Personally I have never liked this kind of Heavy Metal. The singers all sound the same to me. If other metalheads like this stuff it's cool but its not for me. I like Thrash bands like Testament, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus, Overkill, Anthrax Etc...

Scorpions, Sabbath, Deep Purple and the like invented heavy metal and the thrash style was there, just done in a more mature and musical way
Metallica didnt start this stlye in any way. Motorhead, Venom, hell Overkill was around 3 years before Metallica they just didnt get an album releases til three years after kill em all. Some people need to look up their timelines here. Metallica got it in the mainstream. Released 3 maybe 4 good albums then shit themselves and wiped their asses with money.

Trivium has some good lyrics and melody overall and I don't give a fuck what you think. Slipknot is not good but I am not bitching people who like it, its their choice. I would still listen to they older stuff, If the band want to do something different(even if ithey do it just to become mainstream).I would still listen to they older stuff. e.g. Anthrax, wich is my favoretite band. I dont' prefer their sound in Bush era(thet didn't become mainstream, but still), there's also Metallica, and not to mention Iron Maiden. Theiy became sort of mainstream, and started to make music I don't really prefer, but I still like them as bands.

neither of metallica, motorhead etc.. invented this style, it was all through the 70's too, but not as distilled. Listen to STone Cold Crazy by Queen. Recorded in 1974. Scorpions, Sabbath, Deep Purple and the like invented heavy metal and the thrash style was there, just done in a more mature and musical way

Metallica didnt start this stlye in any way. Motorhead, Venom, hell Overkill was around 3 years before Metallica they just didnt get an album releases til three years after kill em all. Some people need to look up their timelines here. Metallica got it in the mainstream. Released 3 maybe 4 good albums then shit themselves and wiped their asses with money.

I do like some of the earlier Trivium, but they are walkin down the path that Metallica cut. When bands start caring more about record sales and ticket sales more than making music that pleases themselves, it all goes to shit.
