Hi, how long have you been playing buddy? The rim hits you're doing should be replaced with proper cross sticks matey, get a muck deeper and better sound, check out a clip to find out how to do it properly here, will make it sound better, think you will do a better cover if you have the song playing into headphones too so you can hear it over the drums to keep time. Keep it up nad put another vid up in a month and you'll see a big improvement :-)

Try cross-sticking with your left hand man. This will leave your right hand to continue the hh rhythm or to move about the kit. You should also try using some in-ear headphones (i.e. Shure E2c). On those double tom hits and then cymbal hits, try using both hands on two toms and then both hands on two cymbals. So both hands are hitting together 3 times in a row.

dude that was fucking awesome, dont listen to wht the rest of the crappers say, i wish u were my drummer seriously, everyone else trys to hit the freaking cymbals and rims and all that crap on the verse, gives it a stupid funk type of sound which i hate when ppl do covers. keep doing wht ur doing, dave grohl didnt freaking follow stupid tabs or shit, he did whtever he wanted. its a good skill to play by ear, not tabs. you go :)

Don't think it was completely right, but it's good to have a variety of ways of playing a song so if a drum rookie wants to play a song, and he can't coz its too hard, they can just play an easier version. its mildy impressive to cover a nirvana song with guitar, but covering their drums is honestly kinda dumb unless you up it a knotch and add some more stuff in it to make it your own...

Don't get me wrong, David Grohl was an amazing drummer, but his drum beats where essentially the background to the guitar and vocals, if your going to make a video exsentuating the drumming only, you'll have to add some extra stuff in their of your own to make it more fun.
