Also btw, i know there aint much you can do but the common mistake with a custom DN is that most people use lined paper, that is wrong, the DN has plain pages, you can tell in the "Lind. L. Taylor" shot

Oh, I had the same thought. I tried to find a plain page notebook (even tried to find one with yellow "old-looking" pages).

But my friend Rafael showed me some scenes in later episodes (mostly the last ones) where they show the notebook from really close, it really has lines on it. And even in the L. Taylor scene on episode 2 you can see the lines. But don't worry - it's your notebook, you can make it any way you want ;)

It's not really hard, takes about an hour if you're skilled. Took me a couple of days.

I thought of that, but I wanted to make it more realistic. Like an old and "long used deathnote" from a shinigami. That's why I got the tarnished version of the black paint. And the deathnotes are actually soft cover in the anime.

I do admit it would have been better to write some rules and stuff though.

I made mine in a few minutes and it turned out good. Here's how:

I printed the official death note logo on a black notebook cover. Of course, there is no clearly white ink so the printer just left a "stencil" of the letters with no actual white ink on the cover. But this is exactly what I wanted. Then I followed the stencil with a white marker carefully so the font would look good. With a sharp tipped white/silver marker it will look good.

Have made alredy, not as cool as your's.

I found leathercoated notebook from bookstore and bought it and writed "Death note" into it with craftknife by remowing some leather bit by bit. It's not as goodlooking as done by your style. I writed on the first page "How to use it" and i tried to mime Ryuk's handwriting. I wrote all essential, like "person who uses Death note can't go to Heaven nor Hell".

But it's dear to me. :D

Trying to find better notebook and make new using your style. :D

And I don't know if you're american (they haven't shown the entire series there yet) but on the last episode there's a scene where someone writes a few names the way I did.

AND there's a rule that says you can write a person's first name on one page and the last name on another. It still takes effect.

1:buy not book

2: print death note title on blach piece of paper

3: print rules if you wish

4: take title and glue on front of book(do same with rulesd on inside cover)
