Read that during the civil war Lincoln and the Union Govt were looking into the possibility of re-locating the Federal Govt to the area of Port Angeles WA in case the confederates took Washington DC during the American Civil War. Also the US Govt had purchased some property at that time..
Absaroka and Lincoln should have been states instead of Alaska and Hawaii.
Alaska would be part of Canada, and Hawaii would be it's own country.
Then, we with Absaroka and Lincoln, we would have 50 states. Problem solved.

Alaska and Hawaii should not be states, they're not part of the "regular bunch".
