  • Nice .. simple and right ... Sweetness ... Thx

  • very cool i like your cover! thx

  • Hei! Take a Look of My YouTube Channel, search "RICCARDO CADAMURO" and you'll find my riarrangiament of Jimi Hendrix LITTLE WING! Hope You 'll Enjoy it! CIAO E GRAZIE!

  • Music to my ears

  • simple and nice

  • Thanks, I enjoyed it and like your style, and to the people that have negative remarks, music is all about how you hear it and your interpretation of it, everyone hears and interprets differently...otherwise you're just another robot.

  • that was beautiful man

  • ya this versions fine, if you cant figure out how to play the song and imporvize from what hes showing you, your obviously not ready to be playing this song lol...thanks i know how to play it but i forgot and it was a good refresher of chords to pick it back up.

  • i will never attempt to play this song because it was not of this earth, jimmy was the vessel and God was talking through his amp. sorry brother if it's not him playing it, its just a bunch of notes that sound kinda similar.

  • Not bad dude.Keep it up

  • COOL COOL COOL COOL xD

I really like the sonund... i want a sheet... or a tab or something... i love this song.

  • You can get the basic chord structure from this. That's what it was intended for. Once you have this down, you can mess with the fancy bits of whomever you think does it best. And for all you naysayers, post your links so we can see how it's really supposed to be done. I'm sure everyone will be as polite and supportive as you've been.

No really, show us how it's done.

  • sux..

  • @kamikrazz

You're wrong dude! It's exactly correct. With the added attraction of not being the run- of-the mill copy of Jimi or Stevie's intro solo which everybody tries to cover.Miserably,I might add. I bet this dude could copy it exactly but what would be the point of playing someone elses' licks other than showing you had none of your own! Great job riffoe01!

  • fuck yea..

  • please you don't play anymore..........

  • thanks!!!

  • if you are going to teach people a song as classic as little wing,at least do your homework first!! im not downing him just his instruction and not his playing ,i could play lead behind it!!!!!!!!!

  • The notes are not good!

Hardly to hear what song it is!

  • good playing but the sound sucks... it might be the way you recorded it !?

  • This is the best lesson ever. Here's why. look at a tab in-conjunction with these chords, you will see that the notes played, fit within the boxes of the chords he is showing you. Trust me, it will make sense, and just like I did, you CAN learn how to play this note for note, just by playing, and UNDERSTANDING these chord SHAPES.

  • dude your amazing thankyou.

  • You master the guitar

    Thank you for sharing this.

That's what music il all about : share

  • Wow, this is fucking easy compared to other lessons, thanks man!

  • this is a great lesson. no note for note bullshit. just the chords. enough information to let us be creative with it without completely fucking it up

  • Mr colon, thanks for bringing me back to this video. Now that I look at it again, I notice that he misses a complete chord... there is a "C" chord immediately following the A minor. All you have to do is put your little finger on the Low E string "C" note while playing the Aminor and you get a "C" chord. So, once again, I see this video as counter-productive. no reflection on the player, just his take on it, okay?? Don't get your panties up your crack. Skid Row played it for THEMSELVES, not Jimi

  • @LenderRateMatch lol thanks for the chords. and i guess they did play it for themselves. i meant that they played it because they love and respect hendrix's music

  • I don't doubt that they like Hendrix's stuff, we all do. I think they put their own take on it (Skid Row) that did NOT improve the song, in fact I think it went a whole different direction, which is okay in Blues genre styled music. It's all opinion, mine is simply that I don;t like Skid's version, as it has no depth or dynamics. Peace bro....

  • I play for my own fun and this arrangement looks fun. I don't play with guitar snobs more than once.

  • Very nice! thanks for the vid.

  • niceeee i like it

  • this sucks

  • well simplified

  • wow !!!

  • Not really.

  • I think this is awesome lesson, I'm gonna learn this. It doesn't always have to be the exact album version to bee good and beautiful. Loved it, thanks!

