lol if there was a track thay could be safe enough and good enough for nascar to race on without restricter plates that race would be the best out of all iv sean so far! Just to see how fast nascars racecars can go at top speed!
I agree only a "REAL" man can get behind the wheel of a stock car and go around a track at 185MPH. To think that some ignorant people say that NASCAR isn't a real sport. They've obviosly never watched a race and seen what type of strategy it takes to compete an win in the Sprint Cup Series.
I must say having once said that Nascar was shit, I was told to watch it to see. It's such a strategic style of racing, which now has me glued to the TV when Nascar is on.
It's pretty common for endurance race cars not to have an idle circuit. Not quite sure why. This is why a lot of highly tuned engines are 'blipped' constantly while they arm up.
i went to nascar tech too and if you think thats awesome you should see a real car get dynoed... those cars are running smaller jets and are limited on hp to keep from blowing the engines so soon b/c of how much they get ran
This is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

i wanna see them run with out the restricter plate, i mean i no it's not safe but the plate takes over 50% of the power away and still hittin 190

rusty did a test at talladega in 04' without one, 228mph at the end of the straightaway and averaged 221mph for that overall lap

NASCAR engines have idle circuits. They have to stay running during a pitstop, and if you listen closely to them, you'll hear them.
they idle at about 2,000RPM or so, most of the time.
TestECull 3 years ago
these engines idle anywhere from 1400-2300rpm depending on cam profile and if roller or flat tappet.
jrkoff 3 years ago
they idle about 1,500 rpm, the cup motors have a flat tappet, and nationwide cars have a rollor lifter
