He's off at times, but the none of those techniques were bad attempts.

I needed a solid video of what these sounded like and this video did it.

If you're a drummer and gonna critique him, why not do it constructively?

Work out that technique a little bit more for the rest of your life! Like every drummer should! haha... and just a tip tighten up your Snare batter head, makes for a great pop on them rim shots... (not to be confused with side sticking)

probably not, the EX has cheap shells, and if that is a cheap Mapex, then so does it.

some of the export series doesnt use poplar. I was referring to the crappy shell export series. The veneer wood is an example.

Oh ok. THe poplar is a pretty nice wood. I like it most for metal. But what is veneer?

Yea, poplar is great. But veneer is a type of very cheap wood. It is made up of thin layers I believe. It doesnt hold sound very well, and they are typically found on cheap drumsets

toms sound excellent i have a 6 piece kit too but my 14" tom doesnt sound so good :D theres like a metallic ring on it strangely

have no fear! =D I used your other video - the sound tour one - as a guide and i realised for some reason the resonant head was tuned to tightly its all fixed now =D
