  • PISS ON YOUR FUCKING RULES NURSE RACHET !!!

  • I AIN'T NO LITTLE KID!

  • I WANT SOMETHING DONE!

  • This is a really great movie and she definitely deserved that award because you truly believe her character and she plays it sooo well, all of them did!

  • Notice how her hair is put up!!!! They look like devil horns don't they?!?

  • Wow, reading the book and then watching movie was a bad idea. So MANY things were changed, like this scene wasn't done this way in the book. It was better.

  • @DarlingMyLove I watched the movie about 10 times before I read the book. I too agree that the book is better, and more thorough. But when is there a film adaptation that is better than the book? The movie definitely leaves a lot out, but I find it very interesting how they decided to sum up the scenes in the book...and sort of try to convey a lot of things in a lot less words/time. The film is still one of the best I have ever seen, which is great based off a great book.

  • SHE won Oscar , well deserved.

  • i laughed and cried on this movie man ...

  • Too much flanger for my taste...

  • LMAO

  • 0:36 thats fricken danny devito

  • goddamn it shut up! No one is getting better now! This is why we cant have nice things. :C

  • she wanted them to blame McMurphy...see him as their enemy...not her.

  • she never answers his question about the cigarettes...

  • @ritter89 ..yes she did...in a bitch move, she answered his question about why she rations them...

  • @Mspendragon72 yeah, i know. i've seen the movie about a half dozen times. i meant that she didn't answer the question in this clip. great film and great acting. i love when he screams "i ain't no little kid"

  • @ritter89 ...AGREED.

  • @ritter89 She rationed the cigarettes cos they were losing them all to McMurphy gambling

  • 1.52 I adore his screams.. my god.. he drives me mad!! especially his wild huge eyes!!

  • Vince Lombardi? Is that you? lol

  • i don`t know how to describe it but the pain and the gloom which dominates the whole atmosphere of the movie has so beautifully been passed on that it gets etched on the minds of the viewers for ever and who ever watched this movie with his inner eye can never come out of enigmatic and charismatic effects of this masterpiece

  • I can't imagine and see Christopher Lloyd serious :OO

  • Why did they edit out Lloyd's priceless facial expressions before he flips out?

  • Forget the cigarettes Cheswick. Cigarettes are not important, sit down will ya? Christ sake!

You know once Nicholson says that the tension is gonna eventually blow

  • I doubt that will ever be another film where ALL OF THE ACTORS performances were so powerful. One of the best movies ever!!!

  • I saw this movie when I was in high school in early 1975 & I remember being absolutely stunned by the acting. Most everyone in the cast (except Nicholson) was unknown at the time & the whole thing--particularly this scene--was just so realistic that I couldn't believe that I was watching a movie w/actors & not the inside of a mental institution. An absolutely brilliant film & probably Nicholson's best role (out of many).

  • Everything about this movie - the story, the dialogue, the acting, the direction - was fabulous. Unfortunately, it was too good for our own good. This movie was a huge impetus for the whole "rights of the mentally ill" movement of the 70's. It shaped public perception of state mental hospitals and was undoubtedly influential in Carter's policy of abolishment. As a result, our prisons and our street corners are now home for large numbers of mentally ill people. We need to bring them back.

  • I want that television set turned on RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrChupacabraLoco Wow. You're completely psychotic or drunk.

  • @Cooleo299 He hadpretty good point accept inulting women part though.

  • @shoe697 yeah but sometimes men can force women to be like that. Sorry but its true

  • @Cooleo299 Depends on the guy though. Not men in general, just maybe 60% roughly but i grew up with a father who literally had my mom wrapped around his finger and she hated it. So iit depends on guys personality yyou know?

  • @shoe697 yea thats what im saying mate, this prick here is being sexist and all bout women, and im sick of hearing it -.-

  • Best movie ever? Could be.

