@carlsongracieteam Really? one of the very beautiful aspects of BJJ is its versatility in that you can roll at a 100% just as well as slow roll. It has nothing to do with not being a good partner. I have been to many Top and well known BJJ schools that when it was time to roll, we rolled hard but with respect and care for the art and your partner. There are tons of videos on YouTube with Renzo Gracie rolling at 100% with his brothers. It is nothing new, maybe it is new to you!
@kanguesso The thing between Renzo and Ryan was a pride thing, Renzo didn't want to lose to his younger brother. There is a different between rolling hard and going 100% tournament style. when you roll at the academy you should focus on trying new techniques and flowing.
@carlsongracieteam Pride thing or not, they went 100% hard. Dude i know about slow rolling and flow rolling where you simply concentrate on technique, timing, positioning and just overall sharpening your tools. However,There are times when you just go all out. It happens often and there is nothing wrong with it. It depends on what you want to get out of it. If you're just looking to improve technique, you can slow roll but if you're looking to simulate tournament feel, you go hard.
I wonder if Garcia is going to the competition in Abu Dhabi. I know Robson Moura is currently training to go and I would love to see a match up. I think they are in the same division. I think the last time Moura competed he won his division at the Rickson Gracie Invitational.
@carlsongracieteam I have never met Garcia. What weight does he compete at? I know Robson is at about 140lbs. He even mentioned about competing in MMA again if the UFC made another lower weight class.
@carlsongracieteam yes, I know, but one of Robson's brown belts told me that he would like a lower weight class so I guess that means he wants a 125 lb weight class. So wow, yea, I guess we will never see those two fight then. Just so you know I am not BSing you about any of this, I live in Tampa about a mile from where Robson spends most of his time. I have been considering training with him.
Why doesn't it look like they are going 100%?
kanguesso 1 week ago
@kanguesso why would they go 100% in a roll? If you roll 100% then you are probably not a very good training partner.

@kanguesso I agree with you but why are you surprised that they are not rolling 100 percent in the video.

@carlsongracieteam Because maybe i just wanted to see them go really hard at each other, that's all. I just wanted to see it.

It's just mind blowing how good Marcelo is. He rolls against the best grapplers in the world and barely looks like he's trying.

@sclaysdharma the ufc already has a 135 pound division lol, and marcelo is a middleweight which is 168 to 181, robson competes at 140.