  • thanks man u made it so easy that even i managed to learn this in few minutes... thanks again

  • Hey Critics - take a pill- thanks for posting bud- essentially you hit the right chords and notes. Your feel is your feel. Thanks

  • this isnt little wing :L

  • It helped me a lot to learn the song, thank you very much!!!!!!!!

Who thinks he can do it better should not comment, but post the link of his lesson of "little wing" , thank you, too!!!

  • WTF, he isn't playing the Mark Gormley song! It's ok though. He probably can't because it's so intense.

  • Well he's got a Fender.. guessing a Strat.. so lets just forgive him haha

  • Jeez!! You guys are harsh, it's only a brief demo. Calm down.

  • people he did not mention to play the whole song perfect, just to show us the chords and what's the strumming like etc.

then you can figure out yourself how to play it your way;)

I learned a lot from this video, it's clear and easy to understand

    thnx,,

  • I have read numerous comments on this from it sux to it's great and that this interpretation is just one of many and can help people learn the song. It does not. It says "How to Play....., yet doesn't show HOW to play it, just some basic chord structure that is not indigenous to the original, so it is counter-productive and mis-represented. I think the guy is a decent player, but has mis-advertised the video for hits. This video will NOT teach you HOW to play this song.

  • U totally miss it. In know way have u come even close to capturing the sound.U have added tones which do not belong there and your timing is horrific for it does not flow.U ought to listen to the song a couple hundreds times before u post this wanna be Hendrix garbage. By u doing this video which does not teach u will not be open to critism.

  • anyone who can play decently should be able to pick up the chords by watching this. there is a clear view of the neck and fingering. no it's not hendrix's version, but there are so many different versions of this song by so many famous people, i don't think we need to be putting this guy down for doing something different as well. it's different, but there is nothing wrong with it.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah i guess. the problem with you tube is that everyone hates everyone else's opinion. his fills were wrong but the chords were right. i just meant that every version of Little Wing that i've ever seen on you tube has been different. personally i like the Skid Row version from back in the 90's. I just don't see why every video on you tube has to start a fight. lol.

  • Of course. I hate that version by Skid Row. To me, it lost the entire meaning that Hendrix gave it. For whatever reason, people forget that Hendrix was NOT a flash player. He gave meaning to every note. Skid Row has none of that. Even Steve Vai, with all of his crazy fast stuff has some assemblance to his riffs.

  • god that version sucks...

but i disagree... hendrix WAS a flash player, just he didnt butcher his music showing off...

i hate it when idiots play a hundred notes nonstop just to fill up "space" in their song and show off their fingering skills when a short riff played with the teeth could be just as flashy and have 50x the effect

  • @B7aug5 you know you just proved him right. and the skid row cover kicks major ass. it doesnt have the same meaning for them as it did for hendrix cus hendrix was playing it for his mom. they were playing it for hendrix. they just like the song theres nothing wrong with that. i think i just proved kalvin4515 right too. lmao

  • well, there ya go... I have proven nothing, just like the video.... I think the REAL difference among the opinions is what you were brought up with..that is, the type and take on music. e.g.: if you grew up during the time that Hendrix played this tune, THAT is your mindset..that type of playing that classic rock has... as opposed to newer styles of playing, more like the big hair bands of the 80;s and so forth. I appreciate newer stuff, but Skid Row still sux, IMHO. Watch the thumbs down, now

  • Comment removed

  • @kalvin4515 lmao your the first person to say something mature on youtube.

  • @mralfredocolon lol well someone had to step up and do it. thx

  • @kalvin4515 ...an jimi didn't play that song the same way twice, he changed always a bit here and there.... and a good cover isn't a cover that sound perfectly like the original, for me at least a good cover has to be played with a personal touch ;) ...

  • @kalvin4515 hey you're so right!!! Eric Clapton plays a very very very different version, the music is free!!! But you know, there some some kind of 'Taliban Guitar Players' around here and you must to play by the songbook!

  • is not correct...

  • No man, this song is all about the FLOW, you're missing it completely :(

  • you gottaget high like hendrix to get the flow

  • thanks a lot for this video. i enjoyed the quick and dirty version as it is a good base to start learning a very intimidating song haha. much appreciated bro.

