Right back at you, we really don't know anything about Ichigo's dad and mother right now, since he was powerless at the point in Ichigo's life, and since she did display some degree of power with Grand Fisher when Ichigo fought him, it could be assumed she too was a Shinigami without her powers. My theory is that Ichigo is a result of 2 Shinigamis giving birth to a human.

Honestly, my only real theory behind this is that his parents are from the Royal Guard, or "promoted Captains". Perhaps at some point Kisuke approached them, a few years before Ichigo was born. Ultimately I believe all the families are connected, even Sado and Orihime. The only one of the humans with normal powers is Ishida, as he merely uses tools of the Quincy. I think Ichigo's parents did something with their powers, and placed them in Ichigo. His father finally got his back, so we'll see.
