  • The BDX2100 is £84 delivered on Amazon. Less connectivity round the back but the SD slot up front has been replaced with a USB port.

  • I have this player and let me tell u it fuckin sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Dean1806 why? I'm thinking of getting 1 i've heard alot of good things about it, and its quite cheap at £90 in the UK

  • @wardy92 im thinking of getting it to have you got it

  • Poor Toshiba, you can hear their HD-DVD execs in the background grinding their teeth !

Toshiba is the only company bringing affordable Socialists goods to the consumer without lining the pockets of corporate fat wigs !

  • very good player but too slim.it should be more bigger and heavy like the others players from denon yamaha onkyo sony and pioneer.

  • Screw HD-DVD :)

  • good musix

  • almost 2 years ago toshiba where making HD-DVD players now BLU RAY players

  • Ps3 is the most sexiest blu-ray player out there,

  • Why couldn't they make this player look like their best HD-DVD player, the HD-XA2 or any of their HD players? The HD players looked waaay better than this thing!

  • sony says tosiba would one day cave in and today is the day!!!!

  • Of course it would happen, and Sony knows this by experience.

Sony themselves had to cave in to JVC and make VHS VCRs in the late 1980s when it became obvious that Betamax could not overtake VHS.

  • TOSHIBA BDPLAYER BDX2000 i personally

think is the sexiest Model out there on the market. just my opinion btw

  • me too

  • i don't understand the difference between 1080p and 1080i.... wich one is better? can some1 tell me, please?

  • 1080p. it not ALOT better than 1080i but it abit better. 1080p is high definition and 1080p is higher defenition. 1080p is only supported by bluray.

  • hd dvd can't support 1080p?

  • that's bullcrap. all the later model HD DVD players had 1080p output, and content on the discs was almost only 1080p.

  • no point go look it up diffrence between hd and bluray.

  • I searched in wikipedia and both can support 1080p. the only difference is that blu-ray has more GB and better sound.... (the xbox 360 supports 1080p)....

  • what!!!!!!!!! 360 does not support 1080p cos it doesent have bluray, only bluray supports 1080p xbox supports 1080i

  • uhm...no. The 360 most definitely supports 1080p.

  • That is incorrect. Models HD-EP30, HD-EP10 as well as HD-EP35 (all from Toshiba) supported 1080p.

A real shame that Toshiba didn't include HD DVD playback on this machine.

  • "A real shame that Toshiba didn't include HD-DVD playback on this machine."

That was most likely done to keep the cost of the player down.

HD-DVD's backbone made use of some proprietary technologies, including some by Microsoft such as HDi.

Inclusion of the technologies required by HD-DVD would mean licensing costs that must be passed on to the end user.

And as it'd likely only be purchased by those who have HD-DVDs, mass producing such a player wouldn't be worth it considering the cost.

  • According to the HD-DVD standard, one of the supported modes is 1080p.

Blu-Ray Disc isn't the only format to support 1080p video and it's not the only standard to support it, either.

The PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360 also support 1080p so long as the software is programmed to support it and the gaming system is connected via HDMI.

1080p is just a label for the resolution scanned in progressive: 1080 horizontal lines or 1920x1080 in pixels. Nobody holds exclusivity of that.

  • P means it does the whole picture at once . i means it does half at a time. all flat panels use P .

  • That thing is ugly as hell.

  • Now TOSHIBA officially give up to SONY technology.(leaving HD-DVD)

  • Who the author of a track?

  • Si je ne me trompe pas.

    Artiste : Barbara Morgenstern

    Titre : Ein paar Sekunden

  • Is that front panel motorized? If not, what happens if you hit the eject button with the panel closed?

  • Nice Toshi on the right track !

    Wtf is HD-DVD ? :P

  • They said it was The Look And Sound Of Perfect!

  • I like it !!!

  • No HD-DVD support, no sale!

  • Would buy a Toshiba player over a Sony P.O.S any day.

  • What no HD DVD supprt?

If this thing had legs, there would be a tail between them.
