@Kiamet He just means that the game isn't ACTUALLY about the Yakuza, all the time. You never do missions for them, you actually beat them up most of the time. The japanese name for the game is "Like A Dragon" and it's about an EX-Yakuza who now runs an orphanage and is all nice and good. Except he's one hell of a fighter.

@AnnyAnon most Japanese entertainment that were shared with the Americans were changed for Americans to understand and accept Japanese entertainment. this happened alot. i know it's not happening as much now but it still happens.a good example would be pokemon. some episodes were omitted and food like onigiri rice snacks were changed to sandwiches. there is an episode where the sandwiches roll perfectly intact down a hill. they were onigiri originally.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Sopranos, they cut out loads of content from the International version of Yakuza 3 because they thought that people outside of Japan just wouldn't understand the cultural differences, so the way scenes cut in and out is because of that. I'm pretty sure Sopranos has nothing to do with it. or they would've referenced it way before March 2010.

Honestly, it's probably better off. The Japanese voice acting is really good and sounds incredibly authentic. I thought the English voice acting in the first Yakuza was extremely corny and unnecessarily over the top. But to be on topic, this was fucking great.
