This is an awful display of parenting. Of course its not right to just outright physically assault those who have wronged you, but Arthur gave a simple, clear instruction to DW, and that was "Do not touch my model airplane", but DW stupidly disregarded this rule and threw it out a two story window, which even for a child the age of DW, is a pretty stupid thing to do. Arthurs actions were justified, and DW should have recieved harsh punishment for what she did.

In terms of child rearing, physical violence shouldn't be condoned in any circumstances short of self defense. DW should be punished LIGHTLY and be told to have better regard for Arthur and his property. The negative consequences of her actions don't match her intentions.

As satisfying as it is to watch that brat get hit, it is important to not let empathy cloud your reason.