  • The only thing that I learned is that you are really good at guitar, haha. Nice job.

  • Nice! Thanks!

  • Nice tone

  • legend

  • well played!

but slow down the lesson bro!

    i'm a little retarded.

  • There you go!! Lots of times a song with this ones history and pedigree can be intimidating to players. THIS type of presentation makes it accessible -- might encourage a young player to take it and make it his/her own -- just like Stevie / Eric Clapton / Steve Vai and countless others have done. The artist honors the music by putting their spin on it -- so BRAVO!!!

  • Who cares if you play it note for note or if you just play the jist of a song. 99% of the time it won't sound as good if you play the jist of the song, instead of playing the real thing, but hey, if that's what makes you happy then who cares.

  • I love those seventh chords. I play bass, but any little new thing i learn on guitar really lifts my musical spirits up

  • sorry, but it doesnt sound enough like the song dude

  • ur kidding?

he didnt played note by note but this is wut matters, THE CHORDSSS!

  • Jimi's music is HOLY and Spiritual... especially this song... do not do a "quick and dirty version". If you are going to show and teach the tradition of Blues guitar honor it by taking the time to show it perfectly so all of us who want to learn can learn!

  • That's the gayest comment i've ever read.

  • If music (especially this song) is not held in high esteem by you then what is? If you don't feel that this is one of the all time greatest songs ever written and deserves the respect of being taught correctly. Then you probably have no musical taste, rhythm, or soul and you most likely SUCK as a musician.

  • Haha, wow. Get over yourself, and this song kid. You're speaking like hendrix is your god. He's the all-time greatest, yes, but if people learn the gist of his songs, that's good.

  • That is the difference between those who strive for perfection and those who strive to be mediocre. Those who strive for mediocrity want to the learn the "the gist" of something. Those of us who strive for perfection in the art we are studying want to go the extra 100 miles to get it right. You think Hendrix, Page, Bonnamassa or Clapton wanted to learn "the gist" of the art of Guitar. How Foolish...

  • You're right. They were perfect from you the gate, what the fuck was I thinking.

    Idiot.

  • You can put your speech in annotations, it's way better to assimilate :)

Thanks man :D love the song

  • Thanks mate. Good overview.

  • its a bad fucking version with wrong chords stop!!!!!!

  • You are right. He is missing the C chord, which is emulated by the Aminor.. only difference would be adding the low C note, using the "G" open form. (ask me later about the 3 forms). Then, the G to F (AFTER the C) are sus2's, NOT 6ths... (BB uses them, too, in Thrill is gone.) Anwyay, nice attempt. Keep workin, bro. You are a good player.

  • you suck

  • it's the right chords dumbass, he's just playing the chords without breaking it down like hendrix does. he got all the right notes

  • the Aminor7 should be a C.

  • @kamikrazzz

to tell you the truth, it's not bad, it's just his own version of the song.

  • Wanted to pick up my guitar, plug it in,and then.......... lesson was over :) lol

    still... pretty good playin !!

  • just asking in here, but that lesson would'nt be useful for the intro right, i mean i could work just as a verse right?

  • SRV, EC, JH - all go back to the master who influenced each of them...Freddie King - he was the first (that I know of), who played the licks all the other greats worked into their own style. Little Wing - most people overplay it - listen to SRV or JH closely - more soul, less pickin' - listen to the notes not played - didling not required...tx for the video. Cheers Man!

  • Lets take his strat away for leaving that mess on youtube. Just kidding I accually can figure out the song with that roughed in version. Thanks man.

  • You sir, have no business giving guitar lessons.

  • And you sir have no business commenting... He said it was a quick and dirty lesson. Get over yourself.

  • lol

  • he gave you a basic frame work figure out the rest yourself you lazy fuggers

  • suck

  • thank

  • which EFX did you put on?

  • it´s nice but it´s no tutorial!

and the quality is bad ;)

  • eh. wheres the licks man?

