And this vid has earned you yet another subscribe. Very much to the point. I can't believe there are so many prejudiced people out there who insist that the fundamental rights of LGBTIQ people be put to a popular vote! If that was done consistently in our history, blacks would still be enslaved and as far as gay rights would be concerned, we'd be no more progressive than Iran! So I'm hoping the Supreme Court puts a stop to this nonsense.
I love this video. As a Christian, yes, I believe that homosexuality is wrong. However, I can't assume that the rest of the world believes like I do. That's so close-minded and concieted. Christians are supposed to be non-judgemental and love everyone. I believe that everyone deserves to be happy no matter what. Just because I think something is wrong doesn't mean anything. There are probably things I do that non-christians think are wrong. I completley agree with you...keep it up! <3
You had it almost right when you said that the word marriage has been in the english language since before christianity. Christianity was founded long before the english language, but either way, the concept of 'marriage' (though it wasn't called that back then) was around long before christianity even came about. It was a pagan tradition. I find it frustrating that christians sort of highjacked the word for themselves and are now trying to alter the constitution for their selfish purposes.
The United States wasn't founded on Christian values. It was founded on secular values. Most of the founders of this country were actually Deists, not christians. Thomas Jefferson said outright that this country should not adhere solely to theological principals because he felt that this would surely lead to a theocracy (and the country would fall back into an age similar to the Medieval age in which the world was ruled by religion. He supported the total separation of church from state/govt.
That is correct. That is why the founders said in the constitution that there should be not only religion OF freedom in the United States, but also freedom FROM religion.
everything you said is absolutely true. to hear that someone can HATE someone, because they like a certain gender? it's just horrible. my uncle's homosexual. and like you said, you would have no idea at all, ever. to know that people would think he deserves death for something he can't even control, is heart breaking. i'm straight, but i believe homosexuals should have just as many rights as i do. thank you for this video. i'm putting it on my myspace :] haha
It wasn't formed under Christian values, it was formed specifically under secular values to avoid any religion from controlling the country and oppressing others...
so not fair. the hatred, that is. and i really hope that people don't stop fighting until this problem is solved, and that you all don't settle for anything less than you deserve. but, you're welcome :].

Part of the problem is that Christians take the Bible too literally and don't see it for it's symbols and hidden meanings.
