  • I have been crocheting for over 40 years. Sure wish the Internet was around when I learned. Thanks for all the projects you post online. I would much rather crochet along with you then read a written pattern. Keep them coming.

  • @jcg1224 I appreciate your comment, thank you.

  • what can i do if i have 8 ply wool? is there any way that I can still make the squares?

  • thank you...will have another look & give it a try

  • I just wanted to say a very big thank you for your videos...I have only been crocheting for a short while but with your video's & clear, concise explainations I am becoming a true addicit....I have just finished a circle to square & im amazed at how easy it was...One question...do you have any vidoes showing how to finish the squares of as im finding that im pulling stitches apart.

  • @mattgyoung If you watch to 12:21, it shows how to finish off the square and secure the stitches.

  • I cant use a smaller yarn cuz it has to match the small poncho im making for my dog :)

  • I was wondering if you have something like this for a mini granny square? Like half the size 3 inch by 3 inch maby :) I have a design in mind like this one.. but not sure how to shrink it to half size w/o it looking to bunched up.. :) thankyou

  • My squares always come out different sizes all the time, can I still sew them together to make a blanket?

  • @patricia2uable Many of my squares are up to 1/2 of an inch smaller or larger. I try to piece them together according to a similar size. You can also work an additional round of single crochet to try to get them closer in size.

  • why does my granny square not lay flat like yours??? it keeps doing like a wave effect!!

  • @vfvaml1990 Maybe to many stitches have been worked. If that is the case, it will create a wave making the square to full.

  • @tjw1963 ohhh ima keep trying till i get it right

  • @vfvaml1990 You will get it!

  • I have learned so much from you and everything is so, so easy to follow. I just recently went to visit my mom in PR and she was making some babies things; it only took me about 6 min to learn the basic, and every since I got hooked to your page. I love your postings. Thank you so much for your time, dedication and help.

  • @LDGANDDGP7 Thank you for the comment. It is great that you learned to crochet with such ease. Keep it up!!

  • Thanks Teresa. I am going to go with your opinion, I have 64 squares to sew together and according to the book I took the pattern from I have to block every single square before putting them together!!! I do intend to use the afghan, it's not going to be a show piece!!! Thanks for your time, it has saved me huge amounts of hassle!!

  • Hi Teresa. I have finally got my granny squares ready to be sewn together to make my afghan however I wonder if you could tell me, when you made your granny square afghan (I watched you piece the squares together on another video), did you (do you) ever 'block' the squares before you sew them together? I have so many conflicting instructions about whether I should or not and would very much value your opinion...

  • @fuzzybint I would not block squares before sewing them together. Blocking is done with starch and to hold shape. If you are going to be using the afghan, I do not recommend blocking. It will be stiff and scratchy.

  • @twilightbabyz92 You are welcome.

  • I love the softer yarn, it does tend to shred if not carefull, do you find that happening to you?

  • @xenadome Yes, the softer yarns come apart a lot easier.

  • Hi, love this! I went to the link, and subscribed, but could not find written instructions for this - do you have them by chance? I'd love to try to make this tonight!

  • @adribakels I appreciate the comment! :)

  • I liked this granny suqare, made 16 and turned it into a poncho for a toddler. Everyone always comment on how good and unique it looks on her. I have been commissioned to make another for a niece. I just have to give you the credit for been a very good teach. Pls keep teaching!!!

  • @praiseyedlord Thank you for sharing your idea. I appreciate the comment.

  • @tjw1963 that gives me an idea for my grandbaby i think i will make a granny square cape for her also.

  • This is so pretty, I wont to try this in black and white I think it will look awesome. Thank you

  • thank you so much from france for the english, and crochet's lesson!! one day, i'll send you fotos of my hat production.. thanks one more time

  • @sudj80 I appreciate the comment. I also have a Facebook page. You are welcome to share images there.

  • i just made one with this video paused as i needed. mine just came out weird i think its because i used a regular yarn on the inside and a soft baby yarn on the outside so the inside is stiff and the outside is kinda ruffly. but its still cool i made something other then a granny square. and practice makes perfect right. =]

  • I really like your videos so much, and I made 2 hats as well. Could you please put a video on how to make sweater cover? I would be thankful. Thank you for the videos

  • hello, i really enjoyed this video and the explanations are very clear !

but do you happen to have a pattern writtensomewhere, for the same projekt, only bigger? I'm working on a blanket made entirely out of squares and i would love to add this pattern to it, but i need like 3 times bigger :(

  • @blueyurble2 I can't find the pattern either. I'd love to try and make this too. :)

  • @nickdanrebecca The link to the written instructions is in the video details below the video.

  • I was wondering if you have the link to this particular pattern? If so can you please send it to me ^_^

  • @JuneLuve The link is in the video details.

  • I have been trying to find a tutorial on how to crochet a loose knit tank top as a bathing suit cover up & have had no luck. I'm experimenting with alot of your different patterns in hopes to get something similar to what I'm looking for & I was wondering how to make these squares smaller so I can incorporate them into the top somehow.

  • You can use a smaller crochet hook.

  • Hi tjw1963, I'm new at crocheting. I'd liked to make a afghan. What hook and yarn would you suggest for a beginner?

  • I just finished this it turned out great i was wondering if i could make many of these and then stitch together to make an afghan can i do it ?

  • Yes, you can.

  • I love you videos! So helpful for someone like me who is totally unable to read crochet patterns!

  • Thank you.

  • You are welcome.

  • I just made this and absolutely love it! Thank you! I enjoy your talent!

  • Thank you.

  • I always enjoy your videos. Mostly, I wanted to thank you most kindly for indicating the crochet hook size in mm. Here in Canada, crochet hooks indicate their size in millimetres. I see you give sizes in both inches and centimetres and feel this is a sure sign that you listen to the people who give you comments. Please PLEASE keep up the great work.

  • Thank you! Comments are very important and I do use suggestions often.

  • Beautiful!! You did a great job looks good. Your a great teacher thanks for sharing : )

  • what do u do with that hanging tail at the end after you sewed it??

  • Cut it off.

  • done.

  • Like the yarn . colors, and workmanship Great video.

  • Many of my videos from around the second week of December 2009 and before offer individual videos for download for a small price.

  • Oh, wow! That looks fantastic, I can't wait to try making one! :) And I love the colour combination you used.