  • good playin...check my vid out...leave a comment, thanks.

  • I dunno if I commented on this vid already, but damn you guitar sounds amazing!

  • why are you sad fuckers arguing over youtube thats so bent

  • Comment removed

  • Conosco la canzone.

E il video è stato utile: non si smette mai di imparare.

    Ottimo.

  • i love it learned this song so easy thanks man

  • Not to bring anyone down, but this doesnt make sense. No feeling, no real playing, and if you DO want to show the basic chords youre off too. You are forgetting a C chord when comming around in the pattern. About LITTLE WING, most people are interested in the intro, not the basic chord which are pretty obvious.

Thanks for the effort thought, its an input.

  • I completely disagree. There is a million lessons out there on the intro and almost none on the chords of the song.

So thanks riffeo for putting this up for those of us who want to play along.

  • yeah, this "basic quick act" helped me a lot, thx!!!

  • He's just teaching you the chords, which are the building blocks of the song. He's helping you to learn the song by helping you help yourself.

  • too much of a cover, doesn't sound much like the original..

  • You are like a carpenter/construction worker of the guitar. Thats why you probably know more of other peoples songs than your own, and your OWn songs are directly ripping others. No originality, no feeling... Anyone can learn to play the guitar, but few ever truly do. Playing guitar should not be like doing a math problem, you think thats how Hendrix thought of music? You have to channel concentrated emotion, using the guitar as a tool/weapon...

  • I don't understand this reaction at all. The guy posts a concise video to show others that may be interested how to play a popular song. Perhaps, Karma-otic, you can a) just relax and let things be, or b) give a video example of "how it should be done", or c) both.

  • Wow, you are one of those who don't get it.

People like you keep power trios from being taken seriously.

Yes, he is playing someone else's song, but that doesn't mean he isn't a musician.

Nobody walks out of a performance by the London Symphony Orchestry saying, "well Beethoven played it better."

I all people do is criticize the covers that other guitarists play by, then your keeping it from being shared.

If Hendrix didn't want someone else learning his song, he wouldn't have played it.

  • I'm sorry, but I'm not fluent in everything that Cobain did, however, I will take your word for it.

If he did kill himself because someone admired his work, then he's the stupid one.

For every Cobain who is going to whine about someone learning his music, there are Pages and Claptons and Hendrixs who want them to.

Hendrix once said that he uses music to move people to act. He also said that he's heard himself copied so well that they copy his mistakes.

  • Finally, if Cobain was going to bitch about it like that, he may be better off dead, because someone will imitate or copy.

I am a musician, and I believe music is to be shared, or the player should never release an album.

If he's your idol, then you've been given a demented view on musicianship.

  • Karmaotic, you have a strange grasp of reality. If ol' Kurt didn't like others playing his music, then he was an fucking idiot! - case closed! Just who the fuck did he think he was? Women are reknowned for not wanting other women to wear the same shoes, hats, etc., but when guys get that finicky, well, it's perhaps time to seek another world to live in because in this one, real men don't have such tantrums. That shit is reserved for 6-year-olds.

  • what the FUCk are you talking abot

  • What the fuck are you talking about? You seriously believe Hendrix developed his guitar skills from scratch. He learned, examined, and played other people's songs in order to develop his own. That's what every single musician does. There is always an influence.

Learning songs is a great way to develop skills because you learn how music works,

  • @whoareyou342 then how did the first guitar player do it?

  • @flyaroundtheroom The first guitar player? WTF? "Whoareyou" is very correct. Evey guitarist learns from others, either through watching or taking lessons, listening, etc. The "first guitar player"? Are you saying the first person to ever pick up a guitar and play one? It probably sounded like shit. ;) The first guitar player probably studied classical music, in which case that person was influenced by previous musicians.

  • @revolutionarybaby haha, good call. you're prolly right.

just thinking out loud, i suppose.

    well, writing out loud. whatever

    you know what i mean

    haha

  • @whoareyou342 Hendrix developed his guitar skills starting by playing along with cartoons on TV! Hey---you got to start somewhere!