  • @MrChupacabraLoco Sorry but....What is wrong with you? Did the 1940's crawl up in your ass and die? That's not what the scene was about and you obviously have some mental issues of your own if you can't figure that out.

  • PISS ON YOUR FUCKING BALLS MISS RACHED

  • Now to win the best Actress all one has to do is put on a Tutu:/

  • @azabache1999 i bet a dime.............

  • Wow, so many great actors! I'd forgotten. Sounds like some serious stuff there. Reminds me of SPRTC & MSH back in that day. Has anything changed? I doubt that very much. I 'm so sorry ....

  • Epic trollage!

  • "Are you calm, Mr. Cheswick?"

    "Calmer than you are."

  • Those actors must have fucking LOVED making this film.

  • @LeLimeLine it shows. its a great fucking movie

  • i wud bang that chick next to ratched in the butt

  • @Spac3Trance She's probably like 40 or 50 now...

  • is that christopher lloyd that gets the cigarette in his pants cuff?? i dont find him in the credits

  • MASTERPIECE

  • @CommanderShepherd2000,

This version misses the entire explanation of why the cigarettes are being kept from the residents, namely McMurphy has won them all in his crooked card games.

  • MRS. RATCHED! I ASKED YOU A QUESTION

  • @Pacemakerguy14 XD Cheswick takes shit from nooobodayy!

  • People say Nurse Ratched is hot, but I really like the assistant nurse who sits there looking like she's scared out of her mind. Just her expression and face...she;s beautiful.

  • @wainscottbl I agree.

  • watching this was the greatest part of my sociology class.

  • this really happens in mental hospitals i was cmmitted several times myself i have bipolar disorder some hospitals not all abuse the mentally ill

    david millhouse 100

  • this really happens in mental hospitals i have bipolar disorder and i have been committed 6 times and i have seen this happen

    davidmillhouse 100

  • @clipperlover1 your right mee too i was committed 3 time. Its scary stuff idont want go there again

  • this really happens in mental hospitals i have bipolar disorder and i have been committed 6 times and i have seen this happen

  • On the version I watched, when the guy starts screaming because of the cigarette in his shoe, it shows his face change as he notices the burning sensation and then he starts screaming. On this version, he just suddenly starts screaming out of nowhere.

How many different versions are there?

  • @CommanderShepard2000 I don't know how many versions there are but I think this is a better version. The scene is even more dramatic because you hear the screaming all of a sudden and you're not prepared for what's coming by a zoom shot of the guy's face. The scene is so rapid, so many things are going on you have almost forgotten about that cigarette until you hear the screams. Whatever the director's original intention was, I think it works much better the way it is edited here

  • This would make an awesome marlboro commercial.

  • @511TBone : 50 plus points. ;])

  • its a classic.

  • he said piss on your fucking rules. not womb. lol

  • This was obviously before the outdoor smoking rules...

  • Cheswick sounds like Paul Heyman if you're not watching the video

  • this is probably the best acted movie ever

  • Nurse Ratched has some scary looking snake eyes, gives me chills just looking at her.

  • @emlon92 : I LIKE her. She needs it like nobody's business. Crisp, white nurse's uniforms--rroowwwfff!! ;])

  • In the "UK"* they are to ban "advertising and display" at points of sale, Ie plain packaging of cigarettes.

Rules? Piss on you fucking rules!

    * Now just a collection of regions under provincial Gauleiter Cameron.

  • "Piss on your womb, Ms. Ratched!"

    LMAO

  • he sounds like a 7 year old at toys r us.

  • If the point of art is to invoke emotion this is the most artistic scene I've ever watched. I feel fear, pity, hate, amusement & about ten other things every time I watch this.

