Which one do you prefer? This or Bamboo FUN Pen and Touch? Because I just bought the Bamboo FUN Pen and Touch Medium, and im wondering if I made a mistake.

@aprilstarfire The Bamboo FUN is more for beginners, since it's small, but I've seen people create better work on it than the Wacom Intuos4.

It all depends. if you draw with your fingers and not your wrist, bamboo is for you, but wrist or arm drawers need Intuos, because it's bigger.

Intuos also has 4 buttons that you can use to open different stuff as opposed to Bamboo's 2 buttons.

I've owned both and I find the Intuos easier to draw with (personally) but the Bamboo more durable. (nib-wise)

it felt big to me too after my tiny bamboo. you can adjust your settings to make it feel smaller from the properties menu if you feel so inclined.

Good news is, because they're powered through the usb only (except the cintiq), you can order one from an American website and it'll work on your computer.  I live in the U.K. and have an American bamboo fun...

Hey, I'm getting an Intous4 on Tuesday, and I don't know which size to get. At first I thought Large, but that seems too big. Is the medium better? I know this seems like a noobish question (first tablet I'm getting) but can you scroll down, I mean, if I was using the medium would I be able to scroll down on the screen and draw more? (not sure how to explain this :|) Or, can I only use the amount given?

think of a tablet like a mouse track pad on a laptop. you cant use the mouse just in the little area the trackpad provides. these are pretty much the same concept but much more complex. :D

You're correct about the ID Rings. Intous4 is having a few pens coming out later this year, including an art pen that will have a chizel/chisel nib. ID rings go on the pen so you can use more than one and still have separate settings.

I'm getting my intous4 next month, but not sure if I want a medium or a large..

Agreed, the large ones are really usefull. Even if you have no table (in front of your laptop for example) you can just sit cross-egged, put it on your lap and still draw comfortably.

I got an Intuos 3 and I'm actually pretty happy with it exceeeepppppt for the shitty touchpad stripes. I can't deactivate them and it's just so damn annoying when you're drawing and just accidentially slightly slide over them and ZING zoom into the picture. Hate that 8C

I got a medium, but I noticed that with my stlye of drawing I set my wrist down on the surface and just move my fingers, so I wish I'd gotten a small. With a medium you have to move your arm all over the place.

oh yeah, I have been using it for a couple of days now, and it's great for drawing, coloring however is still verry difficult, so I am just drawing different objects (spheres cubes etc) to master shading and highlighting, it's definitely not as easy as on paper (drawing is). Atleast thats what I think :)

it's easier for you to draw on paper? damn im jelous, it's easier for me to draw in photoshop but i Appriciate traditional art more, and it's great you're taking your time to practice, it's great that you have the patience for it, keep on :P

well it looks like a replacement for the one that's already on the pen but i cant see how it's possible since there're no holes

you can twist the pen cap off and remove it.

@sBlitzing Its an alternate grip, for painting. Some people don't like the buttons, so that covers it up.

This is an old post, I know, but I know that that black pen without the holes is for.

Some people don't like having the button on the side, so there are instructions for how to remove the button. You then replace the rubber on the pen (it can slide off) so you don't have a whole on the side.

It's for people who like the feel of holding a brush. I'm one of those people, that's how I know.