  • @whoareyou342 I agree, it is impossible to get that good without hearing greatness first

  • great lesson. im glad he didnt include the beginer crap in there too.

  • Un Ladri de aquellos, un chorazo, sanatero como pocos

  • haha this really is the "quick and dirty" version. this helps a lot though

  • Can you explain how you choose the singlenotes. Of which scales are they or are they just chordnotes??

  • some of it was from an E minor pentatonic blues scale I think...its one of the E minor scale i know. Some of it was just single notes from the chords though

  • cool

  • Thanks a lot simple and effective, is this the SRV version?

  • Finaly a guitar lesson that cuts through the crap- not intended for beginners and straight to the point and moving along quickly. beginner lessons are ok for beginners but it sucks when it's dragged out with- put your pinkey here on this fret and so on. Thanks for the vid and post more for advanced players.

  • Were you not ever a beginner then??

  • I don't think this song was intended for beginners.

  • I think he's saying that he's not now, and it is not worth doing everything as slow and simple as possible because a begginer might be trying to mimic a musical genius. There are plenty of easy songs for beginners to learn.

  • nice video.... but your not supposed to play pure chords... or bar chords... the whole song's strictly a blues riff on G.... and your missing a part in the intro....

  • Comment removed

  • ah I see 'Fender' now, but which model?

  • I'm pretty sure i a stratocaster.

  • What guitar is that? It sounds so nice!!

  • Anytime , you can bring someone to music, it's a good thing. An intrest to finally pick up that beloved stored guitar and start playing again ....There are many "great" guitarist , maybe even better than you. This song was played far and away "well enough"

  • not exactly a lesson but awesome to listen too

  • where is the emotion of the song?

  • that sucked

  • what do you do with the Em on the 12th fret at time 0:44? are those still the harmonics?

  • bien joue

  • Wow! So generous of you. Thanks heaps!

  • nice.........

  • Sometimes a fellow student is the best teacher. They haven't forgotten what it's like to work for it.

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • ha ha ha

  • thats how i like it...quick and dirty

  • And yet your username is safety

  • touchay

  • Quick, yes it is, but I miss the dirty part. What I miss the most is some feeling. Its such a sensitive song.

  • this sounds awesome ...

    what a beautiful guitarsound :-)

which equipment do u play ?

    keep it up

  • my favorite version!

  • I was simply saying that you do not play well enough to assume you are qualified to show others how to play. Teachers Teach....Students should learn well before attempting to teach. you have not as yet done so. Keep learning. I did not meant to insult you. You placed yourself before the world and should expect honesty as well as admiration. Not everyone knows the difference between an amateur and a pro. Keep trying, you have great potential. You are just not there yet. Happy Holidays to you.

  • Little Wings was actually played in Eb Jimi Detuned most of his guitars by 1 half step.FYI and next slide between the G up to A Then down to F.you should add9 to all three chords. Add G to F A to G B to A. All on the High E string. It sounds less lame that way.

  • was all that required? i mean it's not the like hendrix but no one plays it like hendrix, and do you really have to say it was lame? and just out of my own interest how long have you been playing? because i don't understand how anyone who had really paid their dues to the guitar would insult someone, who is either just learning or isn't that good

  • wow you are so cool.

  • This is sooooo cool!

  • my dad met a friend that met a friend that was jimis friend then he showed me tabs of hendrix written by him but there a bit oldy now so i put tham on a frame and i knopw hendrix songs like 5 or 6

  • I liked this version !

    Kind of cool.

    Cheers, mate !

  • that was great...nothing like little wing though

  • LOL!

  • Well... Why not appropriate a score... You can do Little wing the way you like, but may be you need to shuffle it up a bit... It's may be a bit too binary...

    Eitherwise, go on, mate !

  • Of course its not exactly like the original but it does have personal interpretation. That is what its all about. If you play something exactly like the original does it mean your an artist or just realy good at being a copy cat? What would Jimi do?

  • lulz

  • well,...that explains it

  • Nice ringing guitar tone

  • Helped me a lot thank you very much!
