he pushed the graphite pencil down hard so obviously its going to be hard to erase...you should try to keep the drawing loose and light and not press down hard at first. same thing with blue lead, if you press it down hard enough its gonna be hard to erase....plus that eraser is shit...i use hi-polymer eraser.
The best reason to use blue pencil is beacause you dont have to erase at all. Just scan the page and then go to photoshop or gymp and lighten up the blue und the cyan (till 100%). If u use a photoblue pencil you dont have to do even that. Thats the reason to use a BLUE pencil. Matt Cail could use a yellow or a green pencil for his reasons. And at last, if you push with the same presure then blue is actually harder to erase.
i use yellow pencil cause its a light color and easyier to erase than an orange pencil to tighten the pencils just because i can use ink and know ink from pencil.rather than having the hassle to know graphite from ink.BUT HEY what do i know
I like the Blue pencil, mainly because it doesn't look smudged and I don't feel disturbed as with black lines... I don't feel like tracing over but directly inking.
Sure, graphite pencil is difficult to erase if you use as much pressure as you did in this video. Same goes for the blue pencil, which shouldn't even require erasing anyway.
Blue lead. Blue lead. What is blue lead? Is it an actual lead that comes in .5, .7, or .9? Is it a special made pencil that just so happens to have blue lead? Can I find blue lead at a walmart or Michaels and put it in a normal lead pencil?
Sorry, but I choose not to use blue lead, it tends to ruin my Micron pens when I trace over the blue lead. The exact non photo blue pencil I'm referring to is the Eberhard Faber col-erase Copy-Not #1298. What's the purpose of using the blue if you still plan on erasing? Just draw light enough with a 2B pencil. Just my opinion on the matter. Thanks!
when he first started drawing i thought it was a dick alright seriously though very informative but not neccessarily the best vid out there especially the onking part he tells you to trace!!inkers dont trace they interpret giving art texture life and shading!!
cool :)

It doesn't matter, the info used here is just common sense. The artists in the video is must think we're retarded.

where can you buy that blue pencil
GordoLuis1234 3 years ago
any art store that has drafting supplies. Drafters use them alot because they don't show up on blueprints.
