  • Gedenke mein, wenn ich gegangen bin,

    gegangen bin ins ferne stille Land;

  • CataDanna - Its a Chalk Drawing of Christina by her brother Dante Gabriel Rossetti - one of the founding members of the Pre-Raphelite Movement. I love this Poem its Beautiful. Great Post.

  • I read this poem at my sister's funeral a month ago. It wasn't until I looked at some of the poets my sister really loved that I understood her love of poetry.

Christina Rossetti is one of my sister's favourite poets and since discovering her myself, has been a real comfort to me.

Especially Echo, it's really a lovely poem about lovers who are separated by death.

  • Thank you for posting. One famous and beautiful poem of Christina Rossetti.

  • Beautiful poem, beautifully read. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • The best!

  • i luv this poem

  • beautiful.. thanks for the share, jignore :)

  • The delicateness of this poem by Christina is very much needed today. Robert, you have one of the most delightful channels. Each of these poems is a gift. Thank you.

  • She was so terribly sensitive.. I think there is a sense of fear in her words though too...fear that she would not be remembered at all.. or fear that she would be remembered too much and cause pain for others..

  • A splendid, touching, melancholic, beautiful, refined, concise and straightforward poem hard as an statement but tender and soft as a whisper. Long live the sensitivity of Christina.

  • Your words describe this poem so well.

Christina Rossetti can make you smile and cry.
