yeah thanks for checking em out and considering it atleast! Can't turn everyone on to your own taste in music eh. :D

Thanks!.. I use Final Cut Express 4 (Mac only) and it came with a bunch of video filters. Many of the filters I layered on top of each other. That way you can get even more out of what they already provide you with.