  • 1:53 is this a shorted version on the movie? The copy I own it shows Chris lloyd's face go from a smile to a grin and then he flips out

  • @BlueYoshiGamer Yes. The part where Nurse Ratched explains to Cheswick that cigarettes have been rationed has been deleted. Also during this deleted scene, we would have seen that Hardings cigarette has ended up in Taber's (Christopher Lloyd) pant cuff. Once Taber realizes this, his smile disapears into a look of confussion, then he screams from pain as the cigarette has burned through to his skin. We are also missing the part where Martini (DeVito) asks, "How we gonna win our money back?"

  • I'd say Nurse Ratched lost control of the group there. hehe

Seriously, cigarettes and control of the TV remote are huge power plays on the psych ward. This movie is just brilliant, unreal how someone like that nurse polishes her balls by punching a time clock everyday.

  • classic movie

  • real upsetting ending

  • Darn she was a mean nurse.

I was kinda glad when she got strangled, but then felt sorry for her lol

  • Best "break down" scene of a movie, ever.

  • I dont wanna see a remake of this, but if there had to be one, i do believe Sam Worthington would fit the role of Macmurphy.. idk why but it seems like a character hes waiting to play and show some real acting skills, but nothing will ever be as good as this movie and no one will ever top these guys performances, but its just a thought

  • oh, go buy a fresh pack of batteries, lady

    ;D

  • Perfectly natural. As a smoker, I know how desperate a person can get :)

  • Christopher Lloyd FTW!!! the actor who plays Cheswick is brilliant too. I really felt bad for him though despite how ridiculous he's being... he's very much like a child.

  • @QuoGirl

that's Sydney Lassick as Cheswick. I personally think he was more deserving of a Best Supporting Actor nomination than Brad Dourif as Billy Bibbit

  • @QuoGirl its Danny DEvito playing Cheswick....but idont know if you know the synopsis of the movie, but theyre all mental illness patients, so thats why hes childish at times.

  • @41admello i apologize, it isnt danny devito, its Sydney Lassik

  • Look at this and right now NYC is one Asylum and people are being treated like mentally ill kids with the restrictions on cigarettes.

Taking the metaphor wider, the control people put up with is amazing and when someone refuses to submit, they are assaulted, ridiculed.

  • RULES? PISS ON YOUR FUCKING RULES MISS RATCHED

  • Squeeze out a pack, only when ya feel like it! Miss Rachet! this is the funniest ever! I thought I was the only one who found this hysterical! its good to see there are others with the same wicked sense of "Thats funny as hell" as i do.

  • I asked you a qeshun

  • @gmccall22 squeeze out a pack only when you feel like it!

  • I'm trying to quit smoking this week and holy fuck does this speak to me.

  • @YahtzeeNazi any success?

  • @pumuk7 It was so easy I did it 7 more times. I'm on a week without even taking a puff from a friend though, so things are lookin' good!

  • un fuggin believable -great actors -all of em

  • unfugging believable - great actors - all of em

  • 1:23-1:25 GREAT SCOTT!

  • that's one of the best movies of all time.

  • Lassick was great in this movie but any one of these guys should have been best supporting actor

  • I AINT NO LITTLE KID, i'm not going to have cigarettes kept from me-like COOKIES! and i want something DONE!!

  • best film

  • this scene was way different in the book

  • @StarF0X69- How different?

  • He was so happy when i finaly got his sigarettes:=)

  • What....... A....... Bitch.......

  • its a classic.

  • when i read the book i pictured mcmurphy as being black... eh, whatevs it's still pretty beast. when was this made?

  • @tombraider1404 he's always talking shit about black people and he hates the black boys...

  • @tombraider1404 He was a red headed irish man in the book.

  • @tombraider1404 the 70s

  • This film is about how society will destroy anyone who won't conform.

Both political parties see the electorate as these patients, who if you remember are mostly voluntary, they could leave any time they wanted to. The thing to remember is, if you want to live like a Republican, vote Democratic.

  • this is the remake

  • this movie represents good vs evil (mac vs the nurse) at least thats what i wrote when i read the book lol.

  • Cheswick is so kind and sweet :) i fucking want that bitch nurse dead man :(
